I promoted your first video I seen, then heard this one, and just had to subscribe. I've been playing professionally for 51 years, but your style of teaching is very impressive, and I feel I may actually learn something from you.
Lauren, I know you have so many followers. We have communicated several times. I am the Chicago Public School graduate who is a 100% disabled veteran teaching guitar to other disabled vets. This is another example why I promote your site. Yesterday I gave a student your site to assist her to learn Let it Be. She was very excited and thought you were amazing as well. She said she will follow you
Dennis wow! Thank you so much for spreading the word. I absolutely love helping our vets. You know they hold a special place near and dear to my heart.
Exactly. She is the very best imo. I had tried learning to play as a child and teenager because my whole family plays instruments and for the life of me, I either couldn't learn or deep down really didn't want to. But about 6 months ago I bought me 2 new fender acoustics to try and deal with stress and depression and was determined to figure it out. Almost gave up until one day I stumbled upon Laurens videos and by golly I figured it out and just in six months I learned over 15 different chords and I can play 5 full songs or so. I'm still amazed tbh. So thank you Lauren. You really are the best. Always looking forward to your videos. Plz keep up the amazing work
Thank You. You are great. I'm a 67 year old that just started playing a couple of months ago. Your videos give me confidence to persevere. Thank you! Love this lesson.
Listen folks, how many times do I have to tell ye that this young lady is an awesome teacher,in fact she's the best on You tube, cos she doesn't go too fast and always explains everything so well, and the bonus is she actually sings as well.Believe me, I have spent most of my life teaching.
@@LaurenBateman ok i guess i text you to much but you empress me Lauren Bateman so hope you have a wonderful day and reach that million dollar mark because I tell a lot of to go to you good luck 🤞
Lauren, you are an angel. I play since 6 years, learning on my own using books from the music academy Belgium. I can play some fingerpicking and know some songs by heart. But once I knew a 20 songs, I stopped learning. Untill I stumbled on your lessonswebsite. And from that moment, I am motivated again to improve my playing, just because the way you give your lessons. You give these lessons with a lot of love and enthousiasme and this motivates the watcher to improve him/hereself. It is a lot of fun following your courses. Many thanks for all your efforts, you make a lot of people very happy.....!!!
I found this channel about a week ago. An hour ago, I was playing my guitar and happen to play the intro of The Sound of Silence, and wanted to see if there were any good video tutorials. Lo and behold!
Thanks for the lesson! Your travis picking instruction has me hooked on finger picking songs now, I've rediscovered my dusty old guitar. More Simon and Garfunkel please!
Well I can really follow your teaching Thank you so,so much you are all mazing. I am going to go to your website and see if you have any other resources. I really feel like I could finally move on!! I’ve been stuck in the same old spot far too long now, that spot between knowing chords and trying to make it sound like something. I’m seventy years old so I don’t want to spend what time I have just treading in the same spot. Thanks Lauren you have a great way of teaching!!!!
I never say no to Paul SImon songs my friend. Thank you SO much for doing this. One that I would love to learn is Father and Daughter but that's on a difficult level but hear it anyway.
Hi. Lauren. Just as I predicted when I first saw you a while ago think you were in 70 k area.. Now 118 thousand subscribers. Yeah::: I recognized your outstanding abilities to teaching. You worked your butt off. Congratulations 🎉 on your great success. Paul. .
Nice use of stress when you sang some of the words, it makes it unique to you. I think that is what makes any form of art unique to us all, we put our own style into it.
Another brilliant lesson LB :) heard Paul Simon do this a few years ago as his encore n the place went wild :) great lesson for beginners n intermediate players !

Heather, thank you so much. So happy to have you in the course and remember it's your guitar journey so take your time and just enjoy every step of the process.
I just started watching a few of your videos the last couple of days. You are by far the best guitar teacher I have seen online. You explain things in a way I get! I love the fingerpicking version of Sound of Silence and I am working on it. I hate the F chord, but I'm going to learn it, even if it kills me! :) I'm hoping my wife will let me sign up for your course for Christmas.

Thank you very much for this lesson Lauren ! You have given me all the important musical information that I need for me to be able to learn this song ! Cheers ! :) will take to my music teacher to learn . For more variation , after the walk down from c major to c/b to a minor finger picking pattern I might just go back up to the c major finger picking pattern , then finish off with the G major finger picking pattern and the final A minor finger picking pattern and then a slow rake of the a minor chord to finish off with to try to make it sound a little bit more like the original record ! :)
Thank-you Lauren. Awesome lesson! Such a classic song, timeless, and oh so relevant piece of music. Not sure how I missed this lesson earlier, but glad I found it. Going to practice. Thank-you again.👏👏
