JD , It's refreshing to see that after following you since your New England days, Your Head has not gotten too big and you still show the same excitement when you find a penny, That's Admirable !!You're a Credit to the Detecting community! Thank You and Stay Grounded Buddy !!!
I really appreciate the kind words! Just when I start to feel like a hunt is boring or not worth it I remember all I have to be thankful for. And that being able to metal detect is a joy. I truly enjoy trying to put the pieces of a story together. For me it's not about the best find, but understanding the location, mindset and period in history of when it was discarded or lost. Around rural old schools in Tennessee wheat pennies and seemingly worthless trinkets and oddball items are the most common finds, but speak of what was really in the kids pockets. A quarter was a lot of money to these kids, and even the teachers & parents. To find a silver quarter at a location like this in a very remote, poor area is thrilling to me. A lot different than finding it in an urban lawn where there was more wealth. :-) It's all about context!

great videos.thank you so much for taking the time.im up north here in calgary alberta so my finds go back to 1870,s at the most.keep up the good work.
Below is the link to another video of an old school I hunted out in the country about 2 years ago. I found a crazy looking buffalo nickel and some other interesting things: ua-cam.com/video/29rPPSgwIHU/v-deo.html
Nice digging Jon.Even in trashy and a difficult area that you were hunting, the T2 came through for you. Good job with the silvers and a bunch of coppers
Hey JD thank you for sharing. I use to get out and hunt as much as you but getting pretty disappointed lately with some of my spots!! But nice find with that burned school. Well good luck with your hunts! Thanks again, Joshbiz
Hi again schools are some of my fav spots to dig some ppl that work at them have run my self and my mom off but not very offten in fact i think olny 2 times outta 30+ we been to ..love your vids its given me that itch to get back out and go ask permission at some old homes 1800s in my town ..when i first lived here was in such a house and was diggin in the back yard and happened to dig up a silver qaurter 1940s my mom kept it but im sure there would be a few more ..most lots are mashed up to eachother maby 1/2 acre plots but still would be fun...🔥🐺😄⛏🖒
ahhhh, you hunting my dreammy location....old school grounds....all to yourself too. Shame on you for making me drool with silver. You lucky bummer. :) That's one of the best spots...ideal for coin shooting.
when we remodeled part of the old high achool, now elementary school,we pulled out the old gym lockers, there was a pile of pennies nickles and dimes,1940's on up. It was pretty cool,we split up the booty.I hate metal detecting sites where a building burns, lots of metals, junk. I would discriminate the crap out of it. I wear head phones all the time so I can hear the different tones. My detector has no fancy guages or digital readout. Its a coin shooter more than anything. Its a Fisher and is a late 1980's model. I have gotten to the point i dont need guages or readouts, I listen to the tones and am pretty good about guessing the tones,if in doubt, did it out. Nice silver finds. I grid search once I start finding coins like that. All you need is four utility flags. stick two about 10 feet apart as a starting point, detect up to those flags then mark another box with the other flags, moving one set of flags at a time, you can leave an extra set of flags so you keep your grid square. You were killing it dude, awesome.
+Billy Simons ummm,no it was remodeled,it used to be a high school, nows its an elementary school. lots of cool finds though. I worked there for a while and yes it was haunted, and yes I saw a ghost. they do exist by the way. If anyone asks,I can tell them without a doubt. When you see one,you never forget.
just a hint...dont rub your coins, ever, you can ruin a good silver coin that way. I actually knocked a chip of patina off a really old coin once,it dropped the value of that coin by a few dollars, but enough to count as to its value. Silver is always worth more unless you dig a 1914 d penny, imagine accidentally nicking or scratching them up.
My 6 and 7 year old are looking to get into detecting. what detector would you recommend for me to buy? i love your T2, but don't want to spend the $500 plus. Looking around $300. Thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing, very interesting. I'm thinking of buying a Teknetics Delta 4000, what's your opinion about this metal detector? Keep up the good work buddy!
jd just wondering you went from an etrac to a t-2 isn't that a down grade in machine? also I know you should dig every thing but ,I just can't dig every penny signal like you do ,my parks aren't as old as yours and when my safari says penny 99.9% of the time it's a penny wish I had your silver totals .i seem to do good in soccer /athletic fields looking for gold good luck ejnoy your videos
Just because you are finding 1960's coins, doesn't mean they were dropped in the 60's. I have 1960's pennies in my change in 2018. If every coin you find is in the 60's , then it's a probability, but then go with the highest date found to date the area. Look in your change and notice the variety of years.
Correct. When I find a lot of 60's pennies in one area it's normally a sign there's some old wheat pennies or silver nearby. But if most of them are from the 70's and up usually it's just more recent drops.
You need to call the order in to use the code on most products. This is due to manufacturer restrictions on pricing. The code is still valid if you mention while placing your order by phone. Let me know if you need help with anything else! :)

I can't believe you didn't pull any silver out of that old school with all those 60's pennies.
You mean this video of the one I linked to? Cause I did find a couple silvers in this video. You must have missed some of it. ;-)
sweet. It would be a shame not to pull silver out of a sweet site like that.
JD's Variety Channel
thats cool i never herd of that old school
WOW!!! what a site man! coins everywhere! that's awesome
I remember the Shell gas tokens from the mid to late 60's... thanks for your videos and this walk down memory lane!
Nice digging Jon.Even in trashy and a difficult area that you were hunting, the T2 came through for you. Good job with the silvers and a bunch of coppers
Had some amazing finds today after digging two holes at an old schoolhouse. Under iron signals...silver hiding 👍
Nice rosie and Washington. I like those shell tokens. Great hunt bud!

yea cool lol I kinda like haunted things
also do you know what part of Tennessee the one burnt down was in
Good video. It's worth it just for the silver quarter you found.

Great video! Love the content
That Roosevelt looks like a Mercury I found last year. The strange thing was that it came in as a zinc tone.
4:00 Train!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD
My 6 and 7 year old are looking to get into detecting. what detector would you recommend for me to buy? i love your T2, but don't want to spend the $500 plus. Looking around $300. Thanks!!!
I appreciate your input
Do you have a video of the detectors you use and which ones you prefer for certain situations? I'm curious about your equipment.
That's why i like Minelabs.. do a much better job screening out the crap leaving you coin signals much clearer.
My whites 5000d uses 14 batteries. Need to find lots of coins to pay for them before they run down. LOL
Those bud cans ring up nice ,hate them evils cousin
5 digit zip codes began in 1963
Is the bounty hunter pioneer 202 a good machine I bought one but it's still on its way here I hope I made a good choice
Thanks for sharing, very interesting. I'm thinking of buying a Teknetics Delta 4000, what's your opinion about this metal detector? Keep up the good work buddy!
that little car at first thought it was the bat car then when u called it something else i said ok
A swheat penny. My local coin shop hates Shell tokens and sells them for 5c to get rid of them.
My daddy used to drive a double cola truck in Carbondale I'll. He as in his 30's he would be 108 now
awesome hunt!
Looks like a school that could've been there during the 40's to the very early 70's. 30 years a school could've done very well.
It's on a 1935 map, so it's at least that old. A lot of the small, rural schools around that are no longer standing are hard to find information on.
yeah, that happens out here too in the NW.
The kids must have held a party after their school burned down.
At 1:53 is there another coin sideways in the dirt you missed?
A lot of things in the hole can look like a coin Those are white roots. They have fooled me before. lol.
*Double Cola Was The Cheapestttttt Cola Back n the Daze; Alsooo Knownnn sss ROT GUT...!!!😱😱😱😮😮😮🙈🙈🙈💀💀💀🐷🐷🐷⏰⏰⏰👀👀👀😎😎😎
The shell presidents token is from the 60's
I thought it was gonna be good!
i like your shoes jd

I do not know what year I separated wheats from memorials in my change. A man in the 1970's could easily have had every coin found.
Hey JD what map site do you use?
what part of TN are you in?
You need to bring a spray bottle of water to clean your finds. Please stop rubbing to clean.
Do you ever come to north east MO?
You can get ahold of me on face book.
