I have Acqua Viva, Ichnusa, Ambra Aurea, Patchouly, Arso and Acqua di Sale. I love them all. Ichnusa is super realistic green fig tree/leaves, which is great for hot summer. Acqua Viva is super realistic amalfi lemon and layers great with Ichnusa. Acqua di Sale is a beautiful marine/coastal scent and really projects. Ambra Aurea is a majestic, rich, caramel ambergris/amber that lasts forever. Arso is a beautiful woody, campfire, dark fragrance that is amazing in the fall and winter. Profumum Roma fragrances are all extrait at 43% oil, so they last a long time. Amazing house.

Dmitri have you had the chance to try "vir' by this house? It came out last year. I'd love to know your thoughts! I just finished visiting the flagship store myself, and I was drawn to arso too, I have it sprayed on myself. What a beast. Tempted to buy it hahaha and tempted to buy Vir and victrix... Don't know yet. But Vir although softer and more suave than arso has such a fun and relaxing character to it.

Great video Dimitri, my favorite from this house is Sabbia Bianca, it’s an intoxicating duet of violet & tuberose. Profumum uses a high concentration of perfume oils. Also, I don’t know if you’re aware or trying to be, but you’re quite hilarious in your explanations! Very entertaining to watch!

Great first impressions..bang on.. You describe perfume so eloquently . Well done.
I love this house and is in the top 3 of my favorite Italian perfume houses. My favorite lemon 🍋 Aqcua Viva and summer time high heat fragrance of any in my collection. Arso is a wonderful burnt down Christmas tree woody scent. ..other ones I love are Orangea which took some time to grow on me and also Meringa which is a Oswalds exclusive which behaves like BR540 in the way that is so soft yet so potent at the same time - best soft floral lemon meringue fragrance I have ever smelled.

After watching your Videos for the last few days, i have to say that you have a very interesting taste in perfumes. I have to admit that i like a few Fragrances that you hate (Reflection Man or Alexandria 2 from Xerjoff), but you help me to gain interest in the more unique section.
Also, i LOVE how you teach your viewers about certain things, like how a synthetic Vanille is better then a authentic one, or how a real incense fragrance should smell and why. I just like that. A unique taste to a unique fragrance UA-camr! Wish you all the best Dimitri.

Ichnusa is a botanical heaven and Acqua e Zucchero the sweetest perfection.
I sometimes regret selling Arso. While it was a great fragrance, I decided to cash it in because I can enjoy that aroma when I smell tree needles.
Ambra Aurea has been reformulated and it smells less ambery/labdanum more vanilla now (still a compliment getter).
Acqua di Sale smells fishy and provides rather warm salty aquatic vibes instead of something fresh breezy happy.
There are a few fragrances I still keep sealed (silly me) and Patchouly is one of them. I expect it smelling close to Patchouli Imperial.
One day, I wish to visit Italy and buy Fumidus.

Wow! It would totally put me off with having a limit of trying only two fragrances each time you visit their store 😮 I've never heard of any other company doing that.
Sorriso is very synthetic in the opening but the dry down gets better. Psychedelic is one of my absolute favorite patchouli fragrances. I also adore Akkad so I need to try this one for sure.
I do love this House though and unfortunately we do not have them in Australia. My brother in law is Italian and when he visits Italy again I will get him to bring me a few bottles back with him!

I recently picked up a bottle of Arso. I love the vibe of caramelized pine sap over cedar shavings! But, unlike my Ambra Aurea (which I also have), the scent is extremely muted, whispery--downright wimpy. Several have commented on this underwhelming performance. I am hoping that allowing oxygen to do its thing will bring it to life. I have seen the maturing effects of oxidation work unbelievable wonders in the case of Rasasi's Yuqawam. And I think it is starting to viagra some vigor into my 2023 batch of Epic Man, which was another disappointment. But damn. If Arso had the oomph of, say, Interlude--well, it would definitely be in my top five. Open to hear the experiences of others on this.

What is your recommended decant website? Thanks in advance

  • @Puddycat00
    @Puddycat00 3 роки тому +1

I got a decant of Arso. I didn’t much like it. I don’t want to smell like burnt wood. Maybe better suited for a guy. Weird how it turned sweet woody on me at the dry down. I’m wearing it right now. Still, I won’t reach for it much. My absolute favorite from this house will always be Ambre Aurea . But still not my absolute favorite Amber that I own. I have to go with what lasts on my skin. And so far my favorite is Ciel de Gum. I have been crazy about it ever since I first smelt it . My goodness MFK had better never discontinue it. It is a masterpiece. But I also think Oud Satin Mood is another MFK Masterpiece. As well as Aqua Universalis Forte. My very first introduction to MFK was Aqua Universalis Forte, I immediately bought a full bottle. Then I got samples of the whole line. But Ciel De Gum was not in there so I didn’t find out about it til a year later. So I bought bottles of all my favorites from MFK. Then one day I purchased a bottle of Grand Soir direct from MFK website and they offered for me to pick 2 free samples and I picked Bacarrat Rouge 540 extrait and I saw Ciel De Gum and thought to myself, funny name, maybe smells like gum, ok I will try it. So when I got it in the mail i sprayed a lil right on my wrist coz I never waste perfume to spray on paper, it’s always better on your own skin. So after I sprayed it, I took a sniff and I was in love. I went and checked the notes on Fragrantica and then I just had to buy a full bottle. But I had to wait a while coz I’d spent too much money that month on expensive Niche perfumes. I’m already in deep debt. I have to be patient. Bring down my debt first . So this past Christmas I decided I would treat myself and bought the two perfumes I have wanted for a long time. Two I just can’t live without. MFK Ciel De Gum and Ambra Aurea. I also bought a small bottle of Xerjoff’s Richwood. I asked my good friend who owns a perfume store to only sell me a 30ml decant of Richwood as I didn’t want a full bottle of it since it doesn’t contain Mysore anymore. It’s still a beautiful fragrance but highly overpriced. They substituted Patchouli for the Richwood but kept the price the same. I love Patchouli and think it’s still a nice perfume, not the amazing beauty it used to be when it had the Mysore. But what really pisses me off is they claim to still use Mysore in Richwood when there is no way they can still use it since it’s been deemed endangered and therefore illegal for perfume companies to still use, plus I can not smell it in there anymore, I can tell they have replaced it with patchouli, and for the small few non IFRA compliant Indie perfume houses who do still use Mysore, it’s VERY expensive and you will find even they use a very teeny tiny amount, so tiny that u can’t even detect the Mysore in their perfumes and that defeats the whole purpose of putting Mysore in a perfume. You want ppl to be able to detect it and smell the creamy smooth beauty of this most sought after Sandalwood. There is no sandalwood in the world as intoxicatingly beautiful as Mysore. And for sandalwood lovers like myself, we always search for the best sandalwood . Just as Oud lovers are always searching for the best Oud that is not poopy or BO smelling or nasty as so many of the cheap ones are. I have been told that there are some Ouds that even smell floral and so beautiful. Really? Well all of the ones I’ve smelt have been VERY nasty. Well, all except for MFK Oud satin mood which I absolutely adore. But I was told that there is no real Oud in Oud satin mood. Which makes sense. I doubt MFK would search the planet for the best and sweetest smelling Ouds he can find just to use it in his perfumes. It would cost too much, at least 3 times what his regular perfumes cost now. And he knows all too well that cost is a huge factor with consumers. Most of us can’t afford the high perfume prices as it is now days, so just imagine if the prices TRIPLED. He wouldn’t sell very many and it’s always about how much a perfume sells . MFK has had to discontinue quite a few perfumes in the past that had a cult following and were much beloved by many ppl but not enough ppl, and it didn’t sell well enough so he had them discontinued. That’s the name of the game, money. If a product doesn’t sell very well, it has to go. Perfume houses are after all in the business of making money. First and foremost. Every business is in the business of making money. That’s business...lol

Arso can become boring after repeated use, it's a simple woody fragrance after all, better suited for men. Ciel de Gum also happens to be my favourite MFK and in my top 5 ambers of all time, will make a video about my list soon. Unlike your source though I was told that Francis uses a low quality farmed oud in his fragrances, not a synthetic molecule 🤷🏻‍♂️
