For example if this striker got the ball in the box, i would want to engage him on the left or right, so that he have less angles to strike and i will have higher possibility to block the shot.

Then when I’m working on defending on the pitch during individual practice I do cb orientated agility drills. My a big part is just recognizing patterns and applying the Knowledge you’ve learned and anticipation

Im a defender and i never knew this, i was always like im good at like covering and slide tackles but shit as 1 v 1 defending but now i know wut i’ve been doing wrong
I usually stay right in front of the goal when they get too close It always works and i have only conceded 5 goals out of 50+ shots I'm not even that good it's just too effective

How do you prevent ankle injuries or any foot injury from,happening when you block with your foot? Here's the scenario. Playing with small goals. I was tight to the attacker and the distance from the goal was 1-3ft away so at most a yard. I could tell the shot was coming and when so I debated whether I should block it or not because I thought this could hurt as I needed to extend to block it. But I said just block it to prevent the goal. So I extended my left foot it came down onto the grass and the ball hit off my the inside of my left foot but more closer to toes than right exactly at my ankle so the initial pain was that part of the foot and eventually I left the field as my ankle could not,support me well. but now my ankle is done it's been a day I can't walk. So how do you prevent this do I need to just strengthen my ankle should I not extend and also come down? Do I need to tighten my foot somehow when blocking? Please help?

@@phamquocanh9-694 the whole idea is to block as much shooting lanes as possible and make the shooter shoot where he doesn't want eg the goalkeeper.

Get a towel , put ur foot on it and curl the towel with ur toes , this will train the fascia which will strengthen it
