The only rules about the count is its suppose to start when the standing boxer moves to a neutral corner. If you think about it they would need a automatic counter not a human counting if it was supposed to be a exact time ie 10 secs

He spiraled out of control quickly, and boxing stopped being a priority.. he lost his warrior spirit - you can see it in his fights.
