@ He may not have been as successful if he did have his head in the game. I think he was so successful because he was so relaxed and just didn't give a shit .....Yeah, the hole's over there, fuck it, give me another beer, I got this ...

Cheapy Cheapy Maybe, I think it he was just a little more aligned in his life he would have been far greater. I think the addictions derailed him, as they do so many.
@@cheapycheapy4689 I think daly might have been more a product of the times. How many people between 1990 and 2000 were winning more than two majors? I get a feeling most were enjoying life and the good economy. Daly just did it a little differently, and he stood out. You could argue Couples and Love really wasted their ability. Even Norman only won two on paper, but he did have alot of 2nd place finishes. I do believe, however, if Daly had kept himself in shape physically, he would have been a different guy.
@wade Cole Actually for the 12 years straight that he led the driving distance from 1991 he never hit less than 54% of fairways which is actually some feet when you hit the ball that far
@tim191219 he's still pretty flexible, look at 0:15. well past parallel and his arm isnt any more bent then Couples, Love or Norman. I agree with you about not needing super flexibility to get the club back like that, but a couple points of Daly's backswing show good flexibility
You clowns who accuse any golfer who releases the clubhead properly of "flipping" make me laugh. At impact, Daly's hands are ahead of the clubhead, with a flat left wrist, and forward shaft lean. The dude generates more lag in his swing than anybody alive, and his action is pretty much as far from "flipping" as possible. You wouldn't know a "flip" if it bit you in the ass.
@colew001 the last 5 players to lead the tour in fairways hit finished outside the top 125 and did not keep their tour card...power is a fundamental, driving accuracy is not
complaining about a bent left arm (especially this amount) shows serious lack of knowledge of the swing, that or you apparently dislike Nicklaus, Els, Couples, Snead, McIlroy, Norman and the list goes on.. To say Daly lacked flexibility back when this was taken is either insane or ignorant.
Great balance, has wrists like a bear trp.
The length of his backswing is insane.
Just incredible.💪👍🥃
Should have been 3 majors ! He was so close to winning the U S Open. The man could play the game ! Carl Welty

Feat 😊
Is a Great player also great drinker
Great video of an awesome swing!!! Daly is a mile past parallel in that swing!!
I can go back that far, but the amount of swing lag this guy generates it unbelievable.
that swing looked a little bit like Jamie Sadlowskis swing.
even though his back swing is long its still a nice golf swing
Huge swing with head moving back away from the target. Notice how he re centers his head as the downswing begins.
The club head go's all the way back parallel with his hips, how he gets into position I don't know. I'd pull a muscle in my back trying that.
Young golfers look.Get lag like John and you too will be long!
crazy swing, john is a cool dude
now this is truly impressive, waw!!!! love this guy
You can't see it in this video because of the stand but I've notice that John Daly changes his grip during his forward press in his swing.
I knew he went way past parallel but he makes a totally new parallel with his back
nice swing but the backswing is a bit short, would have liked to see a longer more full back swing.
JESUS CHRIST!!! thats a hulluva swing.
I naturally swing like John Daley
My only Golf Hero!!
If I ever took a swing like that I would have to be put in a body cast for a year.
He pops his left knee just like Tiger.
The lag at 0:28 ....Good God.
@arniepga yes, he was 162 in fairways hit and hasn't gotten any better since

@colew001 check your stats, especially from when this was taken

must be double jointed in his back or something
Jeez how stiff is that shaft? Didn't even bend
For the love of fishsticks that swing is loony tunes!

@f0cusen Daly had this move before Jamie was born, so Jamie is a bit Daly =-)
this guy hits no fairways thoguh
Slow-mo shot at 10 frames per second on an Atari.
though*
Needs to work on lenghtening his swing arc ... it's only about 350 degrees. 😂😅
slow-mo and slide shows are not the same thing

looks like a longer Sam Snead
