I've read much batman comics and everytime Joker has an unambiguous point to prove through his actions, that is 'to expose one's self' he proclaims we are not what we show to the society but instead we are selfish in our own actions everytime. Even if we want to help someone, it's a self-humbling psychology that makes us feel good and belonging in a society.
Empathy and self pitty are two different things that they have Empathy on the other hand is the ability to feel others not to satisfy your ego like harvey dent
human species is wired. in fact, all living organisms are wired with the purpose to reproduce, and fight for survival, and evolve. the so called Joker's efforts to break order and create chaos, is a destructive path to spread pain that he himself suffered from his parents and society. he is trying to relieve from his pain, by believing that world is bad, people are evil. and that's what he is trying to prove or reinforce to himself. it's a defense mechanism. every human body and mind is hardwired to do this. avoid pain and seek pleasure. that's survival. those who maintain and support order, are too working for survival, but in a constructive way. and due to inequality, and unfairness not everyone gets their share of good. some experience pain. and then, they have to seek ways to relieve their pain. there are good ways and bad ways to do that. Joker wad pushed to so extreme (so was Hitler) that it just crushed his idea of happiness and peace, and good in humans. this points typically to child abuse scenario. when the child sees the evil in its most pure form. and there's no one to protect him from it. because the caregivers are the abusers. the existence of evil is fine. there can be no denying of it. but there can be men, who can stand up against it, and protect themselves and loved ones from it. that's the definition of good. and that's what Joker never got in his early life, perhaps. and later in his growing years.
This is explained by empathy-altruistic theory in social psychology, which argues that our decisin to help people is based on four variables: high empathy, low empathy, high cost, low cost. If we feel high empathic, we will help people regardless of any cost or benefit it may entail or give. If we feel less empathic, social exchange theory comes into play which argues that we weigh the cost and benefit of helping people; if benefit, even if it is feeling good about ourselves, lowering our distress of seeing others suffer, getting approval from the bystander or the person whom we help, outweigh costs, we help them, otherwise we don't help.
When i saw the film what i thought was , " people are following a set of rules made by society and if someone follows that they are considered to be good but at some point of time when people really want to do something different they are constrained or restricted by these society rules ( that's when batman doesn't kill joker) . Next joker also wanted to prove that no person in this world can be completely good or bad (that's when he influence harvey dent) into doing something bad.
The movie “A bronx tale” is pretty straightforward, so I don’t think prakhar needs to talk about it but I definitely recommend others to check that movie out. It’s one of the best mafia movies, It deals with the question - who’s the tough guy? A regular working man or a mob boss.
@@manitiwari9233 Batman is the epitome of highest grit and revolution. When Bruce's parents died, he felt the guilt and extreme anger towards the criminals and because he couldn't live a regretful and pathetic life, he converted his anger into training himself to the highest levels possible- martial arts, cognitive function, knowledge of human anatomy, chemicals and engineering. After that, he started cleaning the Gotham city of evil. Bruce Wayne never revealed his true identity of Dark Knight which signifies that his assistance to the people of Gotham was genuine and he wouldn't stand the sight of someone's parents dying in from of him in a back alley. He is not a chaotic maniac who doesn't kill any criminal but leaves them vulnerable. He believes in his ideals, principles and has faith in himself.
The second joker movie also was on similar line, the world doesn't accept you if you don't fit their definition of a idol person, they don't care if you are hurt, disabled, broken etc. The world just wants perfection out of you and that's why it is said the world is loosing empathy...and at high speed due to internet behind close doors, we are lacking to see others perspective due to lack of interaction, and then it leads to self harm and extreme cases what joker wanted to say
In general, that's not the Joker's point or idea. It isn't based on a victimized pov. Like Prakhar said the second Joker movie is based on victimization. That's not the real Joker.
