Abuja was just a forest, it was built from scratch to what it is today, the military government during the 70s to 80s decided to build a new capital so as to free up Lagos, as it has become too populated and congested.
Yes and Abuja today is more organized and beautiful than some European cities. That is the truth. There are cities in some African countries, much more beautiful than some European cities. Even though they robbed Africa to build those European cities.

I went to this Eko Atlantic City back in 2022 but I was denied entering into the city 🙄😂
I wanted to see how far they have gone but I saw some beautiful buildings inside. Eko Atlantic City is amazing! 💜

They prevent people from entering because of terrorism attack. But if you tell them your mission or you want to visit one of the restaurants there, they will allow you.
Its a gated community, you must have a destination to get in. it's not a tourist location for security reasons
This is a huge project with a lot of capital. They started with dredging, filling, and building. It will take years to complete.
Yeah, at least a decade more before it's fully built up.
It is only in Nigeria we take donkeys years to finish project

It's expensive, a night at one of the apartment was so good I thought I was in heaven, the city is not completed yet, other buildings still at finishing touches . But I must say is for the rich .

Banana island is in the Lagos island area, we also have the Lagos Mainland, the airport is in Ikeja, Lagos mainland.

Nigeria has the potential to be among the top 10 economies in the world.
It does, and they have a plan to get there. Right now they're the 30th biggest economy out of the 216 nations, which is quite impressive for a still-developing African nation.
The land used to be part of Victoria Island in the 50's and 60's but floodings ran more than half over and it has now been reclaimed but it's too expensive
The airport is not that far but the traffic makes it look far and a new airport is already been built on the island closer to the Eko Atlantic

It will be home to the biggest American foreign embassy in the world... Check the news of last year, America announced it..
You're right. The US is building its biggest embassy on Earth in Eko Atlantic. Just over half a billion dollars it's costing.

Nigeria is divided into six geopolitical zone and the six geopolitical has natural resource in abundant like gold, diamond, gas oil and many other resource all over Nigeria.

I am an African and I live in Africa but I don't know this place. Big up to you Fam. You are exposing us to things about our continent that we don't even know. I have only been to 3 African countries Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. I feel we also have a lot of learning to do. I love this, I love Africa. The place is exquisite 🔥

Nigeria have terribly bigger issues that needs to be solved and can be solved easily and fast ash, am a born and raised Nigerian. With all the resources we all know and those that are being kept secret that we have... Nigeria alone can be TOP 5 best country in the Galaxy! 😄 ( IT AIN'T FUNNY THO) It's a shame to say I have never witnessed light/electricity/power flow for atleast five days straight, Talk about roads, health, security, right now we are buying money in Nigeria!!!

The airport is in Mainland --Ikeja. I think it's about 40 miles without traffic. But the Lagos state government currently building 2nd International airport in Island.
The various islands in Lagos are connected to the mainland by bridges. You may not notice that you are going to/from an island.

virtually all of the land reclamation is done. So, it's the above ground construction that is still in progress. Some if the structures are complete, so Eko Atlantic is already inhabited in pockets.
Though you don’t need another airport to connect, but the federal government is starting a new airport around the area
Martha’s Vineyard is not connected to the main land. You either take a ferry or fly there.
Eko Atlantic is not far from banana island lest than 5min drive and the airport is in the main land why eko Atlantic is in the island

You can use the boat to the airport
This was built inside the ocean, the land is extra expensive. The water never went down, it was refilled with ocean sand, as that portion of land was taken over by the ocean over years. But the sea shore is taking over a lot of other parts beside this city. You need to be on a different scale to get land there.
LAGOS as, a whole is a swampy land and is mostly reclaimed especially the Islands in Lagos.
Banana Island is in Ikoyi beside the Lagoon. Eko Atlantic is by the Atlantic ocean about 1 hour apart as a result of traffic ( for approximate miles, google can assist.) The airport is on the other end of Lagos state. About 3 hours mostly because of the bad traffic
The New airport will be 15 mins
The airport is very close, it is also linked with the roads, it is for the the big boys secondly over 250k workers will be coming in for work each day, 250k inhabitants as well. It will be an economy drive for Africa. More cities like Eko Atlantic are come up in Nigeria. They have one now in Abuja the capital of Nigeria is called CENTENARY CITY ABUJA, try and see how it looks like. You guys can buy land there as well. In Ebonyi state, they have a new city like as well, they have quite numerous City like that in Nigeria.
The airport is about an hour away, on a no-traffic day...which is hardly ever! Another airport is going to be built not too far away from this location...that should be nearer. And there is a helicopter service that has its landing facilities about 15 minutes from Eko Atlantic. Water would be another way to get in and out without the encumbrance of traffic. Several options for arrivals or departure
For your information. The American Embassy is being built on the land.

America government is building the largest CONSULATE in the world in this Eko Atlantic City. Many Financial institutions have bought lands already. Some are building while others are yet to build.

@@flexy6496 Rest wetin...how does Eko Atlantic benefit the average Lagosian or Nigerian? If you say employment, its a only a small number who would have "high paying" jobs there sef, the rest would be serving the wealthy who will live there.
There is no world class or even average standard hospital, road or transport system, water system or even school in that Lagos created by the government for its people after more 60 years of independence!

@@Southernview3k lol as if mismanaged public funds aren't a part of the private funds. Even when i can afford it, i would not touch that kind of place with my money...there are better assured real estate investments elsewhere. Lagos isn't the only commercial capital in Africa or the world!

@@Nonchalant_248 because NYC is organized. It has working infrastructure. It doesn't have the open sewers or faulty electricity. There are strong lending infrastructures for small businesses and potential homeowners. Domestic big businesses want to invest in the city. International business people want to invest AND reside in NYC. Few of those things are happening in Lagos or Eko. The Nigerian elite wants investors to build eko while disregarding the very people that would make the city viable. Investors have practiced extracting from Nigeria and much of Africa with minimal physical presence. Question, assuming these investors move into eko, where would they go when they get bored? Old Lagos, Centenary City, the dilapidated city of Ibadan, the overcrowded city of Kano, the unsafe areas of the northeast(maiduguri)? The investors have little vision. For the success of Dubai, there are the failures of Forest City Malaysia, and ghost cities in Egypt.
I just can't imagine not being a nigerian as an African.
Eko Atlantic is NOT an Island in that sense, you can drive right up to it, from any part of Lagos, save for a bridge or two in certain parts.
Check out centenary city in Abuja. Both projects are really slow, but we shall get there..
