It's been my experience that when you cut off the baitfish's tail, they don't get bit as well. I think maybe it makes it unnatural and the pike get more suspicious or something. Anyway it may work better to hook the sucker through the side so it's disoriented and trying to right itself all the time. This keeps it moving and also makes the pike think it's easy prey.

Great video. I'm not so big on cutting the tail off the Pike minnow, against my ethics. To each their own though. I have great luck for Pike with a white wacky rig, 2 feet off to a bottom weight and a tip up that's wind activated. Great success. Take care, be safe on that ice. Cheers

Do you think you will use a cam more often, or rather how often do you use a cam? Obviously the HDi pro is going to have more/better feature, what do you think of the Revolution Pro?
I'm going be using the camera every time out only because I make these videos and really like to capture the underwater view. The Revolution Pro is a nice unit. It's got everything I like, small, light, back windup reel and video isn't bad either. Run and gun type cam. The HD7i Pro is HD so video quality is top notch but heavy and bulky. More of a wheel house cam or sit and chill. Really wish they make a micro HD. I'd get that right away! When using cameras the lake and depth play a major part on how the quality will look too.

It is on default settings. It's the lake that makes the pic look that look. Super clear lake. Best advice on a camera is close to bottom and the shallower the better. But some lakes are just not made for cameras.

@@vinnypell8713 Bass are more of the harder species to target in the winter but fun when you can find them. Keep trying, maybe move lakes if need. Stay shallow, rip rattle baits while minnow on dead stick next to you and look for weeds. Also, use DNR lake finder to figure out best lakes for bass in your area if you don't already know.

I have a bobber stopper on there. The yellow thread kind that moves up and down on your line. I usually use the flasher to find my depth but I was watching it fall on Aqua Vu so I could see where I wanted it.
This is the Aqua Vu HD7i Pro. These new units have HD which the micros do not. I have the 5.0 too. Wish they made an HD in micro size. I have captured some good footage on it but really depends on the lake and depth for me. In this video where I show the weedline to the right and left of me that was the 5.0 so you can see the difference from this camera on same lake.
I have a question for you. So I own the Marcum Recon 5 I think it is and I was wondering if the Aqua View tripod like the one you have will work for my camera? And also is that tripod of yours a wireless or manual turning tripod?

Even with his tail cut he was quite the swimmer. I dont always cut them off but sometimes when strong swimmers I do so they dont get tangle up in my jiggin line or easy for fish to chase down.

lol... Technically Bluegills and sunfish are different but unless its a pumpkin seed , there all blue or suns to me. This one was actually a bluegill though.
Hook wasn't in the stomach. I bass fish and know all about cutting the hook out. I am a big advocate of if its deep to cut and let rust out. I fish a stretch of river for smallies and have caught the same fish with the hook still working its self out. It does work!
I have the same one and a little smaller silver one, they work awesome here in Manitoba! I 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 I strongly recommend getting a few even the smallest one!

Brandon Bryan Suggestion-- Cutting the line off at the mouth, or further works really well for me when I catch a limit of fish. Usually when you’re putting fish in a basket. I don’t try and perform surgery to get my hook out anymore . I either cut the line ( close) or unhook the leader and put them in the basket. If you have a fish that’s hooked deep, and don’t try to take out the hook with a hemistat, they will live fine. Yes, I believe light wire Aberdeen hooks will rust out. Gold plated hooks- forget it Charlie. They don’t rust. I have a feeling that all these guys out fishing that perform surgery and then say “ see ya later buddy “; those fish are dying in a day or 2. Awesome! Have you been fishing shallow and weed edges? I love Rattle baits in 6-12 ft of water. Otherwise if you find the panfish, bass wont be far.

Remote control key fob. It will work with any underwater camera.
Like the guy below stated too. It turns with a wireless key fob and I don't see why it wouldn't work with any camera out there.
