    That sterling silver monogramm belt buckle should be from the late 20's or early to mid 30's I believe. Awesome find. These kind of sterling silver buckles were not inexpensive back in the days. BTW: Your detector sounds like R2-D2 ;)

  • @paulrichardspencer
    @paulrichardspencer 9 років тому +1

    The deeper something is the older it tends to be, this is because as plants die the rot down and create more soil, in fact this allows fairly accurate dating if you find out accretion rates for the area you are working in. :-D

    do you suggest metal detecting public places or houses for find silver coins? because i have only found one silver coin.

    • @JDsVarietyChannel
      @JDsVarietyChannel  8 років тому

      Usually houses. Because in most cases parks have been detected for the last 40+ years. Your more likely to find silver at a private residence that hasn't been detected before.

    • @beargryllsethan
      @beargryllsethan 8 років тому

      ok thanks. if you don't mind me asking, how would i find a virgin house?

    • @JDsVarietyChannel
      @JDsVarietyChannel  8 років тому

      There's no way to tell until you start searching the property. But generally houses off the beaten path and main roads are places that people may not have looked int he past. Most old houses people drive by every day have been detected at some point. You just keep trying and eventually you'll find some really good spots. :)

    What?!! A sandwich! You using Jedi mind tricks again? Yesterday we got our fastest "No" ever. Door was closing before I could finish my sentence, Lol. Love the silver buckle, very cool. I don't see many silver buckles found at all. We found one last year that dated back to the 1750s but nothing since. One day you're gonna have to give me your secret door knocking mind trick. A breakfast sandwich?!! C'mon....

      Hooked on History I had one of my worst "no's" today ever. So bad I might do a rant about it. If I wasn't passive it would have probably ended up in a fist fight. I don't always get a yes. LOL.

      Silver Shano Thanks Shane. Yeah, been pounding the house sites this year. I'm closing in on 200 silver coins for 2015. I've been detecting more this year than I ever have. I'll let you know when I get the video up. But I actually detected around an old house where there was a civil war camp! It was the most incredible relic hunt of my life. I was told the site had been hunted many times before. Either people who were not good at detecting, had cheap machines, or were just cherry picking looking for silver. But there were 3 ringers and other civil war relics all over the property!
