- On Saturday, July 15th, Shayan Organized an event and group to go on the awesome hike called Williams Peak! in the Chilliwack region, with a group of nine (Shayan, Pedram, Faya, Morteza, Maryam, Omid, Morteza, Mohammad, and I .
Our journey began from Vancouver at 7:10 AM, and the trailhead started at 9:15 AM. The round-trip distance was approximately 16 kilometers
Elevation gain was around 1980 meters
The path started with a relatively steep incline as we continued along William Ridge.
After about 4 kilometers, we entered a valley known as Deep Valley and continued our ascent towards the peak. To reach the summit, we had to navigate through a steep gully, which required us to bypass the middle part of the slope.
Finally, at 3:30 PM, we reached the top of the peak. During the climb, our group split into two - one group decided to stay at the point during the final stages and waiting for us (Faya, Pedram, Morteza), while the other group continued the ascent (Shayan, Omid, Maryam, Mohammad, and I .
The biggest challenge of this hike was the lack of water sources along the entire trail. If the weather is warm, it could pose potential difficulties. My suggestion is to carry a sufficient amount of water, at least 4-5 liters, to ensure you stay hydrated throughout the journey.
