Nice! The Skyscale offers lots of room for mistakes in climbing. I think we all know that Springer moment where you just keep falling.. and falling.. because the Springer feet can't find any pixel to grab on or you miss the last ledge by an inch.
Skyscale is the most versatile mount so far imo. I rarely switch to other mounts after getting it. Griffon and Beetle are still good for long distance travel, I still use them for long distances. But overall Skyscale is better for most situations.
What a wholesome video ^^ I just got my skyscale and tbh I didn't think it would be worth it, but now that I got it I realized that not only was it worth the grind, but also - I was just too lazy and demotivated at the very start. If you really go past it, the reward is this crazy mount which is imo the most versatile mount in the game.
, i use skyscale to climb, then switch to griffon. And ofc using the super speed dive. In the super speed dive of griff u can gain height too. So that combo is really nice
I am currently contemplating whether I should get the skyscale or not, from what I've learned. 1. The grinding is not as bad as most people say, about 2 weeks from scratch or 1 week+ if you already have currency and stories done. 2. Skyscale is probably the only mount in the game where you will never need switch out (other than for certain obstacles like sand portals). 3. This makes it amazing at efficiently traversing high altitude maps such as Drizzlewood (I say efficiently because you could probably do the same thing with griffon, it'll just require a bit of skill and It's not always reliable on all maps). 4. VERY easy to use, small quality of life compared to griffon which requires a bit of skill to use, and a lot of practice to master. In conclusion, as I believe I am somewhat adept at using griffon, the skyscale will not be that worth it for me, since it is slower. The only advantage it will bring is that I will not have to switch mounts in certain areas.
To be honest, i have no idea what exactly you mean. Would you please elaborate? Blindfiring my answer would be this: use the Skyscale whenever your target fills one or both of the following two criteria: - target is less than 4 Skyscale dashes away ( thats about 5000 units of ingame distance) - target is on the same or higher level (no Griffon dive possible)
@@wipemop What he basically wants you to show is more skyscale vs griffon situations and overall map traveling like most people use griffon alot when gathering so would a skyscale in most Tyria maps be viable for casual gathering or map completion vs the griffon. I use my griff all the time and sometimes switch to jackal for ground speed while griffon I just use to get over most medium sized cliff angles and rocks to ore or trees, the skyscale flight time seems semi ok but doesnt seem worth the effort needed to get it over the griffon already being on your account. Sure you can grab it later on over time but it isnt worth to rush over in my opinion just like how I see the price tag for the griff to be a bit much because its just a overrated flappy bird. (fat chicken)
@@NatoRadeX Well in that case i'm lucky, my answer covers that. The most basic rule of thumb is use Griffon when you can dive at least stage 1, otherwise the Skyscale will be faster.
For long distances if you jump from a high cliff with a griffon it's a definite win for griffon. But if you start from ground then skyscale will win because of its dash ability. If it's a plain map with lots of open areas then beetle is the best choice. They are all situational but skyscale is a lot more versatile.
Hey, nice video! Skyscale is def more versatile than ppl think, but my favorite use for the skyscale so far is to help me get first stage speed (dive and 1 flap) with the griffon when Im at ground lvl. Not many ppl know this, but if you have all masteries and both mount skills (stamina and jump from mount), then you can start at ground lvl with the skyscale, and then (if you know how to get altitude with the griffon), get anywhere on the map.
Your graphics are AMAZING and your game looks so smooth!! Would you mind sharing your computer specs? I want to upgrade my PC and most of the games I play are CPU heavy like GW2. You just changed my mind about the Skyscale, It seems versatile (the wall clinging could use a tweek here and there, sometimes the mount feels like a brick).
Why yes, here's the details: CPU - Intel 8700k @ 5 GHz GPU - 1080ti @ 2 GHz RAM - 16 GByte 3200 MHz CL14 OS - Win10 Game played and recorded at 2560x1440 60 fps via shadowplay with all settings on max except render sampling (native), shadows (medium) and reflections (only terrain & sky). GW2 does produce nice framerates as long as there are no other players around. The more players are around and the more skills are being cast, the fewer fps i have. Group events like Tequatl drop to ~20 fps even on this PC with character limit set to high.
@@wipemop I have similar specs with 9900k and 32GB ram as extras, unfortunately this game can't use new hardware properly if there are a lot of people around. It's impossible to have good fps in crowded areas I think, because the limiting factor is the game engine itself.
As you are using aolother mount combination against the Scyscale .... This mount is faster or as fast as the others. Looks like an advantage mount. But comparing is not a favourite think this is an additional value t8 the game in combination to the other mounts.

Wrong. If you fall off with the Springer, you simply dismount, and go Skyscale til you get back on a ledge.

I feel safe phasing out the usage of my Springer having acquired the Skyscale.

Thats a cute skyscale :)
Skyscale climbs like 5 or six seconds faster than the bunny but he dident really factor in the wall grab and boost.
does your skyscale slowly lose attitude whenever you move forward ? I just got mine today and having that problem
Once you deplete your blue energy bar (flight juice / fuel) thats a normal behaviour.
Me too same as you bro XD i was se disponted when i found out that you lose altitude
pls do flying distances gryphon vs skyscale

Audio with this would be quite nice. If you aren't comfortable speaking I could dub this for you
A JETPACK would be better. lots of times i just want to get from point A to point B super fast.
Use skyscale to go up and switch to griffon speed dive ;)

Springer is much easier to use, and if you do fall then you quickly dismount, and go Skyscale til you get back on a ledge.
stop jumping around!
