These were the 5 biggest plotholes closed (and 3 new ones opened) by the newest episode of the Clone Wars. Which do you think was the best (and worst) one?
Ashoka and her lightsabers, This is interesting, since in rebels she has white blades And I think when she left the order the green kyber krystals were destroyed, bcs she's no longer to be a Jedi, and it's some kind of tradition, BCs kyber Krystal is personally picked up and when not necesarry, he does not have to be around Anakin just replaced this for Ashoka favor Also, Rex reffered to himself as captain, bcs he was captain nearly all clone Wars, so the rank for him doesn't really matter ''in my book experience outranks everything '' he don't give a shi-- bantha
Lore Star I think the fact he was still called a Captain in other, later works (detailed events after Order 66 and the formation of the Galactic Empire) was that he was granted illegitimately the rank of Commander, so as to make certain that Bo and Ahsoka could go to Mandalore and taking into consideration that Ahsoka couldn’t be a Jedi commander anymore, but an “advisor” to “Commander” Rex. That or he had not yet had his rank updated in the system. Thus, was not “officially” a commander. That’s just my theory, though, at this time until the solution presents itself.
About Fulcrum: as we see in episode 1 of season 2 of "Rebels", Vader was surprised that Ahsoka is still alive. So, probably Imperials thought, that there are some small rebellious groups using this codename, primarily So Gerera, but all of those were considered not such a great threat to call in Vader. And after the end of season 2 Ahsoka was concidered by Vader deceased this time for sure - after all, he personally faced explosion and couldn't find a trace of her, so anyone using this codename couldn't bother Vader any more. About "commander" Shakendata expained, and about blue lightsabers - well, that's the only one which is left uncertain Though, I have another plot hole: so, in episode III Anakin knows, that Ahsoka is on Mandalore, pinning down Maul. The one for who he was ready to sacrifice almost as much as for his beloved wife. And yet, he prefers staying on Coruscant for several days, instead of rushing out for help? Whaaaat?
JAN Gołębiowski The white blades are not her lightsabers. They used to belong to an Inquisitor, but she was able to purify the bleeding kyber crystal , which turned them white.
I feel the rank of commander wasn't rex's true title and was only given to him as an excuse so that they could go to Mandalore. That is why that clone still called AHSOKA the commander. Rex was commander for the day and captain his entire life and that's what his title was. Rex was emotionally attached to being a captain.
Rex always led a subdivision of the 501st, torrent company. However, he was assigned as the liaison to anakin, who presumably liked Rex early on and as a result kept being Anakins go-to. A company isn’t big enough to take a planet, but a regiment or battalion would be okay. To allow Rex to lead this, he would be promoted to Commander. As for the other 501st officers, no clue who they were other than sgt appo
@@nicholashe1198 Well, we got Captain Vaughn in the latest episode, who died in it rip. He was Rex's replacement for the rank of Captain and sadly didn't last long.
Fulcrum wasnt a code name at the time of this, it was the name of a specific frequency that Anakin used and gave out to specific people. So, it truly could have been anyone by the time of the Empire
Jacob Cutler thanks man that’s the first thing that I thought when watching this episode. Also I’m assuming that’s why Ashoka kept that name as a reminder of her master!!
Also fulcrum is an actual word which builds on that and Anakin probably wasn't notified of fulcrum and was already looking for her and as he said their meeting had foretold so he might not mess with that.
I feel we are ignoring one important event that disillusioned Anakin from the Jedi. 1. Hardeen arc: “you lied to me. How many other lies have I been told by the council?!” 2. Ahsoka leaves the order 3. Padme
Anakin was a hypocrite for being angry with the Jedi. He accuses them of lying to him about Obi-wan's death but Anakin has been lying to them since Attack of the Clones by not telling them how he murdered both the sand people and Count Dooku. Anakin also lied about his marriage to Padme and her pregnancy since he didn't want to be expelled from the Jedi order. Also, the only people Anakin should blame for losing Padme forever are himself and Palpatine.
There was no replacing of crystals. While she was on the run from the republic she lost both of her sabers. He most likely built her 2 new ones. Plus the handles dont look the same as her green and yellow one
@@AlphaXXII This is why I miss the old canon for crystals, it made sense and doesn't bring up issues like this, from my understanding of the new canon for crystals is the user has to impose their will into the kyber for it to change colors but by that logic lightsabers wouldn't have a color if someone just slapped the crystal in and turned it on without the "bleeding" or whatever effect so assuming that crystals might have their own different colors like blue, green etc by default and only change when the wielder imposes their will on to the crystal itself which may or may not be something the jedi do. SPOILER: Maybe even since Ashoka lost her two lightsabers in the battle with Maul she will just rebuild them and put green crystals in them which later turn white like in Rebel's due to her being in a more balanced state of mind
@@NaviLlicious I agree new canon is wierd, and I believe that ashokas lightsabers are white in rebels because she purified red crystals she got from somewhere.
Obi-Wan doesn't need to be on the high ground, the high ground just needs to exist within the battle; Obi-Wan knows that when he has the low ground, he really has the high ground, from a certain point of view; see Diagram A. Look at his battle record: Maul: Has low ground, wins Example A Dooku: No high ground, loses Dooku rematch: No high ground, loses Example B. Greivous: Has low ground, wins Example C Vader: Has high ground, wins Vader rematch: No high ground, loses Obi-Wan with the high/low ground is canonically the most powerful Jedi. This is fact. Had Yoda not denied his request to battle The Senate with typical Jedi arrogance, Obi-Wan could have defeated Palpatine in the Senate building, which housed a variety of different altitudes; this was designed so that the Chancellor could always have the moral high ground in political debates. But Obi-wan didn't fight The Senate, and Yoda soon learned that you can't cleave the Sheev in a normal 1v1. It took the Tusken Raiders years of conflict against Old Ben Kenobi to grasp his superiority in terrain advantage, as you see them visibly flee in ANH when they realize he holds the low (inverse-high) ground; this was the optimal strategy against a near-invincible opponent. Yoda is shorter than virtually every other fighter, which gives him a permanent low-ground disadvantage; however, his saber-fighting style utilizes a flipping-heavy technique in order to negate this weakness for a temporary window. You'll notice that, after falling from the central podium in The Senate's building, he immediately retreats upon realizing he is on the lowest ground. You'll also notice that, while training Luke, he rides on him like a mount, to gain the intellectual high ground and accelerate Luke's training. Example D . Obi-Wan's defensive Form III lightsaber style synergizes with his careful military maneuvers; as he only strikes when prepared, he can always hold the strategic high ground. (The business on Cato Neimodia doesn't count.) You'll come to realize that this is why Commander Cody's artillery strike failed against Obi-Wan, when hundreds of Jedi were killed in similar attacks. Cody failed to grasp the strategic situation, as the Jedi Master's elevation was superior to his by hundreds of meters, making him virtually unkillable. (You'll notice that all the Jedi killed in Order 66 were on level ground with the clones, thereby assuring their demise.) Had Cody taken his time and engaged the Jedi on even terrain, he would have succeeded. Obi-Wan subsequently retreated under the surface of the lake, so that he could maintain the topographical low/high ground. This is why Obi-Wan is so willing to fight against impossible odds to the point where he thrusts himself in immediate danger; when your probability of victory is 1-to-10, you have the statistical (and therefore strategic) low ground, a numerical advantage when you use your point of view to flip the value to 10/1 . Almost losing is, in Obi-Wan's case, certain victory. (See Example E). As we all know, spinning is a good trick. However, only the Chosen One can spin outside of a starfighter. Palpatine tried spinning, but he lost due to this technique (but this was intentional, as losing gave him the emotional high ground when Anakin arrived). The reason for this is that spinning provides a yin-yang approach to combat (based in Eastern philosophy on balance), giving the spinner the high ground from above and below. Only the Chosen One can master the spin, as it is their destiny to maintain balance in the universe. This is why Obi-Wan was so emotional after defeating Vader on Mustafar; he expected to lose the high ground to the spin, but Anakin fell to the dark side and could no longer use his signature trick, becoming the very thing he swore to destroy. Additionally, Anakin told Obi-Wan that, from "[his] point of view, the Jedi are evil". This broadens Anakin's mind to the concept of relativity in the context of the moral high ground, a mere step away from tactical comprehension. Anakin doesn't hate sand for the reasons he told Padme; all Jedi hate sand, as the battlefield can rapidly change between low and high ground on multiple vectors, so your perspective must be from a certain three-dimensional point of view in order to comprehend who holds the high ground. This is the only reason why Obi-Wan killed Maul in Rebels. This is also the reason why Obi-Wan hates flying; there is no gravity in space, therefore there is no high or low ground from any frame of reference (This also negates the spinning trick, as noted in Example F). In ANH, Vader proves his newfound mastery by engaging Obi on perfectly even ground. However, Obi-Wan intentionally sacrifices himself on the Death Star, so that he could train Luke from a higher plane of existence, thereby giving him the metaphysical high ground Example G. Why was Vader so invested in the construction and maintenance of the Death Star? Because he knows Obi-wan can't have the high ground if there's no ground left. Image A. As seen through the events of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan was known to be on friendly terms with Senator Organa, whose homeworld held large quantities of mountainous terrain, the perfect habitat for a Jedi Master. Grand Moff Tarkin was already in position to destroy Alderaan as a first target, as the distance from Scarif to Alderaan was too vast to reach between the escape and recapture of the Tantive IV, even at 1.0 lightspeed. Alderaan had been the initial target all along, as Obi-Wan with the high ground was the primary threat to the Death Star. How? Because a moon-sized space station would have some form of gravitational pull, thereby negating Obi-Wan's zero-gravity weakness; Obi-Wan with the perpetual high-ground in a low-orbit starfighter would easily be able to fire proton torpedoes through a ventilation shaft, although the Empire was uncertain of the specific weakness of the Death Star planted by Galen Erso (who was a good friend). In Return of the Jedi, you can see that the Throne Room contains a variety of different altitudes; Palpatine placed these there to ensure Vader's defeat. However, Sheev failed to realize that his weakness was no ground, and should have covered that useless gaping pit which does nothing. A common misconception is the idea of a 'prostrate position' version of the high ground, wherein Obi-Wan lies flat on his back, giving him tactical superiority from his point of view. However, this strategy is futile, as for the high ground to come into effect, there must be a differential between parties on both the x-axis and y-axis to a moderately significant variation from both absolutes (Angles only a Sith would deal in). For Obi-Wan's high ground powers to be in full effect, he must stand between 15 and 75 degrees (π/12 to 5π/12 radians) diagonal from his opponent(s) on any quadrant of the area circle; this has been dubbed the Trigonometric Perspective Diagram. (Diagram B). The total effect for conventional high ground advantage can be calculated via the MetaComm Equation, or f(x) = lim 0→x π/12 | 7π/12 5π/12 | 11π/12 Ʃ(x) (2tan(x) / 3sin(x) + (log10Δ)) * cΦ Δ = distance on hypotenuse (meters) Φ = Surrounding Force [c (variable) * β (Earth Gravity) * (pressure (psi)/2.2)] 'x' refers to the angle of contact between the two parties on, with advantage being based purely on position on the Y-axis, as the vast majority of force users base their perception on elevation rather than spacial relativity. The power of gravitational force has great effect on the high ground; too weak, and the high ground holds no traction; too strong and the ground becomes the real enemy. Experimentation has proven that the high ground typically holds significant value between .8 and 1.4 β (Earth Gravities) with maximum impact standing roughly equal to 1.05. Pressure is equally important, as it is a surrounding force attached to gravity (the high ground has famously low impact in aquatic environments). Pressure(λ) is measured in pounds per square inch (psi), to be used as a gravity multiplier (or division if pressure is sub-atmospheric; Φ (Surrounding Force) is a variable defined as β * 2.2λ , with no metric value assigned due to its singular application in the MetaComm equations. In situations regarding Obi-Wan and his relativistic point of view, you must substitute the Quadrilateral MetaComm Equation (the Jedi Master function), f(x) = lim 0→x minmaxƩ (2tan(x) / 3sin(x) ) * (1.2)cΦ [min = (|cos(x)| = 1) | (|sin(x)| = 1) + π/12 ), max = (|cos(x)| = 1) | (|sin(x)| = 1) + 5π/12 ]. The viable Φ field is expanded, as Obi-Wan has taken advantage of the high ground in so many different environments that he simply uses it more efficiently, and the min/max values apply due to his multidimensional point of view, evidenced by the Trigonometric Perspective Diagram. Additionally, the distance factor does not affect Obi-Wan, as spacetime can be perseptively compressed, giving him the ideal Δ value from his point of reference. In conclusion, Obi-Wan abuses spatial relativity and Taoist doctrine in order to always invoke his high-ground powers. To properly analyze the strategic genius of Kenobi, one must hold advanced knowledge in Philosophy, Mathematics, and Calculus-based Physics, and be able to integrate these topics together.
"Anakin, Chancellor Palpatine Is Evil" "Well From my Point of View The Jedi Are Evil." "Anakin, Palpatine Just told you to go Murder 30 children. And He's Tried To Kill Padme like 4 times. I get it the Jedi play Politics sometimes but Holy Shit is that a False Equivalence."
The Jedi otoh kidnap and emotionally stunt/deprive children, use mind-control to get their will done, hide, obfuscate or outright rewrites history to fit their own needs... Not to mention that they did not exactly act all upset when they found out they had an army of brainwashed children on a augmented growthspurt. Also we have the issue that many of them should never have been let wihtin two systems of a command position... And that is just the "modern" jedi.... Yeah... I can see how they can seem pretty evil... after all.. Palpy is one man... ONe man can be at fault... But when a entire sect does the same.. it is a bit more organized. =P
"Anakin, Chancellor Palpatine is Evil!" Anakin internally "yeah no shit he just told me to kill 30 children, but I kinda can't turn around from this soo..." Anakin out loud "From my point of view the Jedi are Evil!"
The last plothole isn’t really a plot hole. Filoni admitted that there was a miscommunication between the TCW team and the writers. They shouldve been blue in the book aswell
Fulcrum wasn’t a code phrase in TCW, Yularen says very clearly: “Sir we’ve revived a transmutation using your sub-space frequentie Fulcrum”. It was a code name for spies during the galactic civil war. I wouldn’t call the first two questions even plot holes that are answered cause they weren’t even plot holes. I would say that Rex had given up his Commander title after the siege of Mandalore cause he didn’t want anything to do with that anymore, just like how Ashoka buried her lightsabers.
That's true, this can be later confirmed in Rebels S3 E4 where they verify Fulcrum is a codename for multiple spies. Transcript is here: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/The_Antilles_Extraction#Plot_summary
Fulcum was used by multiple characters who were spies/providing essential information. Alesandr Kallus, for example.. Fulcrum by definition, plays a central or essential role in an event or situation. Kallus did this, Ahsoka did this, as did even Saw, except that he twisted it to his own purposes.
Episode 12 confirmed that the "captain" stuff wasn't a plothole. He abandonned the rank of "commander" by not following order 66 and being accused of treason. And he "never liked" being a commander as he said. Also, I think Dave Filoni put that scene in the last episode because he didn't thought of Rex as a commander when he introduced him in Rebels and so now he had to justify why.
Even though we know what happens, or maybe it's because we know what happens next that I feel nervous all of a sudden haha. The clone wars felt comfortably distant from the events of the movies, but now we are in pertinent times yo
@@kevthepoet Absolutely incorrect. Hayden's acting is perfect when expressing emotions through his face, the tone is his voice, and his body mannerisms. The bad dialogue didn't help his delivery at all for a good chunk of the movie. You're not giving credit where is credit is due.
cole schubert Exactly in the episode every clone repeatedly calls Ashoka commander because they still see her as the commander even when Rex was promoted he still saw himself as captain because it was a formality so the siege of mandalore could actually happen in all aspects but name Ashoka was the commander
i feel like he was emotionally connected to being referred to ask captain, i also feel like after he saw what all the commanders made their clones do he probably didn’t want to be associated with them by being called “commander”
Not to mention, judging by the timeline of this arc, it seems like he only held the rank for a few days at best before Order 66 came down and he deserted.
“Loyalty means everything to the clones.” Rex always viewed Ashoka as commander, not himself, so he refers to himself as captain even after being promoted
The whole point of the prequel trilogy is that the sides aren’t black & white, “there are evil on both sides”, the Jedi were just as sketchy as the Sith at times and Anakin saw the blatant hypocrisy of the Jedi so from his point of view they were evil and you can make a strong argument that he was right in some ways that the Jedi actually weren’t so good
Totally agree, just don't think the prequel trilogy did a good job in it's execution and it frustrates me bc these movies had some really evolved ideas and themes that could've created all-time classics in their genre, but instead we got *those* movies.
Yeah. Remember that the Jedi chose to be generals in the massive military force of the government that would become the empire in literally 3 years that sought to impose it's will on the galaxy by not allowing the separatists to leave. They literally fought alongside and trained the entire first generation of storm troopers "to ensure peace", which is basically the argument from most faschists. And you can't argue that the separatists were bad because they were being manipulated by a Sith Lord because the Jedi were ALSO manipulated by the same Sith Lord to impose his will on the galaxy and set up some of the beaucracy of the empire. In the episode of The Clone Wars TV show where we see the separatist Senate, they're mostly just people who are strongly against corruption in the Republic Senate and their taxes going to a government that would rather enrich it's senators and valuable planets than help planets that need it. Many of the separatist planets are backwaters because the imperial government of the republic has basically abandoned them (Tattooine for example) and allowed crime syndicates and injustice (like slavery) to take over. This also happened in real life too, the mobs and political machines in New York in the late 19th century became so powerful because they legitimately helped many people more than the police and lassei faire and massively corrupted government did. In terms of return on investment, the average factory worker was far better off paying the mob for protection and help than paying taxes to the government. And this only got worse as the war continued and the republic's attention was turned toward fighting the separatists than the well being of their own planets. And the Jedi also weren't firmly in the good side either. They dealt with bounty hunters, refused to stand up to slavers and allowed it to continue, and met with the Hutt's rather than bringing them to justice. They're ensuring peace became "ensuring the status quo" while the war raged on because they were distracted, which is probably why public opinion turned on them. And even before the war, even the grey Jedi Qui Gon refused to just pull out his lightsaber and rescue Anakin and his mother from slavery, he had to do it another way because ending slavery would break the status quo. Anakin probably wouldn't have fallen if his mother wasn't killed.
@@jordanchambers7178 It is a classic, even with it's flaws. I have no clue what you're on about. Those themes about how the Jedi weren't 100% percent good were shown in the movie. Just look at the Jedi Council scenes in all 3 movies and especially how they act towards Obi Wan, Qui Gon, and Anakin when we see them for the first time. Most members had this "dickhead, condescending" tone.
Did anyone else just get like chills watching this episode knowing what is happening and what’s about to happen like when they said Count D was dead I felt like Micheal Scott screaming “it’s happening”
Yep, I would call it "abusing the surrender system", by consistently doing this not only anakin but other jedis like obi wan done this, reducing any chances of any clones or jedis who are willing to be p.o.w from happening since they'll be executed
I don't think they have the Geneva conventions in Star Wars. Also there never seem to be many real captures in the clone wars, seems like prisoners do mostly get executed unless they're officers.
And he may not win any battles under his new rank of commander and prefer to remember the good days fighting alongside the Jedi as Captain, not betraying them which his brothers do whilst he’s a commander
That’s what I thought. When I first saw the shot in the trailer I thought it must be at some point during ep III because he doesn’t get told she’s pregnant until then, but apparently not.
No, Yularen did not say it was a message from Fulcrum, it was on Anakin's private frequency "Fulcrum". A frequency Darth Vader abandoned in separating himself from Anakin
Yeah. Ahsoka also could never feel Anakin's presence because Vader had consumed him. I wonder if Vader consuming Anakin made him literally forget things from his old life.
@@TechnoTactics3 Not sure if it's considered canon or legends, but Vader's Suit wasn't only life support, but also a Sith Artifact from Sidious to weaken him, so Vader was easier to control. There are several theories out there about how Sidious may have planned the event to some extent so this could happen.
Nathan-DTS i don’t think all of it is legends, because I am pretty sure that suit was meant to be a punishment for failing. Like it was like the crappiest quality.
@Nathan-DTS That's fine too, I don't consider a lot of Disney's canon to be canon anyway, mostly just anything from Disney's trilogy. So, if its legends then I might consider it canon, since it was probably part of the canon and not extended universe before Disney came around to the Star Wars neighborhood.
Plus, I don't think Rex wants to remember anything about Mandolore after Order 66. There's a fair chance that him and Ahsoka gonna have to kill his own brothers to survive the initial assault and escape. He'd probably see the Commander title as disgraceful and must have a hell of a lot of PTSD from it.
I don't think it was a day I think it was a couple days but still he was a commander for like 90% of the Clone Wars if not more and also he didn't even see himself as the commander during the siege of Mandalore he saw Ahsoka as the commander
Commander Rex plothole fixed, in the final episode of the clone wars he was demoted by jesse before the clone army attempted to kill them. And Rex comments “he never really liked being a commander anyway “
The art style screwed up Yoda too. Apologists like to say it supposedly looks like the puppet Yoda from ESB, but that's an utter insult to the designers and modelers who designed that puppet to look so real. Anakin, however, has 0 excuse looking this bad.
Rex's rank isn't necessarily a problem. "Commander" is a position whereas "Captain" is a rank. Given that the Clone army uses a rank structure similar to real navies, then a Captain is an O-6 grade. Equal to an army Colonel. He was likely acting as the 501st division executive officer or senior ranking brigade commander. So when they split he is an obvious choice to assume the temporary role of acting Division Commander yet keep the rank of Captain. This is consistent with modern military doctrine.
I agree with your stand and I believe that is what actually happened, but if it were a rank and they used real navy ranks, Rex would’ve been demoted, Commander is an O-5 in the United States Navy
Ye this isn't accurate. O-5 is commander and 0-6 is captain, and it has be notoriously noted that Rex is a lower rank than Cody. It's more modeled after the army/Marines but doesn't strictly follow them.
@soup016ps14 Yep. A battlefield promotion. Kind of like George Custer being a General in the Civil War but was demoted back to Lt. Col for the Plains Indians campaign a decade later.
You may be right with some things you wrote cause I have no clue about the navy stuff, but Rex wasn't some weird kind of commander or officer, he was captain of the Torrent Company which is part of the 501st Battalion. Then in this episode he got promoted to Commander of the 332nd, therefore having the samd rank as Cody, who is Commander of the 212th battalion
Considering they're both alive in the future... That obviously ain't gonna happen. Also after watching the newest EP it didn't happen. Fucking amazing episode btw
In defence of that Fulcrum plot hole I feel that Vader already knows the possibility that the agent is Ahsoka, but keeps it to himself as he wants to confirm and deal with the matter personally.
Rex’s rank of Commander is a temporary field promotion for one mission. Rex leaves the GAR after that mission. So yeah Captain is still his recognized rank.
Technically he didn't betray Ahsoka because he gave Ahsoka as much information as possible before he lost control Also I think he was just trying to say that to make kanan trust him more
My theory in the Captain/Commander plothole 99% of the clone wars he was Captain Rex, his very final battle (a one he will lose very horribly) he is Commander Rex, so maybe he believes that by going by commander is bad luck for him or something in that area
It's entirely likely Rex did just that.... Looking back at his history only wants to recognize his being a Captain, the time he was most successful and ignores the promotion he got for his final battle that he lost. Good theory
yea. i think it was position that he received not the rank. like on Naval ships, the person in charge is the captain but not every captain has the rank of captain.
The Disney version to lightsaber colors is better imo as depending on the wielder the colour will change. Ahsoka's blue lightsabers are a plot hole and that's Filoni's fault, there was no need to change her saber colours, it should've been kept green
Gabriel Portella because they are blue it means that Anakin replaced the crystals and they bonded to him. So I don’t think it’s a plot hole but it couldn’t hurt to explain it a little.
Gage R Why would Anakin do that though? And it still is a plot hole since in the novel they are said to be green. But I guess it's not really a big thing
Maybe it takes a while for colors to change on the lightsabers. Anakin had held onto them for a while, so they turned blue, but once Ahsoka has them for a while, they go back to green. That’s my theory. (We also see Anakin use a green lightsaber for a period of time in AotC, which I guess is relevant).
Chawklet Studios or the Son of Dathomir arc to show how Maul escaped from Palpatine, and introduce the two main Mandalorians that I forget the names of for the last arc.
I think they have , I think we have to consider the novel was originally written when it looked like clone wars wouldn't ever be finished. Then they had the chance to and wanted to give it full justice That the novel was taken off a load of platforms seems to support that
I wanted to explain all the "plot holes" but didn't even want to waste my time by giving them any kind of merit. They weren't even things I had given any thought when watching the movie.
Plot hole: When Kenobi faced Grievous on Utapau, Grievous says, “You fool. I’ve been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku,” as if that was the first time Kenobi and Grievous met. I know it was because they had to introduce Grievous as a new character is Episode 3, but still.
I'm thinking the bad batch does not have he chip in their heads, as they were a bad batch. Furthermore, they have Echo now, who probably doesnt have the chip anymore and who may know some secrets, due to his capture
@@OscarASevilla they probably have a chip there would be no reason for the kaminoans to remove/not giving the bad batch a chip and the separatist didn't know about the chips so how would they remove it from echo
@@joeait1803 yea, but the kaminoans dont like failures or bad batches, so I'm thinking they were going to dispose of them, but the republic vouched to take them in perhaps. Who knows, maybe their bodies and altered genetics do not allow the chip to properly work on their mind and bodies.
It is worthy trade no doubt about it all so I'm kinda sure Rex referring himself as captain and not commander is becouse he see himself as captain and Ahsoka as the commander regardless to what his rank truly was as for the light saber colors well for all we know Aniken might just switched crystals when he massed with them becouse he doesn't like yellow and green and later on Ahsoka will just switch to her old crystals back the light sabers are still the same hilts just using different crystals
From the Ahsoka novel: "What am I going to call you, if I can't call you Ahsoka?" he asked. "You'll need a code name at the least, so you can deal with other operatives." They looked out the viewport as Alderaan grew bigger and bigger. It really was a beautiful planet, though Ahsoka would always miss the whispering grass on Raada. Alderaan was blue and green, and a good staging point for a galactic uprising. The center, where the thread of all their hopes connected. "Fulcrum," she said. "You can call me Fulcrum." "Then welcome to the Rebellion." You can assume she chooses the name Fulcrum because she sees Alderaan as a fulcrum. But I don't see how her using the fulcrum frequency in Clone Wars, contradicts picking the code name like this. She could be inspired by the frequency as well as the paragraph above. Fulcrum is also an existing noun, so I see no contradiction.
Ahsoka at the time of choosing "Fulcrum" Didn't know her master had turned to Darth Vader. she probably chose it as a nod to her master, thinking he was dead and this was a way to carry on his legacy
The plot hole about Rex’s tank was closed in the final episode. In the episode Victory and Death, Rex is accused of treason and therefore demoted, as stated by Jesse. That is why he reverts back to his title of Captain.
And what's so hard to understand about fulcrum. It's not a person, it's the name of the transmission that was given out. Admiral even says so himself. On top of that it's not hard to understand that anakin probably mad a new set of lightsabers for ashoka and they trashed the old ones.
@@lvl2mankey he wouldn't even have to make new lightsabers you could just have to replace the crystals or possibly meditate with them for a while I'm not sure about that one
I love how much care is put into continuity in CW. Not only do they watch out for not making any plot holes, they always close others! (Obviously, they still make mistakes, but pretty much all the plot holes are nitpicky) Clone Wars is made with so much love and even the arguably rather pointless episodes like the ones with Jar Jar are extremely carefully crafted and competently made! I hope that in the future we get some additional seasons, that just take place anywhere in the Clone Wars since they can't work as a sequel to Season 7. An episode which shows Rex' first battle would be cool. Or other unfinished episodes like the Crystal Crisis one could be finished!
7:35 The Star Wars Prequel notably the movie intentionally made clear the Jedi Order were no good. The Jedi Order treated Anakin as an outcast from the beginning, were blinded by their hubris and arrogance further reinforced by their criticism toward Quin Gon for his out of box approach and the departure of Count Dooku.
Darth Vader: What you didn’t shot Ashoka? Rex: Nah she removed my chip Darth Vader: Damn I really needed you to kill her if I’m goin do this sith thing. You’re demoted
This isn't hard to understand. Rex and Ahsoka faked their deaths. Rex was just temporary Commander so they had a reason to go to Mandalore. Means he's no longer part of the Republic turned Empire when Order 66 goes down
The fulcrum plot hole is not that much of a plot hole. Since it was Saw who first used the codename and then Ahsoka used it after order 66 very few people actually knew the truth about Anakin. Not even Yularen. So the fact that he thought that both Anakin and Ahsoka were dead left only Saw and with him being a dangerous foe with the empire. The Commander Rex plot-hole is again is not a real plot hole. In times of War often officers are given emergency power and that is what happened with Rex and as soon as the clone wars was over he went back to captain.
Rex being promoted to Commander isn’t technically a plot hole - because he wasn’t made Commander of the whole 501st legion. He was only temporarily put in charge of the 332nd subdivision, and in order to fill the void that it left in the chain of command, Vaughn substituted for Rex as Captain. Similarily, Appo was then also elevated to the rank of Commander, despite the fact that he only held the title of Sergeant, so that he could lead the remainder of the 501st’s forces in the meantime. Hence why Rex never saw himself as a Commander, because his promotion was never permanent.
Nah the last plot hole is just the clone wars crew ignoring the new "canon" bullshit of lightsaber crystals getting color as a reflection of the Jedi or sith making crystals bleed or some shit. The real canon/EU explanation of crystals being pre colored and Jedi can just choose what color they want and change it whenever and sith using synthetic crystals is a much better explanation. So Anakin probably just swapped out the crystals for blue cause he likes blue.
also my friend, when Ashoka leaves the temple he (Anakin) says something like "I Understand more than you think" or that's what I can translate since I watched the series in another language.
Anakin: "I understand. More than you realize, I understand wanting to walk away from the order." Ahsoka: "I know." Anakin: *shocked pikachu face* (or something similar to that lol)
I would love to have the entire prequel trilogy remade in animation with some love dialogue in Ep II rewritten, Jar Jar jokes toned down in Ep I, Hayden Christensen’s voice replaced with Matt Lanter’s in Ep II-III (James Arnold Taylor is able to sound a lot like Ewan McGregor, so the transition is not too jarring if we keep Ewan).
@@tomasgabrielcarrizo8342 I think ANH with luke's relationship with his friends and the trench run would be a nice add, and in ROTJ helping make the teddy bears more terrifying.
I'm not sure he knows what a plot hole/"unanswered" question is. Most of them he put on the list are either non existent or easily answered with the films context.
Omg I do see Disney doing this. Everytime something dont make sense they make the original story legends lol. So yeah disney should make "The last jedi" legends also. Lol
@Célime Mörbt If I remember correctly, it mentions Rex’s rank, her lightsaber color, and how she got the Fulcrum name from Bail Organa. It’s a shame they aren’t keeping things straight :/
@@Daniele_1210 Just 1 thing inconsistency actually, and it's Ahsoka's lightsaber color. In the book they're green while in these episodes they're blue. Dave Filoni already said that it was because of a communication error between him and the writer of the book, which explains the wrong color.
@Lore Star No, Yularen did not say it was a message from Fulcrum, it was on Anakin's private frequency "Fulcrum". A frequency Darth Vader abandoned in separating himself from Anakin -- comment from Roger Lareau in the comments section!
You just had to wait for the last episode. In the final episode of Clone Wars, when Rex is called out for being a traitor, he gets "demoted" to which he says something like "i never liked being commander anyways"
Rex being “promoted to commander” was only the cover just incase Obi wan had to explain to the council that Ahsoka was on a Republic mission. Anakin said loyal is important to the clones, and they still called her command in the battle. Ahsoka was still the unofficial/official Commander
"I thought he was flattering him, stroking his ego. Trying to convince him that he appreciated his talent." Lmao he really was the one that appreciated his talent. When did the council ever thank him personally? Everyone especially Windu never agreed on his aggressive strategies and never trusted him completely. They always hid problems from him. Literally, the whole point why he was swayed away from the light side in ROTS.
The Clone Wars as a whole does do a good job at showing Anakin constantly doing heroic things and saving people, so it made sense why he'd be pissed off that the Jedi sitting in their cozy chairs would sent him the rank of master. Anakin didn't do much heroic in the movies until the start of RoTS, 4 days before the Jedi were killed. I guess trying to rescue Obi-Wan counts, but that also sparked a galactic civil war.
most of these "fixed potholes" are just given more context and weren't potholes to begin with and the "potholes" it creates again aren't really potholes, they are inconsistencies at best. Potholes are holes in the plot that make the plot not make sense upon closer examination, her light saber colors aren't really important to the plot and you even you gave reasons on how they could be a different color.
@@apalsnerg lol, he meant that what classifies as a plot hole are those specific holes in the plot that actually matter. Ahsoka having blue lightsabers could be a hole in the plot, but he meant that we would call this a small continuity error, not a plothole. The term plothole carries weight and that's why he suggested we shouldn't use that term for the things discussed in the video. What you did there is just taking what he said out of context.
i think point number 4: once you see all the material from this era (canon) you can definitely tell that the Jedi were not all loved. even from the inside there were many Jedi who didnt believe in what the order was doing.
Is one of the questions, Why no Crystal Crisis?!!! Ps, I'll edit this once I finish watching... Edit: If we got Crystal Crisis... I would have loved it if Anakin for a time used Ashoka’s shoto blade and sorta kept it as a backup or used it regularly...
@@dar-nakkallig im not sure if this is what they're talking about but here's a statement from the lighting supervisor of the clone wars: twitter.com/galiotti/status/1251251675873996800
Once Vader became Vader he wanted to erase his painful memories and wipe out any trace of anakin, he likely forgot about fulcrum since he only heard it once, this is explored more in the expanded universe
“Commander” Rex’s paperwork never went through due to the rushed nature of Revenge of the Sith. Because of Order 66 and the fact that Rex already removed his chip and was considered a traitor, Captain Rex was his official designation upon Dishonorable Discharge from the Republic turned Empire. That eliminates one of the Plot-Holes. As for the lightsabers... Anakin could have found two new Kyber Crystals for them, both of them being blue. Later on, prior to the novel, she could have found more Green Kyber Crystals and changed them out again to avoid more attention... or something. Look, Jedi can find Kyber Crystals through their connection to the force. And considering that Jedi can bond with more than one crystal, can suggest they can change them out. In the now non-canon Force Awakens, Star-Killer (also Anakin’s apprentice after he becomes Vader) finds multiple colors of Kyber Crystals to wield all the different colors: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, etc... so it’s not impossible for Anakin and later Ahsoka to find more Kyber Crystals to use in those lightsabers. Anakin was doing a “humblebrag” when he said they were better, since his color is blue compared to her green. Thoughts??
Force Unleashed not Awakens and the different colors of saber was a game mechanic not part of the canon of the game in the storyline it was red and then blue just like in fallen order where in the canon of the game his lightsaber is blue but then you can change it.
@@michael6091 that's not your place to say that but I wish it was too although he was a little overpowered then again Disney made Rey "skywalker" Palpatine.
After the battle of Courscant, Padmé tells Anakin she’s pregnant, to which Anakin is surprised, but in the very first episode of this season we see that he knows she’s pregnant. When did she actually get pregnant, when did he actually find out? I can’t be the only one who realized that plot hole
This is the comment I was looking for. She looks clearly pregnant in tge episode, but in the beginning of the Revenge of the Sith she tells him and he is surprised. Huh?
The issue of Ahsoka's lightsabers has long since been addressed, since we first saw them being blue quite a while ago now. Basically the book is wrong but its such a small detail that the story group dont consider it a problem. As for why they ended up blue, this was addressed by Pablo back when the Ahsoka novel first came out. When a lightsaber is disassembled amd reassembled, the kyber crystal has to be re-attuned. And attuing a crystal is what gives it its colour. So if Anakin disassembled and reassembled Ahsoka's lightsabers (which we can assume he did), he had to re-attune the crystals, and as a result of that the colour changed. To be clear it *has not* been confirmed _why_ they do that, only that they do.
I always assumed Obi wan was the obvious choice for his mastery of soresu, being called the absolute master of it, specialized in handling a big amount of lightsabers against him at once (seen in his fight against savage and maul) and since grevious had killed or overwhelmed all other jedi, the best counter would be the jedi with the best defense, ergo Obi wan was chosen
Kinda jumped the gun on the “captain” Rex plot hole. Since in the last episode he gets demoted stripped of rank and makes the comment that he hated being a commander, it makes more sense that he would introduce himself as the rank that he was proud to be, rather than the one associated with the worst day of his life.
I feel like since most people are talking about the three new plot holes I would talk about the first question that the video said was answered. It has a very simple answer, Kenobi and Anakin don't just stay at the capital all the time. They are after all, in a war. It makes sense that when the capital was attacked reinforcements would be sent from all over the galaxy to assist. The battle we already see going on is just the defence fleet and any other reinforcements that already arrived fighting the CIS Fleet, and as soon as they are able the two Jedi rush to assist the Republic's forces.
When Jesse declares Rex traitor and states he will be demoted from Commander and executed, Rex whispers that he never wanted to be a Commander. So that "demotion" covers this little hole.
About Fulcrum you have to remember that the Empire was a little too busy conquering worlds and they had the Rebellion to deal with so Fulcrum just easily slipped in without Vader or anyone in the Empire realizing it until Thrawn came along
These were the 5 biggest plotholes closed (and 3 new ones opened) by the newest episode of the Clone Wars. Which do you think was the best (and worst) one?
Ashoka and her lightsabers,
This is interesting, since in rebels she has white blades
And I think when she left the order the green kyber krystals were destroyed, bcs she's no longer to be a Jedi, and it's some kind of tradition, BCs kyber Krystal is personally picked up and when not necesarry, he does not have to be around
Anakin just replaced this for Ashoka favor
Also, Rex reffered to himself as captain, bcs he was captain nearly all clone Wars, so the rank for him doesn't really matter
''in my book experience outranks everything ''
he don't give a shi-- bantha
Lore Star I think the fact he was still called a Captain in other, later works (detailed events after Order 66 and the formation of the Galactic Empire) was that he was granted illegitimately the rank of Commander, so as to make certain that Bo and Ahsoka could go to Mandalore and taking into consideration that Ahsoka couldn’t be a Jedi commander anymore, but an “advisor” to “Commander” Rex. That or he had not yet had his rank updated in the system. Thus, was not “officially” a commander.
That’s just my theory, though, at this time until the solution presents itself.
Creeker2001 Reviews and Montages Wait, what? Where was this? I never noticed it.
About "commander" Shakendata expained, and about blue lightsabers - well, that's the only one which is left uncertain
Though, I have another plot hole: so, in episode III Anakin knows, that Ahsoka is on Mandalore, pinning down Maul.
That’s a better explanation/theory than what I had replied to Lore Star with. 👍🏻👌🏻
@Edgar Pedroza She never formally returned. She's just an Advisor at this point, like what Anakin said in the episode.
@Edgar Pedroza Haha, very true.... ;(
@@nicholashe1198 Well, we got Captain Vaughn in the latest episode, who died in it rip. He was Rex's replacement for the rank of Captain and sadly didn't last long.
Fulcrum wasnt a code name at the time of this, it was the name of a specific frequency that Anakin used and gave out to specific people. So, it truly could have been anyone by the time of the Empire

1. Hardeen arc: “you lied to me. How many other lies have I been told by the council?!”
2. Ahsoka leaves the order
3. Padme
Acdragonrider Videos that’s 3 events
Anakin was a hypocrite for being angry with the Jedi. Anakin also lied about his marriage to Padme and her pregnancy since he didn't want to be expelled from the Jedi order.

"How did they turn blue?"
Bro... Anakin replaced the crystals. It doesn't take a huge leap in logic to figure that out
Lightsabers turn a certain color based on the individual Jedi. You can let just put a different color in, that's not how it works
SPOILER:
Maybe even since Ashoka lost her two lightsabers in the battle with Maul she will just rebuild them and put green crystals in them which later turn white like in Rebel's due to her being in a more balanced state of mind
@@NaviLlicious I agree new canon is wierd, and I believe that ashokas lightsabers are white in rebels because she purified red crystals she got from somewhere.
Finley Jarvis Its really inconsistent
4th plot-hole: Maul lost to Ahsoka when he had the high ground.
Obi-Wan doesn't need to be on the high ground, the high ground just needs to exist within the battle; Obi-Wan knows that when he has the low ground, he really has the high ground, from a certain point of view; see Diagram A.
Look at his battle record:
Maul: Has low ground, wins Example A
Dooku: No high ground, loses
Dooku rematch: No high ground, loses Example B.
Greivous: Has low ground, wins Example C
Vader: Has high ground, wins
Vader rematch: No high ground, loses
Obi-Wan with the high/low ground is canonically the most powerful Jedi.
The total effect for conventional high ground advantage can be calculated via the MetaComm Equation, or f(x) = lim 0→x π/12 | 7π/12 5π/12 | 11π/12 Ʃ(x) (2tan(x) / 3sin(x) + (log10Δ)) * cΦ
Δ = distance on hypotenuse (meters)
Φ = Surrounding Force [c (variable) * β (Earth Gravity) * (pressure (psi)/2.2)]
'x' refers to the angle of contact between the two parties on, with advantage being based purely on position on the Y-axis, as the vast majority of force users base their perception on elevation rather than spacial relativity.
Obi Wan didn't have the high ground either when he beat him.
Or you could say Ahsoka won by taking the high ground.

Came to say this.

Don't forget the ARC trooper told him he stripped his rank of commander for treason after helping Ashoka.
Yeah well this guy decided to make this video before the whole season finished
Mister Erelios Jessie strips his rank from him and he says “never wanted to be a commander anyway”
Im like 50% sure when Ahsoka was sending Erza off to find Rex... Her description was "a great military commander" when referring to Rex.

Exactly in the episode every clone repeatedly calls Ashoka commander because they still see her as the commander even when Rex was promoted he still saw himself as captain because it was a formality so the siege of mandalore could actually happen in all aspects but name Ashoka was the commander
@@thepunisher6674 Yes, exactly! Those are very good points. The title of commander was just a formality to Rex.
i feel like he was emotionally connected to being referred to ask captain, i also feel like after he saw what all the commanders made their clones do he probably didn’t want to be associated with them by being called “commander”
The whole point of the prequel trilogy is that the sides aren’t black & white, “there are evil on both sides”, the Jedi were just as sketchy as the Sith at times and Anakin saw the blatant hypocrisy of the Jedi so from his point of view they were evil and you can make a strong argument that he was right in some ways that the Jedi actually weren’t so good
THANK YOU !!!
@@rastarapha You're welcome.

Imagine declaring plot holes without even finishing the series 😆
Seriously... he should have left out the left over plot holes part all together so the video would age better.
Rex is part of the Army not Navy so in real life US ranks he’s a 0-3 not 0-6 and Commander is 0-5 =Lt Colonel

My theory in the Captain/Commander plothole
99% of the clone wars he was Captain Rex, his very final battle (a one he will lose very horribly) he is Commander Rex, so maybe he believes that by going by commander is bad luck for him or something in that area
I think that's a pretty good explanation
It's entirely likely Rex did just that.... Looking back at his history only wants to recognize his being a Captain, the time he was most successful and ignores the promotion he got for his final battle that he lost. Good theory
Or maybe he just realizes it wasn’t a true promotion, but an excuse to let Ashoka leader troopers on Mandalore
Maybe Commander is a temporary rank given to a clone detachment. Rex is still 501st overall maybe he still a Captain and got promoted temporarily
Maybe when he removed his brain chip, he lost some of his memory?

LeopoldstadtMovies exactly!! Jesse says that he’s demoted and Rex says “ ah well I never liked being a commander too much anyways”
In the military, field promotions are often temporary. Rex's rank probably reverted back to his old one after the battle.

If the color crystals were still a thing it wouldn't have been a plot hole, but hey... Disney.
The Disney version to lightsaber colors is better imo as depending on the wielder the colour will change.
Ahsoka's blue lightsabers are a plot hole and that's Filoni's fault, there was no need to change her saber colours, it should've been kept green
@@bobegnops5601 Both ideas for the crystals are good but conflict with each other.
The episodes with Rafa and trace were wasted of episodes idk why Disney decided to add them in

"Then welcome to the Rebellion."
You can assume she chooses the name Fulcrum because she sees Alderaan as a fulcrum. But I don't see how her using the fulcrum frequency in Clone Wars, contradicts picking the code name like this. She could be inspired by the frequency as well as the paragraph above.
Fulcrum is also an existing noun, so I see no contradiction.

wrt Rex; The military calls that a 'Battlefield Rank/Promotion'.
You know the video is shit when "Why Anakin and Obi were late for a battle" is a plothole that needs to be answered.
You really call those three “Plotholes”? HA! More like divots
Immediately calls Rex a captain
They’re blue! They’re blue now? - They’re blue now.
10/10
You just had to wait for the last episode. In the final episode of Clone Wars, when Rex is called out for being a traitor, he gets "demoted" to which he says something like "i never liked being commander anyways"
Rex being “promoted to commander” was only the cover just incase Obi wan had to explain to the council that Ahsoka was on a Republic mission. Anakin said loyal is important to the clones, and they still called her command in the battle. Ahsoka was still the unofficial/official Commander
"I thought he was flattering him, stroking his ego. Trying to convince him that he appreciated his talent."
Lmao he really was the one that appreciated his talent.
Regarding Rex‘s rank, didn’t Jessie demote him in the end and he answered something like "I never liked that title anyway"?
most of these "fixed potholes" are just given more context and weren't potholes to begin with and the "potholes" it creates again aren't really potholes, they are inconsistencies at best. Potholes are holes in the plot that make the plot not make sense upon closer examination, her light saber colors aren't really important to the plot and you even you gave reasons on how they could be a different color.
"Potholes are holes in the plot"
Yeah bud, they sure are.
The move Anakin pulls at the start of Mandalore Arc is a lesson he learnt from Obi Wan in the clone wars! False surrender
Is one of the questions, Why no Crystal Crisis?!!!
Ps, I'll edit this once I finish watching...
Edit: If we got Crystal Crisis... I would have loved it if Anakin for a time used Ashoka’s shoto blade and sorta kept it as a backup or used it regularly...
after this arc theyre gonna finish the other arcs as like a "lost season" series for clone wars on disney plus
Xfy Skr, wait where’s your source? I don't want false hope for Crystal Crisis...
I've heard this too, but it's still just a rumor.
Lore Star, which is why I wants proofs!!!!
@@dar-nakkallig im not sure if this is what they're talking about but here's a statement from the lighting supervisor of the clone wars:
twitter.com/galiotti/status/1251251675873996800
Once Vader became Vader he wanted to erase his painful memories and wipe out any trace of anakin, he likely forgot about fulcrum since he only heard it once, this is explored more in the expanded universe
I love that the imagery used when the Jedi are doing something evil is usually Yoda dancing over the burning sacred texts
Thoughts??
RedDragonForce2 Star killer will always be canon no matter what Disney says
Force Unleashed not Awakens and the different colors of saber was a game mechanic not part of the canon of the game in the storyline it was red and then blue just like in fallen order where in the canon of the game his lightsaber is blue but then you can change it.
@@michael6091 that's not your place to say that but I wish it was too although he was a little overpowered then again Disney made Rey "skywalker" Palpatine.
Korbin Klawitter I meant Unleashed, but from a story perspective, it would have be finding Kyber Crystals to change the color of his lightsabers.
After the battle of Courscant, Padmé tells Anakin she’s pregnant, to which Anakin is surprised, but in the very first episode of this season we see that he knows she’s pregnant. When did she actually get pregnant, when did he actually find out? I can’t be the only one who realized that plot hole
he just thought she was fat
He's a bit dense is all
Griffin McCaffery
I know we as the audience know she’s preggers. Did they mention it in the episode?
This is the comment I was looking for. She looks clearly pregnant in tge episode, but in the beginning of the Revenge of the Sith she tells him and he is surprised. Huh?
@@roosa8159 To be fair it could've just been the outfit.
Thanks for adding thrawn theme in video, nice to watch and listen this bro
Glad you like it
@@LoreStar keep it up bro
With the demotion he was also supposed to be executed, that didn't occur.
Field promotion are not always permanent (acting roles)
Yes however Rex's was because he wasn't technically in field
"Galactic star battle"
*Spits tea in disgust*
Visable confusion
"more evil than Palpatine? Who instructed Maul to kill Qui-Gon?" - a line that would've changed everything.
The Commander Rex Plot Hole is resolved in the Last Episode of Clone Wars where he is getting Demoted to Captain
So Vader and Yularen are stupid?
Андрей Шурочка I never said that
