Lund Jr. great info as always! Once you guys and other tuning shops have run the new GT500 through the gauntlet to find the limits of the engine and transmission, I'll purchase one of these beasts in 2021. Being cautious about buying the first model year since there are a few unknowns about this car.
The power potential of this predator motor is insane, I'm impressed with the stock fuel system after all these changes. Also The Tremec dual-clutch in it is stout! I've seen it handle 1100 whp gt-500 cars with no upgraded clutches... Although the best 60 ft I've seen is a 1.4. did the hp tuners workaround get rid of the bog down low?
Yeah I've experienced that in my Focus ST. Stock turbo, made no boost but the stock turbo is small so makes 20psi @ 2500 rpm so I got mid 1.7's out of it on slicks. But as soon as I upgraded to a GTX3071 Gen II, fuel cut makes no boost, falls on it's face and that is below 5K. Above 5999, I get spark cut, it makes 5-6 psi and it blows the slicks off (1.9) stock suspension still but you get my point.
Not many people will own this car even as stock. You go buy one to do a pulley swap then. Gathering good data means getting all the small stuff understood first.
Please don’t port it yet, don’t be like Chevy and dodge see what bad ass numbers this can put out without having to take apart anything. show what pulleys can do or fit and what HP they do so someone can go out get one and just do fbo @ smaller pulley and see what whp they get just to shit in all other other competitors
Why do people porting is some hard to do and time consuming? Literally not that big of a deal. It’s something anyone should think about when being FBO E85
Just Some Guy you have to remove the blower, send it off to a Machine shop ect, it is hard and time consuming.. lol what if you don’t have a Machine what now buy a porter blower? Lol it isn’t that simple
Toxic you simply remove a the blower (Which is really easy. Much easier then switching out headers) then you send it off to jokers performance or kong performance. You wait 5-7 business days then you simply install the blower. I’m not sure if you modded a car but for some parts it can take months to be delivered. My forged wheels took 6 weeks. My intake and pulley took two weeks to get to me. My exhaust took a long time to get to me. Porting a blower is a simple thing to. They literally send you a styrofoam box to ship your blower off in. It’s simple easy and is one of the easiest mods to do for the power increase you get. You can make 1100+whp with the stock blower easy but most people are gonna waste there money on a 8k whipple “upgrade” just too crack 1000whp.
Just Some Guy lol no one is gonna do that, my whole exhaust, intake, fuel system, clutch ect comes in less then a week, and sometimes I just pay a little extra for 1 day shipping, I could also drive the part on its stock set up until the part gets here I’m not gonna take off my blower send it out which would take 5-7 Business days porting takes another 1-2 days then for them to ship it back also remember you can’t drive your car for these days, and you did all that for what lol, “simply remove a blower” you’re acting like it’s an intake job main thing is it’s heavy and you have to go ship things out it’s every time consuming and tedious a lot of people like it how it comes out the factory and with intake and stuff like that you can always go back to stock then next day with ported things you can’t lol it’s a permanent mod
Can't wait to see it. With 830+hp with good tire and skinnies on the front to take weight off the front and have much better rolling resistance. I think you will see 9.60's range!! Watch. The car with a kid that has never been on a dragstrip ran 10.6@133mph! The car also ran a 10.7@133 in Vegas at 90+ degrees, hot lapped for hours with no turn off and 2100ft elevation. That same time just to a decent altitude correction was figured to be 10.45@136-137 range. So I truly think the car should easily be in the 9.5-9.8 range all day with what I said. We will see soon enough.
Keep in mind that today's technology makes it VERY easy to run a good time with an amazing DCT and when the PCM controls everything for you and if you have traction even better. Why do you think GTRs run so well? It's not the AWD system alone. This car with a manual and most people would be running mid to high 11s just like the 13-14 GT500. So I wouldn't expect it huge gains with 'seasoned" drivers because Evan Smith did what .06 better?
@@velr50gt your missing the fact Evan did that in Florida heat and humidity! Also stock tires, put on drag radials, skinnies on the front with good weather and a good prepped track and that could easily be 10.20's nothing else done. Then add 130 horsepower to the wheels or more and you don't thing that will take off a half second? I do. As for your point about driving? Well your not going to get that car to shift at its best time unless you do it manually yourself because you need to shift around 8200-8300rpm. Also another thing you look at, you say the car does it and driver doesn't really matter yet you had people running 11.3-11.5 all day in Vegas because they didn't know how to launch or how to even use street tires. So that's a load of crap to. Yet you had a handful of people that were able to take the same cars and run 10.7-10.9@133mph range with 90 degree heat, hot lapping for hours and 2100ft elevation. That alone as I stated before with a simple altitude correction shows easy 10.4 range nothing but a sea level track with better conditions. And for your 2014 GT500, they pulled out a 10.85 before bone stock! Granted it's no 2020 but throw some slicks on it with that solid rear axle and let it rip! Fact is the DCT just shifts extremely fast and doesn't use as much engine power to transfer to the wheels. A regular 10 speed would be almost just as fast at the dragstrip but a manual definitely would e a little slower with street tires and it also has longer gears but the more power you have the less that means.
Theses thing are like tunning a street bike gear dependent tuning I usually do this open wheel on my motorcycles I tuned in past and make changes like that.
GSHeverything : 98 octane ( here in Australia) yes it was about 10 days after I bought it . Totally standard everything : Tuned to 465 rwkw now . I’ve seen the FN GT ‘s stock with 437rwhp. (326 rwkw)
Jon thanks . My E85 ford Gt is not flex fuel car so I have to test the ethanol every time I race or fill up . I was hoping ford would make this a flex fuel car. Can we add a device to auto change stoich to change the tune on the fly ? One gal of 93 left in the tank as you know can really lower the ethanol % and change the locked tune . What are you guys doing about this? Thanks . One month left before mine gets here.
Headers , pulley up 5#'s , TB..... 100 extra hp ? 17-18 lbs would be a slap on the wrist , even if it only gained 80+ hp the fact you would have 900+ rwp off a pump fuel is badass ! 200+ hp increase with some basic bolt ons , hopefully no issues from the DCT . Why Ford didn't offer the DCT in the track pack car and a revised 10r80 for base model ? Surely Ford knows this car will see severe dragstrip duty , Dodge isn't going anywhere anytime soon .
Should of seen what max power it can make on 91 octane and 93 octane before e85. Not everyone wants 5mpg e85 for more power you can't even hook on street. Gotta be realistic. Most people buying this car will stay 91 and 93 octane.
@@BarnfindGT Cause most people use pump gas, and if you tune safe it won't blow, even on a bad tank of gas. Not everyone wants e85. This car can probably make over 700wheel 91 octane and it made 780wheel on 93 right.

Force Fed Coyote since this has no MAF sensor and is speed density taking off the inlet pre throttle won’t affect any thing with tuning. It just sees less restriction and more airflow and proper fueling is commanded due to a properly setup speed density model.
@@Lundracing Ford made the biggest mistake in modern mustang performance. Direct injection is the magic trick that allows massive power on pump gas. Why the hell did ford use it on the ecoboost engines, and the 18 and up mustang gt but not the most anticipated mustang of modern times? The base corvettes are direct injected, and (when tuned) will smoke a stock gt500. The the zo6 and zr1 are gonna murder the gt500.
