The NKJV SCR is a great layout. It is hand sized, large print (10.5pt), and the references are in the outer margin. The only downfall is the gutter space when it is edge-lined. This edition addresses that issue, while also giving you some extra durability with the paste-down vinyl liner, that has reinforced bookbinders tape to reinforce the text block to the cover. This one also has beautiful silver gilding that has a printed design, which perfectly compliments the blue cowhide. This leather in my opinion is among the best leather Thomas Nelson has released, and has a beautiful grain. Thanks Tim, think I still prefer the brown premiere edition , but they did a fantastic job on the blue one making it look just like a premiere copy minus the edge lining. Definitely worth the investment.
As always, great review Tim, appreciate it! I got the premier brown goatskin, identical to the one you compared to, a few weeks ago. One of my issues was the text curving into the gutter, as you showed. I wish, wish, they had put the references on the gutter side, and kept the text to the outsides. No problem looking in the gutter for a reference every once in a while, but trying to read the text like that? That’s just crazy. That’s my two cents worth, coming from another Bible loving Tim up in Canada! Keep up the great work Bro.
Yes it is beautiful 👍😄. Thanks so much Pastor Tim. I love those page edges. Are they called fore-edge like Humble Lamb? Is that the same as gauffered?? We’re learning so much about Bibles watching your channel. Thanks for your work. 😊🙏
I wouldn’t call it fore-edge because you can see it when the Bible is open. I also wouldn’t called it guaffered because it’s sort of just printed on. I really don’t know what to call it other than AWESOME!
Nice quick review Tim. Looks like a very nice Bible. Did they confirm what type of leather they used? I wish they would release this same Bible without the SCR and just make it a text Bible. I think it would be an awesome reader. I have the tan goatskin and don't find myself drawn to it in part due to all the references. It feels a bit cramped for me. I would just put translator notes at the bottom. I know some people love the references, so I might very well be in the minority here, but I would love for them to streamline this single-column and open up the spacing just a bit. For me that would truly make this an awesome Bible.

I am waiting on mine to arrive on Wednesday! First blue Bible for me🙏🏼
Just getting ready to do this exact review! I did some research on the ornate designs and it's pretty cool. They're variations of celtic knots.
Excellent info!
Thanx, Pastor Tim 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Great video Tim. We are a huge fan of the NIKJV line. I can’t get enough of them.

It is a cowhide. But I don’t know the type.
