    It's been my experience that when you cut off the baitfish's tail, they don't get bit as well. I think maybe it makes it unnatural and the pike get more suspicious or something. Anyway it may work better to hook the sucker through the side so it's disoriented and trying to right itself all the time. This keeps it moving and also makes the pike think it's easy prey.

    • @BryanProkuski
      @BryanProkuski  3 роки тому +1

      I'm going be using the camera every time out only because I make these videos and really like to capture the underwater view. The Revolution Pro is a nice unit. It's got everything I like, small, light, back windup reel and video isn't bad either. Run and gun type cam. The HD7i Pro is HD so video quality is top notch but heavy and bulky. More of a wheel house cam or sit and chill. Really wish they make a micro HD. I'd get that right away! When using cameras the lake and depth play a major part on how the quality will look too.

    That bass is dead why don't people just cut the line the hooks are made to.rust out

    • @BryanProkuski
      @BryanProkuski  3 роки тому

      Hook wasn't in the stomach. I bass fish and know all about cutting the hook out. I am a big advocate of if its deep to cut and let rust out. I fish a stretch of river for smallies and have caught the same fish with the hook still working its self out. It does work!

      @@BryanProkuski yes if u can best thing would be take ur plyers and cut the hook itself off as close as u can to the flesh it's stuck in without harming the fish so that it has less metal in its mouth helping it eat better just a better option. If u can do it fast and not hurt the fish

      Suggestion--
      Cutting the line off at the mouth, or further works really well for me when I catch a limit of fish. Usually when you’re putting fish in a basket.
      I don’t try and perform surgery to get my hook out anymore . I either cut the line ( close) or unhook the leader and put them in the basket.
      If you have a fish that’s hooked deep, and don’t try to take out the hook with a hemistat, they will live fine.
      Yes, I believe light wire Aberdeen hooks will rust out. Gold plated hooks- forget it Charlie. They don’t rust.
      I have a feeling that all these guys out fishing that perform surgery and then say “ see ya later buddy “; those fish are dying in a day or 2.
      If a fish is deeply hooked, take it home and eat it. Don’t let it go to waste.
      Nice videos Bryan. You seem like you’re from The Southside ( of Chicago) or your family was. Especially with that Bears hat !
      Keep up the good work with the videos !!
