A friend of my brothers went to TJ to have his upholstery done for cheap. He came back home to LA. Next morning, his front seats were slashed open. Obviously, he realized he unknowingly had smuggled drugs across the border😯😯
My dad was a judicial officer in Durango Mexico at around the same time this guy was. He served from 2000-2003. Everything he said unfortunately is very true. His experiences and my dad's experiences are very similar, it's almost as if I was hearing my dad tell the stories. Unfortunately, he left out alot of details about himself. This guy is no saint, but unfortunately he didn't have a choice. He said he made "good money". I wish he would have told where this money came from. Just like my dad always told me, "An honest cop is a dead cop" I can say for sure most of his "wages" came from extorting, beating, and carrying out the dirty work of the cartels on innocent civilians. Especially in the 2000 - 2005 era of Mexico. They were very dark times. We had to flee to the US in 2005 because my dad was next in line to share the same faith as the friends of Ed. We eventually came back in 2012. Again, you can't blame Ed, because the police had no choice. It was either that or your life. I just wish he was more transparent of the dark side that came with being a cop in that time. I know he is probably ashamed but not enough people talk about the sins that came with policing. My dad also went to the sierra with the military to fight Narcos, but what Ed seemed to leave out, is that they were sent by the cartels to fight the opposition. To this day the local police and the local cartels are one in the same. I had a very crazy experience not too long ago where one of my neighbors invited me to a birthday party at their house. Now everyone in the neighborhood knows that they work for the cartels, but it's quite normal here. (I'd also like to point out that people who work in the cartels aren't like in the movies, they look, act and talk just like everyone of us. They aren't mean, they aren't hostile, they act just like regular people, they're even very nice believe it or not) anyway there I was hanging out, eating and drinking when my neighbors dad came up to me and started talking to me. When I told him my name, he said, wait your [my dad]'s kid, he used to be a Judicial right? That's when my neighbor (his son) overheard and asked me kind of bewildered , "your dad was a judicial officer?" The crazy part of the story is after they found out who my dad was, they started treating me alot different. They were alot more friendly, they told me if I ever get into trouble to just give them a call and stuff like that. Cartels don't just offer those things to anyone. Now I knew that my dad wasn't a clean cop but It really made me wonder if in 2000 - 2005, if there was any difference at all from a cop and a Narco. I know this may all seems like it's straight out of a Movie, but this little anecdote doesn't even scratch the surface of how it was back in those times. This Podcast segment sugarcoated a lot of it.

well NAFTA took away a lot of jobs in northern mexico, keep in mind a lot of the people that lived there before NAFTA were ranchers and farmers that were now being replaced by the big corporations in the USA. Drug cartels then came over and gave people jobs in northern mexico, so now your a young guy with no job and your two choices are either go to the USA illegally and the border crossing is dangerous or work for the cartels. border crossing is also very expensive costing almost five thousand dollars.

My friend said some of her friends that were close to the missing girl started messing with ouji boards and seance and contacting spirits to try to find out what happened to her. They say they finally got a message saying to please let her rest in peace and stop trying to find out what happened because it'll give them all nightmares if they knew what really happened to her. They all stopped immediately.
Turns out her husband killed her a year ago. Her sister and family for over a year didn't know what happened to her, even though cops knew all that time. They just told the family a couple weeks ago. She married some dude and lived in Mexico with him and tried to leave to go back home idk to visit or leave him/divorce him and he kidnapped her. Police found her near the airport buried in a cave or something. He even sent pictures of her dead body to the family a few weeks ago. Poor girl.
J Dtown I’m sorry to tell you this, but as someone who lived and goes back to Jalisco, where there’s heavy pressure for cartels, not all organized groups target innocent people. With other the usual cartel, you simply don’t mess with them in ANY way, and they won’t mess with you. There is a saying in Mexico by cartels that says “take my silver, or take my lead”. Which means you can either follow the rules of what the cartels tell you to do and be rewarded, or you can be killed by the lead of the bullet. Ed has definitely killed for the cartel and most likely kidnapped and tortured people for the cartel too. He says he was a good cop who never got involved with the cartel, but he would die in not even a whole days time, maybe within the hour. It’s not possible to not be corrupt when working for any Mexican police force. Let alone Tijuana, probably the most corrupt and dangerous place in Mexico. I look at Ed as somewhat a fraud by coming on Joe Rogans podcast and completely lieing about what his true intentions were with the Mexican government and cartel. I would respect him a lot more if he would’ve truely told him what he had to do to be a police officer in Tijuana, instead of making him seem like this one of a kind special law enforcement officer who was just the route of all good. Just put it this way, he may of not liked the cartel, but to stay alive in the law enforcement agency in TIJUANA, he had to listen and abide by everything the cartel told him to do, and that’s definitely murder, torture, kidnapping, trafficking, burying people the cartel has already killed, and more that our brain can’t even comprehend.

This Podcast segment sugarcoated a lot of it.
you come off a bit judgmental.
telling the story second hand behind a pseudonym online is a lot easier than telling the story to an audience of millions when your name and face are well known.

well NAFTA took away a lot of jobs in northern mexico, keep in mind a lot of the people that lived there before NAFTA were ranchers and farmers that were now being replaced by the big corporations in the USA. Drug cartels then came over and gave people jobs in northern mexico, so now your a young guy with no job and your two choices are either go to the USA illegally and the border crossing is dangerous or work for the cartels. border crossing is also very expensive costing almost five thousand dollars.

I remember when the president started the war, before that cartels never hurt the innocent
Seriously doubt that. Cartels have always been in the business of hurting people. They have no moral restrictions, quit fooling yourself.
J Dtown I’m sorry to tell you this, but as someone who lived and goes back to Jalisco, where there’s heavy pressure for cartels, not all organized groups target innocent people. When you hear innocent people being brutally killed or kidnapped, it’s MAINLY (not always but most of the time) the Zetas. With other the usual cartel, you simply don’t mess with them in ANY way, and they won’t mess with you. Ofc they’ll always be some bad people, but most members have a sense of working for easy money, not to terrorize or kill innocents.
