I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
Wait...why KTM 790 and not the 1290GT? Alos why an S1000R, it's so much bloody faster than the other bikes by quite a margin. If you wanted a BMW midrange F800R then...
In the video, I said why the 790 instead of a larger bike. I wanted to show that you don't need a 1000+ cc bike to have a good time on a sport tour and at the track.
'Sports Touring' tag aside, thank you for a great video. Really enjoyable to be able to sit and watch a decent length vid which describes both the bikes and the relationships between the presenters really well. A feel good, informative vid. Great job!
Look out, the Sports Touring purists have been loose in comments. The class of the classic "Sports Tourer" has spread from a heavy big beast to sometimes a nimble machine with relaxed seating posture. I've got an S1000R which I agree sits in between the classic Super Sport and SP but I bought it to do fast back roads with luggage and it performed great. Good job MC crew!
The Super Duke GT is their actual sport tourer, and is also amazingly light for the amenities it has. I've ridden both. The 790 feels tiny and would be incredible in a very tight, technical section, but not my choice for any distance, it isn't the most comfortable. The SDGT also has incredible handling, it feels like an extension of you with the electronic WP suspension, and the power is unbelievable, while also being very comfortable.
Was hoping to see a Ninja 1000 in that mix. It's practically the very definition of a sport tourer. An FJR also would've been fun to see on the track for the shits and giggles.
The FJR would've been a little slow through the technical sections, but on faster sections would've left everything except the BMW and Aprilia in the dust.
Give Tuono a tiny bit more fairing, bigger tank and pillion seat , some small narrow side panniers and you have best sport toured ever. And Aprilia will get all customers who are still waiting for new Blackbird or VFR1200 with properly sounding v4...
Appreciate the humour in this one. I guess your point is that many different bikes could be sport touring...this is true, but there are bikes developed specifically for this niche.
Y’all have an absolutely wonderful channel overall. But if y’all could please balance your audio so we don’t have to keep drastically changing the volume, (in my case, to not wake up the old lady) I’m sure your viewers would greatly appreciate it.
Based on the number of spectators, it's a shame that moto racing does not get much love in the U.S. John never disappoints, I enjoyed the humor very much. Big bummer that MV Augusta did not inform you guys about the suspension adjustment through an app.
Ha I was wondering who past the duke with saddlebags and then... he's picking his bike up. I'm guessing he had no way to stow his stuff at the track? Nice bunch 2 sports 2 twins and rare bike. Awesome video!
Quick shifters as standard is a huge advancement. It will really make riding in real life so much more enjoyable. I was riding in traffic the other day seriously mulling over a Rekluse clutch. But maybe ill just buy a new bike instead lol.
Would have been cool to see some footage of your actual trip to Laguna seca. Like where did you ride from!? Down the street? Another state? Maybe I missed it.
I visited the L.A. area last summer from MI. and the folks Pro Italia in Glendale were very cool to allow me to take a MV Turismo for a test ride. I’ve been waiting ever since for someone to give this bike a fair review for what it is. You guys came close and certainly offered a lot of caveats for its inclusion in this test. Please, please, please include it in another test against like bikes for where it’s designed to compete.
"Sport Touring Comparison" only brings one sport touring bike? No Multistrada, No Super Duke GT, No Tracer, No Versys 1k SE or H2-SX, No VFR, No S1000XR or R1250RS (if the RS is available stateside yet)? The one ST bike actually brought is one that no sane person would actually tour on because of MVs horrible reliability.
Three Ommissions from your discursive discussions; 1) Street Pricing (after adding Carefully the options cited) ! 2) Financing: only BMW and Ducati have their own banks (captive financing) 3) Dealership saturation (or lack thereof for MV Agusta and Piaggio's Aprilia). BMW and Ducati are the only marques with both Dealer Coverage and Financing. I owned a K1200R rocket naked-bike and now ride a 2016 Hyperstrada purchased new in 2017 as a Clearance bike with 2.99% financing and a $3,000 discount from MSRP. Oh, yeah, I forgot, most of the time I am on a 2019 Harley Road King Special (but no tats, facial fur or loud pipes and no need for penis-enhancement 240mm rear tire that H-D hangs on other 114 CI units). Cheers on your videos and most of your audio except for the random, piped-in vroom-vrooms courtesy of Evans' editing.
Seriously guys I know I’m biased but pay a UA-camr to come along with you and increase your production value 10 fold. Average UA-camr got wayyyy better video skillz. Trying to be constructive here
I would rather take my 2018 GSXS 750. I wish they made abs in all the colors and not just black for the U.S. When touring you can get great mpg but it also begs to be ridden hard. I think they should make a touring edition with bags and cornering lights plus standard abs. The traction control modes are great also! I felt very safe in mode 3 when it started pouring on the way home and all the oil comes up from the road, even without ABS. I’m sure it would be a great track bike also!
Great vid, great event, great reviews ... but please try to emphasize the bike's names. You sometimes jump from bike to bike in your varied comments and mumble or speed through their names. Wait ... which one has no IMU? Which one did you prefer the power delivery? Yeah, I figured it out, but I had to rewind a few times.
I'm a bit late but I would like to ask, after a 500 mile trip, which rider could still feel his ass? That's the true test of a sport touring bike! Otherwise it's a supersport bike!
I rode a similar route to the race, but alas it was on my 650 V Strom. Maybe next year I’ll be on something a bit more sporty. Loved the video quality though, and Highway 58 is a hoot.
You don't understand what a sports tourer is... or the difference between a sports tourer or touring on a sports/naked bike.... Can you spell VFR 800 please?

My Knees Still Hurt....And my Victory Cross Country... Can keep up with most Sport Bikes.... and the Tiger, yes a little old, works for Me !

A sports tourer grouptest. Without any sports tourers.
Sport touring bike and a sporty touring bike is different things .
MV Agusta was a sport turismo but very expensive one

@@Texarmageddon The Supersport is a sport touring bike on the light side.

Dafaq, the mv agusta is a sport tourer and the ducati the same
A Multistrada would be been perfect for this. 3 day trip, long saddle days, track in the middle. Good enough to win Pike's Peak.

Come one... no Ninja 1000 not Tracer 900 GT?
Those are both sports touring bikes. They didn't choose any sports touring bikes at all.
Next comparo, Africa twin vs Ural vs 1290 Super Duke vs Grom. ? Odd video...
Nah dude that's stupid for sport touring. That's for the motocross video.
grom will win
No Ninja 1000?? All these elitist European bikes.. Haha
I thought the same thing...
Or even the new Versys 1000SE, which has all the electronic goodies of the BMW, Aprilia and MV.
That's why I clicked on this but these guy's apparently don't know what a sport touring bike is, with the exception of the Duc.

At least the Ninja 1000
WTF, this is the worst comparison.
Just curious what you call a naked bike if you call the BMW, KTM, and Aprilia a sport touring bike.
Fall out the back of a van wearing a Ducati tshirt.
I think KTM SD GT was built for this very application. Great on track and on the street. Sorry you guys didn’t choose GT. Perhaps next time.

Brilliant video. I thought the S1000r was dead! Tuono! Tuono! Tuono! That‘s all we here about anymore. Glad to see it got some cred from you guys.
I could see Kawasaki 1000 sx and Tracer 900 doing really well in this shootout. But anyway, nice video.
That KTM is sweet, despite the displacement disadvantage. Lightness and flickability count for a lot on the track.
The Super Duke GT is their actual sport tourer, and is also amazingly light for the amenities it has. I've ridden both. You don't need an especially light bike on Laguna Seca. It's a track that rewards power. That bike would never keep up with a Multi.
The Augusta and Ducati are sport-Tourers. The rest are naked bikes with side bags. Calling this a Sport-Touring Ride is BS.
Vfr 800?
Great bike for sure!
