I bought an icy breeze cooler to keep my kids cool while camping . Although it works good but only for a couple hours it just wasn't enough, not enough cooling time and not enough cooling area. Pretty much it's only for one person. It's also useless as a cooler if you are using it as an ac.
Bought this ryobi bad boy and its substantially better for cooling. For a wider area, lasts tons longer and the kids love this fun little thing. They love playing with it and smashing thier faces in the mist. I highly recommend it for camping amongst other applications.
This was an excellent demo and video.

I was looking for a battery powered fan, and almost bought the Bauer 20v from HF, but by luck while watching fan reviews, I stumbled upon this review. Never heard of a bucket top misting fan, and after watching I searched and found the Kobalt, and Artic Cove. Bang for buck I ordered the Ryobi. I have B+D 5Ah 20v batteries, but use an adapter for my Ryobi tools, so although it's more than I wanted to spend for a fan, the misting function made the deal. And as for the lack of rafter hooks, that's solved by some wire bending.

I've ordered 2 from HD. These are going for $59 and it comes with lithium battery and charger. If you're active or retired military don't forget to sign up for or show your military I.D. to get a 10% discount. I found this to be a great deal to say the least AND if they go on sale for Father's Day thats even a better savings. Also, I got an extra 2 pack battery set 4.0 vs the 1.5V that comes with the fan for $79 normally $175. Anyway, I can't handle any heat (a redhead) so I'm limited to only doing gardening in the mornings in the shade. The humidity is crazy here in the mid-atlantic but with these it just might make it doable and then some. I was in search of the misting kit to install on an oscillating fan but it's something you can't leave outside when it rains (We're old .. and forgetful). Popped over to YT and up you popped and started my search based on your review. The bucket fan is so COOL..no pun intended ;). This is my first vid of yours and enjoyed it from start to finish. Liked and new sub and can't wait to watch your others and the new ones to come.Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Time, hard work, details, editing etc really show thru. You also made me miss all my engineer, buddies, friends and coworkers from the SF Bayarea tech companies... Great Job!

These look nice and are reasonably well built. I bought 4 of them at Christmas, for use this summer during outdoor events under a 10 x 10 canopy. I tested one out a couple of weeks ago and holy smoke, these things pump water out like a fireman's hose. Everything gets soaked no matter what fan speed or the pump speed, so I'm taking them back and exchanging for the standard fan. If I need a mister, I'll either rent a proper industrial unit (as I did previously and I mistakenly thought these would be comparable - they are absolutely not) or buy a high pressure 'proper' mister unit and power it off a generator. Sad thing is, I bought 8 of the high capacity batteries and supercharger port to ensure these things would last all day. Don't expect a lot. Yes, they'll water your plants, but if you are using them for cooling, make sure you are wearing a wet-suit...

We had to work on a family member's outdoor storage unit in the desert. It was usually over 100F degrees if not 110. We depended on battery power for lights, fans, and this little misting fan combined with a Home Depot bucket and a cooler of 20lbs of ice and some water really helped.
It didn't cool a large area, but it was noticeable when it was off. Also, it would be a nice break to stand right next to it and get a cool mist in your face and on your clothes. Sure it'd dry off in a matter of minutes, but it was a nice break.

    • @jeffostroff

I measure across from the usable part where air flows. CFM is a measurement of measured velocity times the area. So it does not matter what area you think is obstructed, because the meter measures the actual wind speed it sees, not some reduced amount that we think the plastic might block the air it measures what it sees.
