Hello , hope you are doing amazing! I am Julie I was your service director on that flight 😀 I want to personally thank you for this lovely review. It really made my day and getting such good feedback during these challenging days of flying certainly felt very good. Very happy that my crew and myself could make your flight enjoyable and comfortable. It will be my pleasure to welcome you onboard again in the near future.
Air Canada seems to be the most bi-polar airline in North America. Sometimes it is pretty stellar and other times it lives up to is given motto of "We're not happy unless you're not happy." Thankfully, you got the good side of Air Canada on this flight.
For me its usually "We're not happy until your happy" Because unless your actually friendly to them, they don't really shine a smile or be nice to you, atleast my experiences here in Canada. And most of the time, almost everyboy on board are usually tired and just want the flight to e n d .
I’ve always had a good time with Air Canada so long as I was flying business class or premium economy, they treat their business class passengers fantastically, but it seems like the service doesn’t make its way to economy class.
exactly, air Canada is like a ticking bumb .anyway taking flight with air Canada waiting for the nightmare, two nightmares were enough for us, never again. we wont take their free tickets!
So, as a Canadian I admit the national pastime is bashing Air Canada. I've flown their business class a few times. I find the experience to be generally very good. I'm flying them early next year downunder and I am looking forward to it.
Dan, thank you for being kind to Air Canada. This has been my primary airline for as long as I can remember (I live in Toronto) and while I've had some disappointing flights/service/delay, the majority of my experiences have been positive (even when I've been upgraded to business class). When I was flying business back in 2016-18, the food was really good and it was presented in a lovely fashion! I'm not sure why special meals were coming out in carboard boxes...that was a letdown to see. For me, it's the massage feature and the adjustable firmness of the seats that make AC business class worth it! I wanted to be in Greece so bad this year but I'm trying to live vicariously through others at the moment. I hope this means that the Oskar and Dan channel will have a vlog from Greece soon! Travel safe!
I think it's just a Toronto airport issue, I'm pretty sure it's North America's major airport that sucks the most at being an airport (especially right now with the staff shortages haha) Although it is Air Canada's hub, and the busiest airport in Canada, meaning most people do fly through Toronto at some point, and I'm guessing that's where their bad experience comes from I might be wrong on that, but personally I've never had major issues with AC✌
I recently flew transcontinental in AC business between YUL and YVR and I was pleasantly surprised. The purser went around and personally greeted every guest in the cabin. The service was personable and warm as well. Food was also very good. All in all, a great flight! The only downside was a late departure from YUL due to the previous flight being delayed...
Hey Dan. I’m Super Elite on AC and can tell you that you got the Covid meals and service. Good news is that full meal service is back so the presentation is now way better than what you received. Although, in fairness to AC, during the height of Covid those fancy paper tray boxes were better than what many other airlines were serving.
@@dansmith1466 Flying 100,000 miles on Air Canada in a year OR 100 Air Canada flights Plus yup must spend more than $20,000 with them. AC SuperElite is awesome though. There is a Concierge Service, dedicated customer support, private dinning for International travel out of Toronto, Vancouver and MTL, Prosche Transfer service in Toronto (coming soon to YVR & YUL I hope) and a bunch of perks.
Classic….”sorry” LOL 🇨🇦 Thanks for the positive review of AC. I think they do many things right and also have much room to improve. Some SDs like Julie are amazing and it really makes the flight. I had such a Vancouver based SD who also made that personal connection to the passengers. I thanked her for a wonderful flight and she was almost brought to tears! They need to hear when they do a good job so make sure you thank great crews!
This summer I flew AC in C from AMS to YYZ together with my wife and two kids. I can totally confirm your comments about the excellent service, the Flight Attendants even helped my kids cutting their food - quicker than we got on my feet to do our job as parents.
thank you! i'm flying air canada from montreal to copenhagen in july. first time in business class - i feel so fancy! i've flown air canada lots (economy) and it's usually fine. don't worry about the bathroom/lavatory thing. we say bathroom, too. it's lavatory on planes for some reason - who knows?? if it's outside of our house (restaurant, mall, etc), we're more likely to say "washroom".
I've flown AC in Signature Class from Doha to Toronto (the end of a trip which also saw me in q-suite from Montreal to Doha). Whilst comparing Air Canada to Qatar Airways is difficult given how stellar QR is, AC has a great seat with amazing seat controls, the service was very good and the arrival into Toronto, contrary to what it is now, was very smooth. I'd still rather fly to Montreal and fly Qatar anytime I go to India though 😂
@@Evange Exactly, and whilst AC has their moments people tend to forget that the same issues are happening to so many airlines and airports around the world, unfortunately AC has become the scapegoat for Canadians and anyone flying them through Canada
I flew Air Canada on business class last week just for the flight alone! I had more fun with the journey than the destination (nearly just did a round trip to the destination and back).. I love air travel so much.. you get a place to sleep and a place to eat quality food! I just love sipping champagne high up in the sky 😁
As a Canadian/American, I definitely looked forward to this one. Never flown Air Canada international business but your observations are right-on and even had me LOL a few times. AC has always had this weird mix of doing some things really well and then totally flubbing some others. I think that's what frustrates so many of us 🇨🇦. Hope you got some time to spend in Montreal (my hometown)... it's a fun place!
Honestly Air Canada has really stepped up in the last 6-7 years or so. They USED to be the airline I would avoid and always opt to fly WestJet. But now? I’ve made a complete 180. WestJet seems more like a budget airline, in 2018 I flew first class with them from Toronto to London and it was extremely disappointing to say the least. Zero personalized service, meals on economy trays, etc. Just was truly awful, and that was BEFORE Covid! I’m excited to see that you enjoyed your Air Canada flight and also excited for the next video. Safe travels, Dan! 😊
WestJet has declined so much recently. It's disappointing to see how their focus on customer service has completely disappeared. I booked my next flight on Air Canada, betting on the fact that they are taking deliberate steps to improve their service.
@@teetertotter5787 with how airports and airlines are right now, westjet does seem to be doing better than air Canada at the moment so I hope yours isn’t cancelled mid air and you’re stranded somewhere like a recent air can flight 😭 but definitely agree with you!
Yeah, westjet calls it's domestic business class premium, has the same wide seat as Air Canada, but then there's no entertainment system and the food is just a snack box thing. But the cost is usually identical to AC. So like, they're trying to lure business travelers away from AC, but it's just not worth it unless you live in Calgary maybe. The Calgary Westjet lounge is solid.
Hi Dan! Being called by name has been my experience on all of the Air Canada flights I have taken in First or Business class. I can’t say it’s a policy as I am only a consumer, but that has been my experience.
Thank you for making this. I watched this video before my business class flight with Air Canada. For you the food came in trays. For me, I had a table cloth and a beautiful presentation. I felt like I was at a restaurant. Only thing I didn't receive was the care bag. Also my seat had a chair massage option. Overall I enjoyed my business class with Air Canada. Thanks for making this video.
The usual air canada food is actually decently good, as is their wine selection. And, importantly for people who travel often, they change out both selections regularly, but then also have some consistent favorites (the parsley omelet, or the smoked salmon salad appetizer snack). I fly the same domestic route semi regularly, and I don't think I've ever been served the same wine twice. Maybe because you ordered a special meal they just funneled you into the same system as the economy meals? I see people getting special meals all the time in economy, but never in business class. So two parallel systems for special ordering probably don't make sense for the volume. Also did you know, when the FA comes through and introduces themselves and then takes your order.... it's actually done in order of status? Aeroplan Super Elite are supposed to be guaranteed their meal choice, so they all get addressed first. Other status levels aren't officially supposed to be ranked, but anecdotally the FA has a list of every passenger and they're status level so when there's a limited number of meals on board, it's often done in descending status order. Which, in my opinion a fully cash paid business fare should trump someone who upgraded due to status, but the airlines have probably done the math to know a frequent flier is more profitable than occasional high-spender.
I've only flown them once, on business class, and I have to say, even AA has better service... Their hard product was good though. Glad you had a better experience
Speaking of amenity kits: back around the turn of the century [yes, this one....] I flew Northwest a few times in 1st class and their amenity kit included a battery-powered electric razor [courtesy of Givenchy], which I still use to this day.
Thank you for your review we are flying to Brisbane Australia and chose to fly Business class!!! What a treat !! We are truck drivers but are doing a first class vacation for our anniversary ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Daniel. So happy to see you back!!! Glad you enjoyed some much deserved personal time! What a great video on Air Canada! That’s really first class service! I’m so happy to see you again! I’m impressed with Air Canada. Looking forward to your next video! Have a great rest of your week! Mark in Iowa.
Flew Air Canada business and I was also impressed with the seat privacy. After trying some other carriers, it's amazing how little privacy you get on business class. I feel like that should be one of the top priorities for any airline business customer.
I have flown the Cross-Atlantic on Air Canada in Business Class a couple of times and will do so again next week on my way to Australia. It's not Emirates but it's comparable in the size of the pods and lovely service. The main differences are, that the drinks aren't served until the flight takes off because Air Canada is to lousy to pay the tax on the drinks, the decor is grey not wood veneer and I can't remember if we got a little bathroom bag from them or not and no PJ's either, like on Qantas. United's Pods are better because they fully close off but I preferred Air Canada overall. Also, from what I've seen of my upcoming flight to NZ ion Air NZ in Business Class, Air Canada is going to be way better than them, too. Generally, Air Canada is a great choice in my opinion!
What a fantastic Air Canada flight report video and I see the Air Canada view and food is super great and delicious keep it up my friend @ Nonstop Dan!!
Haha, thanks for reviewing air Canada business class. Being a Canadian and based in Toronto, I have flown quite a few their business class over the years. I must say your review is honest. Your meal experience at the lounge actually was the "best" in Canada, because at Toronto lounge you have to order out of bar code and there are only 3 hot meal options including a burger! The in flight service, I am surprised that it was served in plastic cutleries, usually it should be real knife and fork. The greeting by last name and personalized chit chat is very specific of this wonderful Julie, you definitely don't see that often on air Canada flight these days.
The special meals are served in plastic wear regardless of whether or not you’re booked in business class. You can see in the video that other passengers that didn’t request a special meal were served metal cutlery.
I flown AC Business Class both domestic & int'l several times; i get why Canadians don't have the nicest things to say about the airline because AC's domestic flights are rarely comparable to longhaul overseas. I had one out of 8 "not so fun" international experiences (without too much detail the food was the highlight) but the other 7 were really good. I was either addressed by my surname or first name (when they remembered my preference), the food was great (always choose the pancakes and ask for extra maple syrup!), the cabin crew were amazing and i completely agree with your comments on the seat. There are definitely better National carriers out there but I would still choose them over most Nth American airlines and many european National carriers too.
The livery on the plane is so smart and classy!! Brilliant review! Been subscribed for two years now and still never disappointed! Thanks Dan for your refreshing, impartial, honest reviews :)
I'm from montreal, I often fly from montreal to europe . always use AirCanada and most of the time I really enjoy it. have 1 point to add to your video, on that plane, avoid seat 7k and 7a, they don't have the same view ( 1 windows missing, it's block ). also, your not talking directly on the flight, where you ask not to film in the plane ? and another point, in the montreal international lounge , before the pandemic, they use to have an Haagen Dazs ice cream freezer... I miss that !! thanks
AC is generally quite good when it comes to Business and Premium E, that's the reason I go for business class everytime i fly from Toronto to HK. It is such a long flight and you will get almost the best full service from the airline
Finally you flew on Air Canada Signature Class. I had the opportunity to fly business class from Vancouver to Toronto and it was really amazing from the in-flight meals, drinks and especially the movies such as Turning Red and No time to Die.
Hey Dan, I recently discovered your channel and I’m in love!! I’ve been watching your videos back to back for days now ❤️ I was wondering if you were able to do a review of Emirates new premium economy? I’m flying in that cabin class in a few months and would really appreciate review 🥰 Lots of love Millie xx
Thank you for your content I really appreciate it I learn so much. I just started flying a couple years ago and I do truly love it. I’m in the middle of opening up my experiences outside of economy class to business and first class. I appreciate your reviews so much 💗
I flew Air Canada just a month ago, and oh boy, the plane descent was very smooth I could hardly feel its wheels touch the ground. That must be the smoothest plane touchdown ever, at least according to my experience. Just flawless. Excellent pilot we had that day.
You took your flight at the good time because since mid June, delays (and cancelations) at YUL are insane. On June 19th, I flew from YUL to CDG with Air France (my first A350 flight). I only had a carry on, so no bag in the belly of the plane... and no waiting at the airline's desk. Then, for the security... 1h45 of waiting. On my previous flight in May, it was less than 10 minutes. All flights were late to wait for passengers. I was lucky, the incoming flight was on time, so I had only a delay of 1h15 and no connecting flight at CDG. Major airports in Canada currently have big problems. They don't have enough people working. Same for Air Canada, where service can be different from a flight to another. I had a pathetic YYZ-ICN flight a few years ago while the return (to YVR) was perfect. But Air Canada is far better than US companies.
This is a good example to show trip report aren't objective, everyone have their own expreiences with air canada, someone having a bad one doesn't other obligatory will. Glad to see you back,it's good to take a break.
Honestly, a few months ago I took a business return flight to Bangkok with 2 legs on Etihad, 1 on Thai and 1 on Air Canada, and the AC flight was by far the most comfortable I was on any of them. It was quite shocking since I always hear people trash Air Canada, but in my experience it was quite great. Granted, it was 1 flight so I may have gotten lucky. Seems not though since you had a somewhat pleasant experience as well!
I feel like the AC signature suites have the best controls, including being able to adjust the firmness, but the seats are actually a bit smaller than other comparable airlines. As a side sleeper I do find ACs seats are not the easiest to sleep on. Whereas KLM and AirFrance, I can sleep on those planes as if I was home in my own bed, even if their cabin's are usually a lot more run down than AC's.
I'm considering flying with Air Canada on a 2-week trip to Japan (my first trip to any Asian country) and considering dropping an extra 5-6k on their business class as the flight from Montreal to Tokyo is over 13 hours - longer than any I've ever done. I've flown a few times to Europe - exclusively in economy class and the longest of those flights clocked in at 10 hours. I've never flown in first/business class before and figured this would be a good opportunity to do so especially as I'll probably be sleeping most of the flight to help my body adjust better to a 12-hour time change and I constantly hear Air Canada does a better job and is also cheaper than our own American carriers.
Flew business class from Calgary to London in 2021 and the presentation was actually really nice and they brought out each course separately (i would have remembered otherwise because it's my pet peeve when I get dessert at the same time as my entree, something about the two smells comingling just absolutely disgusts me??). I don't know what the box situation was about but maybe something to do with dietary restrictions? still, they should have plated it for you! but just for the record, others should know that's not AC standard practice :) Also, I asked for a Coke when we were just about to take off and they gave it to me, they just couldn't put it in glassware because we were about to hurtle through the sky with the seatbelt sign on. honestly, it doesn't surprise me that Canadians hate AC and international travellers love it for two reasons: first, you don't always know what you've got if it's the norm; second, the international offerings are actually really impressive but the short- and medium-haul domestic Economy flights can be quite expensive, sometimes with few frills, and often without many other options for arriving to your destination. So if anything bad happens it's not "well that's air travel for you," it's "this is AC's fault." Between the virtual monopoly on certain routes, and the fact that you're just not in the same mood if you're flying somewhere to visit your ailing aunt/ see a medical specialist etc than if you're going on a vacation/an exciting business trip, I think it just changes the perception for Canadian travellers. And perception is a huge part of your experience.
Your meals really surprised me. Every business class meal i’ve had, and even those i bought in economy came on actual plates. I’ve only flown their narrow bodies where i expected service to be even more spartan. Hell, i was astonished i got a hot towel service pre-meal. Maybe it was just a fluke…
Glad your back, doing what you loved to do. Thank you for reviewing Air Canada, we will give it a try when next it pops up as an option to our travel plans.🙂
Not sure if this is mentioned already but the Dreamline business seats are bigger - with seat pitch even 4-6 inches more . I wouldl like to measure but I don't find them totally comparable for very tall people.
My wife and I are planning on moving to Scotland in the next year and I've been afraid to fly for a long time *Thanks Final Destination* but your videos have been helping me get over that fear slowly. Still anxious, but I'm starting to feel such an excitement to fly instead of the crippling fear I felt as the last time I was on a plane, I was four. 😅 Keep up the good work. 👍
I used to be terrified of flying. Every turn, every bump... horror. Dozens of flights later, I love it. Flying is one of my favorite things to do now. What a way to see the world. The only way to overcome a fear of flying is to fly. You got this, bruv.
All I can say is research helps! I'd you understand the sounds planes make, the amazing amount of stresses they can take, the huge amount of training and process that goes into them, and the statistical likelihood of a crash (especially compared to driving a car) you'll get much more comfortable with it.
Well done video Dan. I flew to Australia earlier this year with Air Canada in Business/Signature Class, I must say the domestic outbound flights were good, service good and meals good. The crew on the way down from Vancouver would not get any stars for service. Having said that all the flights back had very good crews and service. Minor delays here and there but I would agree with your review, it was fair and informative. Flying back down to Australia later this year so we shall see how and if there have been any changes as we move into a post pandemic time. Keep up the good videos and look forward to more interesting content.
I recently took a trip from Chicago to Vancouver via Air Canada in their Business Class, it was a 4.5 hour flight. It was my first time and I had a fantastic experience with them. I will be flying them again when I make my trips to Toronto and to Montreal! Thanks for this review Dan!
I’m Canadian. I’ve never hated Air Canada but if someone asked me what Canadian airline to try I would definitely say WestJet. I’ve always found it to be more comfortable and it not being government funded means that they have to work for their customers.
Glad you’re back!!! Found you through Will’s video on SQ Suites, and have loved your content! Y’all are getting me motivated/inspired to find some biz/first for my Europe trip this winter! Looking at SQ business on their A380, enjoyed your vid on that :)
The seatbelt sign being on!! I flew AC SYD-YVR-YYZ, both segments on B787 "Signature" Class, they were SO trigger happy with the seatbelt sign, the slightest sign of turbulence and on it came. No hot drinks, so had to stick to alcohol. I liked the seat and cabin, but the food (normal meal, lamb shoulder) was average, ran out of champagne after about an hour (into a 14.5 hour flight) and all in all was just slightly better than an average North American carrier. I was very happy to be flying home with QF haha.
Such a treat to have you back 🫰🏻Air Canada 🍁 Post pandemic 😷 is interesting. It is nice to know they attempt Vegan 🌱 in Business Class and the overnight oats on your, what I guess, is your special order meal. So, they are at least trying. Most airline don’t try at all.
I regularly fly in Air Canada's business class on domestic flights and I've only seen them offer that level of service on 2 occasions. 90% of the time they will say hello and take your meal/drink orders and that will be the last you hear from the flight attendants. You may have had a better experience because it was an international flight? On the other hand, the meals on the domestic business are usually plated and not in a box like yours came, which is weird.
Yes, and the storage well to the side/back/bottom of your seat is for you to put the plastic the bedding came wrapped in, so the FA can grab it while you're sleeping. Duh.
Air Canada is our most hated airline in Canada but for good reason. The reason isn't that it is inherently bad but rather that it is basically our only airline option that covers all major routes. When it is the default option then people will experience issues at some point. Domestically there are quite a few budget options nowadats so Air Canada gets less hate for domestic flights nowadays. West Jet used to be superior option where they offered routes in the past for domestic flights. International flights are mostly served by Air Canada and major international players which are serving the premium segment of the market anyways and thus can compete with better service on what are their priority routes.
My gripe about AC is not about the seats or the planes, or even the normal service /food, it's about how the airline deals with problems, any problem. At one stage I flew AC enough to get to "Super elite" and the one outstanding memory is the staff's most pressing need in every case where something had gone wrong was not to fix the issue not to help the customer but to take endless efforts to find who is to blame. It drives me to distraction. Made to share a hotel room because of a late flight/missed connection; three para email on storms in Seattle. Lost luggage: long conversation about badly trained LAX staff. Missing catering; lecture on the number of flights leaving YVR. And so on. Any airline can get you from Ato B,it's how they treat you when things go wrong that differentiates the bad from the best.
The pre departure service is back Nonstop Dan! Orange juice or Prosecco. Warm nuts and hot towel. The new Acqua di Parma amenity kits as well. Glad you enjoyed AC!
You are one of the fortunate 28 passengers that get good service for Air Canada. Have pity for the 425 behind you are are in densified cabins designed to make long gauls as painful as possible. Another consideration is how an airline handles problems. You were already in aircraft and had minor delay. If your flightt had been cancelled and it took you 2 days to get in touch with AC to get rebooked, your opinion wouldn't be so stellar.
Loved the "sorry" at the end. LOL. But you were lucky. I flew J back in May and I wasn't addressed by name, not until like 20 mins or so prior to landing? Something like that late in the game. The purser did apologize that she hadn't had time to come around to all the passengers. But thanked me for my loyalty, etc. I will agree that the seats/beds are great.
We flew AC YVR to YYZ on 19/06 and they were the worst business class ever. One hour and fifteen minutes lining up to check in and Very poor food offerings. On the positive side the seats were good and the staff friendly.
I think it's hilarious that you know Canadians would be hoping for you to trash our national carrier. They are legit one of the most hated brands in the country but, when you compare them to the other North American carriers I would say they are among the best, only Delta would come close. I agree the meal presentation was not great, usually in J class you get proper dinner wear not a box. Great review!
My recent Air Canada experience was dreadful. Business Class London-Toronto was ok, food was extremely poor and the service pleasant but unremarkable. Coming back was a nightmare. Last minute cancellation on the return flight, no compensation yet, little in the way of assistance, then back the next day, a 30 minute wait for entry to the lounge, dirty seat and tray table in economy, dreadful food and then lost baggage and no AC representative in London to deal with it. It took 3 more days for them to return the bag. My patience with these guys is warring extremely thin
Thanks for the video! comes at a great time since I am flying Air Canada business from YUL-CDG, then MXP-YUL. Can't wait to try that seat!! Keep up the great work Dan.
Hi Dan! I flew AC 787 biz from YYZ to MUC a few months back... Purser mostly addressed pax by name, but seemed to be largely going through the motions, as were other FAs... Not unfriendly, but not quite like your experience. Seems I had a better dining experience, however, both in presentation and taste. Great review as always!
I flew Air Canada in economy in September with my family on the A220 from Seattle-Toronto and it was very good. The crew was so nice to us and the food was really good especially the sliders and the bag of mixed candy that we bought on board. My mom who very much dislikes flying said that it was the best flight that she had ever been on and wants to fly Air Canada again in the future.
You are amazing. Your channel is amazing. You should do a Masterclass on how to correctly use Membership points to get upgrades. Airlines are clamping down so much on people who open a. Are, get points and try to redeem these right away. And some catch you out, as in some might make you but the flight using points, whilst some will only let you upgrade using points but you need to have bought the flight first. It’s very confusing.
Flew YVR to SYD with Air Canada in Business back in December. Was not addressed by name, so I'd suggest they just knew you :D Service was fantastic, though, albeit no pre-departure drinks.
Well, after many months of stressful battle with AC over a refund after canceled flight I don't trust them with my money any more. They later rescheduled it by adding another connection, so it arrived after my original connection departed. They didn't find a solution and told me to call again 2 weeks before departure, maybe they'll find something then. CTA didn't see anything wrong with that (go figure, it was totally broken itinerary and according to AC T&C I was eligible to get the refund), so now I stick with more honest airlines and agencies.
Hi Dan, I am a big fan of your channel! Great work. I'm traveling from LAX -> Rome, Italy. I am currently booked on Air Canada and my first leg to Montreal is Premium Economy and the second leg from YUL to FCO is business. However I am seeing last min award seats (Business class) on AC for the following flights: Lufthansa Business, Lufthansa First, Turkish business, Austrian business, Swiss business. Should I stick with AC or are any of the other business classes better than AC? Lufthansa first class also pops up sometimes. My current itinerary has only 1 business class leg, but all the other flights are business class throughout!
I do everything I can to avoid flying AC home to Toronto from Qatar where I live. I mean everything. Usually I do QA to Frankfurt then Lufthansa to Toronto or QA to London then BA to Toronto. Now maybe I am thinking business class in AC isn't so bad after all and they fly direct to Toronto from Doha twice per week. But really plastic flatware on a long haul business class flight?
Great review Dan ! I like the fun style of your reviews! I have a direct flight ( luv the direct ones, ya) on Signature Class to Costa Rica this December ! Did Signature before in 2019 and it went great!
I must mention that ordering a specialty food plate (I am gluten free)is never a good idea when flying business….you get a generic economy meal and it’s often terrible. I just know what I can and cannot eat and stick with the regular menu, it’s always better! Off to Dehli in a week, two legs…Vancouver to Montreal, Montreal to Delhi in business …..fun times!
Strange. Flew AC signature class back in April and May. All the food was served on China along with tea and coffee. And now that you mention it, beds were made pre departure.
You can tell you're departing from Montreal by the sheer amount of Air Transat planes on the ground! I'm flying a full-fare points redemption with AC to LHR in October, I can't wait to try the Signature Suite.
Have never flown on Air Canada nor visited Canada. I wish I can visit Canada someday in the near future and experience Air Canada's service and hospitality.

We've missed you too mate, great to see you again
Hi Dan can you fly BRA One more time i relly like that company
You should do Thai new first class
We missed you Dan!
Hello , hope you are doing amazing!
I am Julie I was your service director on that flight 😀
I want to personally thank you for this lovely review. It really made my day and getting such good feedback during these challenging days of flying certainly felt very good.
Very happy that my crew and myself could make your flight enjoyable and comfortable.
It will be my pleasure to welcome you onboard again in the near future.
So awesome of you to say this as well. 💯
Noiceee
Omg julie, you should do vlogs from a canadian flight attendant, you seem like a really nice and lovable person!!
Any chance your lovely disposition could relay in an equally lovely way the need for the catering to improve in this expensive class of travel?
@@Tellyawhat4 Julie is just an FA, not responsible for AC’s catering choices.
Thank you Julie for the wonderful comment and service as always!
Air Canada seems to be the most bi-polar airline in North America. Sometimes it is pretty stellar and other times it lives up to is given motto of "We're not happy unless you're not happy." Thankfully, you got the good side of Air Canada on this flight.
Interesting… looking forward to trying it soon and creating a review as well ☺️
For me its usually "We're not happy until your happy" Because unless your actually friendly to them, they don't really shine a smile or be nice to you, atleast my experiences here in Canada. And most of the time, almost everyboy on board are usually tired and just want the flight to e n d .
ROFL! Soo true! I'll have to remember that motto.
Air Canada is only bad to people who have never had the pleasure of flying United.
Also if you can avoid YYZ, most of the issues with delays, cancelations, and lost luggage, disappear.
@@Evange Same problems at YUL...
Australia welcomes you!!!
Air Canada sucks in Economy, because that's not what brings the profits.
I think it's just a Toronto airport issue, I'm pretty sure it's North America's major airport that sucks the most at being an airport (especially right now with the staff shortages haha)
Although it is Air Canada's hub, and the busiest airport in Canada, meaning most people do fly through Toronto at some point, and I'm guessing that's where their bad experience comes from
I might be wrong on that, but personally I've never had major issues with AC✌
Why not fly United or delta
I recently flew transcontinental in AC business between YUL and YVR and I was pleasantly surprised. The purser went around and personally greeted every guest in the cabin. The service was personable and warm as well. Food was also very good. All in all, a great flight! The only downside was a late departure from YUL due to the previous flight being delayed...
Hey Dan I have a Recommended video Maybe another documentary for what happened to air berlin and why they went bankrupt also loved the video Dan!
Actually a good idea ngl

Hey Dan. I’m Super Elite on AC and can tell you that you got the Covid meals and service. Good news is that full meal service is back so the presentation is now way better than what you received. Although, in fairness to AC, during the height of Covid those fancy paper tray boxes were better than what many other airlines were serving.
He had an SPML. You could see the others guests had China service.
What does it take to qualify for Super Duper Elite?
@@dansmith1466 Flying 100,000 miles on Air Canada in a year OR 100 Air Canada flights Plus yup must spend more than $20,000 with them. AC SuperElite is awesome though. There is a Concierge Service, dedicated customer support, private dinning for International travel out of Toronto, Vancouver and MTL, Prosche Transfer service in Toronto (coming soon to YVR & YUL I hope) and a bunch of perks.
I got a 75K and I felt I heckuva flew every other week. I just cannot imagine the life of a super elite…
@@vitusyu658 you probably fly westjet 💀
Classic….”sorry” LOL 🇨🇦 Thanks for the positive review of AC. I think they do many things right and also have much room to improve. Some SDs like Julie are amazing and it really makes the flight. I had such a Vancouver based SD who also made that personal connection to the passengers. I thanked her for a wonderful flight and she was almost brought to tears! They need to hear when they do a good job so make sure you thank great crews!
So helpful seeing someone travel to document the current state of air travel in such a exciting and informal way!
Its a real shame that Air Canada gets such a bad rap for what is the Toronto Pearson Airport Authority's fault.
For the cost of a business class ticket, they should never run out of meal choices.
We are truck drivers but are doing a first class vacation for our anniversary ❤️❤️❤️❤️
im working as FA on AC, thank you for the nice video, the guy who served you was the best and sweetest coworker! Hope to see you soon
Thanks so much Mark! Great to be back🙏
Flew Air Canada business and I was also impressed with the seat privacy.
Thanks - yes, they're not bad!
Is Air Canada the best airline in North America? No, but they're doing a wonderful job of selling rail as an alternative to air travel!!!
As a Canadian, happy you reviewed Air Canada, in my opinion Air Canada is the best North American airline
Yes it can be good internationally. However it does not hold a candle to most Asian companies except for China based airlines.
I’m flying in that cabin class in a few months and would really appreciate review 🥰

Yayyy welcome back! Was not expecting this positive review! 😅
I got my parents business class and I am so happy for them! This is the first time they will travel business class
Good review Dan. Air Canada does put up with some poor criticism from some people. I’m glad you rated it positively.
Hey dan, i just got to my first business class on the turkish a321 its going amazing! I got the whole row to my self and the orange juice is amazing!
Just think about Air Crew and how they fly all the time everywhere. It must be safe then.
Big fan of your channel. Thanks for giving a fair, open minded review of Air Canada. Bashing AC is part of our national heritage.
Thanks for this review Dan!
rip, i heard chicago is a hellhole for the amount of delays
I dont understand air canadas inconsistency of service, sometimes its amazing, sometimes its terrible and it also sometimes just serve and and yeah.
Hey! Don't see any amenity kits on your website. When will they be back? Thank you.
Yup as a Canadian the mattress pad is a thing some people put it on before takeoff

Dan's little sarcastic comments enhanced by drag race cut scenes are the best. Love. It.
Great news indeed. How do I claim? Looking forward to hearing from you.
We flew AC YVR to YYZ on 19/06 and they were the worst business class ever. One hour and fifteen minutes lining up to check in and Very poor food offerings. On the positive side the seats were good and the staff friendly.
We flew Business from Toronto to London and Paris to Toronto this year and it was great except the drinks aren’t served until you’re in the air!!😮
Plastic cutlery, still? Why oh why AC. Excellent video as always Dan
Great videos! Happy to see you back!

So I flew business to mexico with aircanada more recently and there was a pre-departure service, although it was just drinks.
Glad to hear you had a great experience!
Was not addressed by name, so I'd suggest they just knew you :D
Service was fantastic, though, albeit no pre-departure drinks.
As someone from Québec and a fan of your channel since several years, your review makes me so happy! Thank you! :)

Just flew AC business YUL - LHR and back... 10/10 👍👍👍👍👍
I'm trying to find out the type of seatbelt buckles in Business Class so that I can buy an extender before my flight. Anyone know?
Other passengers were served on china. It appears that his was different because he requested a special meal.
Is all the food free? Can you eat whatever you want whenever you want?
You can tell you're departing from Montreal by the sheer amount of Air Transat planes on the ground! I'm flying a full-fare points redemption with AC to LHR in October, I can't wait to try the Signature Suite.
Been missing your vlogges so great to see you back!!
Hey Dan, it says your website is private? Is this only happening to me or have you taken it offline? Thanks
As a Canadian I would highly recommend Air Canada
Oh that's good to hear!
@@NonstopDan Surely better than the Calgary-based competition
you were missed Dan! happy you are back
Have never flown on Air Canada nor visited Canada. I wish I can visit Canada someday in the near future and experience Air Canada's service and hospitality.
