I get why they removed this scene. It doesn't serve much of a purpose other than to show what happens when there isn't a cube there. They probably filmed it thinking "well, we might as well show what happens if they happen upon a room that isn't there," but probably couldn't figure out a way to cohesively and meaningfully have them figure that out
I think that it would have been a (somewhat) better movie if they had left that in, not that it isn't already great. I think it would have implied some more mysterious things about the cube and, in turn, kept people on the edge of their seats to learn more about it.
I agree with you there. I remember in the old dvd commentary the director said the reason for removing this scene was because he felt it was slowing the film down.
The French 2 disc DVD, American DVD and Japanese DVD has this deleted scene from what I can remember. It is raw footage and obviously has no colour grading or sound effects added.
This was actually in the script, and described the way we see it. I think this room is part of the “track” that the Bridge Room travels through. We don’t get a look up at the ceiling though
They kept this scene out because it was inconsistent with the movie. When they head to the green room, they find out that each room has numbers on each of them. If they approached the cube's exterior, they would know hat it was the exterior of the room instead of a room, since there were no numbers.
They probably cut this scene because it would’ve potentially spoiled how the rooms in the cube move, which they don’t find out until much later. Cool scene tho

@@ulrikahaggard9923 the secret ending had Kazan walking into a big white light (heaven) and he ended up in his version of a perfect afterlife (nothing but blue oceans and skies, his favourite colour). He'd even be able to float in the water looking up at a blue sky. There were no Aliens and no planets. Just endless blue oceans and skies ahead of him (the Cube was gone)

I think it probably clashed with how they do find a cube at the edge later and it opens to nothing
they kept the line “How long have we been in here?” “9 or 10 hours, last thing I remember was shaving.” in the prime numbers scene
