Hasn't been the same since the thunderbolt and imax theatre. It used to be a wonder land with heaps to do. I really have hopes for poor old dreamworld I am keen to buy tix for the year in support

I enjoyed this mate good stuff. A lot of happy memories there as a kid, interesting to see the park's evolution over time. I'll def be grabbing an annual pass once the new taipan is finished. Great detailed content showing the progress, the earthworks and building of the footings, the rebar piles and the tracks. Bet they still have that new rollercoaster smell.

Dreamworld seems to begin picking back up after the accident. Looking good so far! Steel Taipan should bring in loads of new visitors too!

Log ride is a rite of passage. Glad I took my bubba man on it when he was 4. Great photo of him and I with him crapping himself hahaha All of us real queenslanders,born here I mean,need to get in and support this place and big pineapple and sea world,maybe wet n wild ,but they need to sort their slides,too slow. Queensland used to be fun, but now the gold coast has long gone to the dogs
Yeah .....these places definitely need local support. Hopefully they keep improving their Attractions!!

Do you think you can have a look at the Storm at SeaWorld? When I went on the 26th there was a tarp around the bottom section??
I'll check it out - sometimes they might be doing a little bit of painting etc where they don't have to shut the full ride down so they will tarp over it. Ill see on my next visit

Oh, and I just got home from a 2 week holiday up at Goldie... normally I would've done the theme parks (as I always do), but this time I gave them all a miss... knowing that this "so-called "covid" would've affected the theme park industry and nothing would be operative and/or down for "maintenance"... I love Dreamworld... it's my fav of all the Goldie Theme Parks... it such a shame that White Water World is now only seasonal... that's a load of crap... QLD is still warm in winter... our Sydney Wet N Wild (now called Raging Waters!) is seasonal, but considering that our winter temps out here is 15degrees average during the warmest part of the day, that's understandable. Another so-called "covid casualty".
Hi. Theme Parks are coming back strong but from an operational cost perspective, it makes sense for the water theme Parks to be seasonal - at least until international visitation returns!
What ride do you think will take up the area where the rocky hollow log ride sits abandoned? 🤔

It's sad to see the park so quiet on a Saturday, how do the crowds compared to the other theme parks.
Hi! It seems like it's probably the quietest park right now. However, it is ride maintenance time for all the parks until Easter School holidays.

I doubt it will be finished early as even after the poles and track go up there is a stack of other work to do from landscaping, queuing, theming and of course testing, compliance & certification etc. When I worked in the industry, I got to see Superman coaster, DC Rivals, Doomsday, & Storm coaster getting constructed and all the different stages and timelines.

It’s a bit eerie seeing where the whole incident happened at the log ride
Hi! It wasn't there where that incident happened, it was the rapids ride which is now completely removed. The new coaster construction has taken over part of the land where that was.
Can U get around the back where a old water slide use to be

Yeah - I'll see if there is any other way to get to it. Possibly once the new ride opens, I might be able to get better access.

The log ride only closed in 2020. I went on it in 2019. Shame, it was one of the 80s rides.
