I think I get it now! When you play in environments that mix beauty & noise, I don't CARE about the noise. Your playing & singing act like a catalyst for calm. As a viewer, for a few moments anyway I am allowed to believe that through pieces like this (& all music) we can help anchor ourselves amid chaos...
Damn. That was beautiful. My whole life is built around compassion and bringing people peace through my music. I really appreciate you edifying my journey :)

Hi Dani! I've had this video saved for almost 2 yrs because it's always been a favorite of mine, and at the time was a little intimidated with it since I was a fairly new uke player. Which is why I'm about to bust because I watched it again tonight, and I was able to figure it out just by watching your finger placement!!! I'M SO PUMPED!!!!!! I would not have been able to do this 2 years ago! So, I'm a little late in thanking you since you've had this video out for a while but better late than never! Your voice and your renditions of the songs you choose are Outstanding! So thank you and a big hug from Louisiana!
Louisianna huh? Well I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you! Hazzah!! If you'd like to learn it in person, I'm teaching a class at my Online Academy in Feb called "Articulated Strumming" where we'll go over the chords, riff and I'll give tips on how to strum through with your fingers correctly for the best sound. Maybe I'll see you there :) If not, I'll see you here :) Academy Class descriptions: danijoymusic.square.site
Brilliant. I loved the sound of the waves reflecting the broom sweep in the original…very nice. Even the plane zooming behind the cloud ADDed to the song. Fantastic voice in a fabulous setting down under.
I do this one also on uke.....must say....I think you're da bomb.....thanks hun. BTW....the plane going by shows what the uke is about. Wherever go, there you are.....with an uke. Make music and peace.
Nice Dani , I enjoyed that ,I play it on the Sax ,so smooth ,tomorrow I shall buy a ukulele, and get playing chords again after decades of absence.👍 looks like kirribillie your playing from .
Thank you Paul! Wow, to inspire you to play after a hiatus, there's no bigger compliment! I was in the town across from Sydney (I sadly can't remember the name)
Yesterday was harvest full moon in Hawaii! Fullest at 12AM, listened to Nieil Young last night, and today a ukelele and sweet voice , truly blessed with this discovery of this singing and song! Aloha from Hawaii MK! that jet is either arriving from Hawaii or going to Hawaii! Via Australia right?! Beautiful thing mahalo!
Thanks Marion :) I'm playing GCEA with a low G string. High G is pretty standard, but I prefer the deep end of the Low G. I specifically use PHD stings. I use them so much that I started keeping them in stock to share with. my students & fans. I like your arrangement a lot. Hope the PDF is coming but I think I have it down. First verse is essentially G6 (Em7). And the prechorus is Gmaj7 to G6. Is your chorus just the standard A7sus4 to A7? Or are you adding a little flavour in there?
Hi Todd, yeah, sorry about that. I got so busy. But I will be teaching this in a class in February! Oh yes, I have a Low G string. This is a thicker string which makes my G (4th string) rain out an octave lower. I really love it! And my favorite set of strings is PHD. I've got some on my website if you're interested in trying them out! Low G is very close to my heart. www.danijoymusic.com/shop

Great cover Dani, love this version. Just need to figure out your chord sequence. Is that a Em7 after the riff?
Yep! The first part of the verse has Em7, riff, Em7, riff, then the movement stars with a Gmaj7-Em7 then riff and repeat. Make sense?
Brilliant thanks! and well done for keeping your composure after the inconsiderate plane.
Sweet
Of course beautiful.
May we hope a tutorial or at least a songsheet for this.
