Im sooooo curious about, what was like that first facebook ad that you lunch. Some times i feel that is luck, but regardless im terrible curious about that first ad man😮
Thumbs up if you don’t think Chris is too monotone. 👍🏻 I’ve watched the 21 hour video multiple times, and it never occurred to me that his voice is monotone or bad for tutorials.
6 figure Etsy seller here. Our biggest sales day is always Monday for a simple reason...people are at work, but they're not really working. They're surfing the internet while pretending to work LOL
Man, you guys rock. I'm thankful to have posessed the discernment necessary for distilling the sourmash of UA-cam POD charlatans down to you two solid dudes. Real people talking real talk.
thanks for this video, I love both of your channels. Currently watching Chris's 20+ hr course but wanted to watch this as well to get some additional insight
i think the section at 41:50 is gold: "anytime you find yourself overly optimizing something... ask yourself, 'what is the problem that i'm currently trying to solve, and is the way that i'm going about it the best and most effective way [to solve it]?' " important advice for any multi-phase endeavor, to be honest
Thank you so much for you time and knowledge Chris, and thanks a lot for the way you've conducted the interview, Shimmy, taking it to the vital points we need to know and learn. Another great piece of content. Oh and BTW both of you have great voices for youtube channels. You both should consider opening one ;) Just saying
Big fan of newsletters and I'd publish one even if you have just two subscribers! Get into the habit of sending one. Last week I sent one to fewer than 50 subscribers and it gained a 70 euro sale. It's the focus that is key, people are interested in your shop's niche and so just keep putting new products in front of these people.
This was FABULOUS!! 🙌🏻 Thank you SO MUCH for sharing! I have a successful handmade shop on Etsy and want to also get on the POD train and since my time is limited I’m seriously considering the Hub to fast track my learning. I spent countless hours learning Etsy and time is money, Right?
Shimmy, you mentioned that you send out a new t-shirt if a customer orders the wrong size and wants to return it. Does that mean that you are losing money on any order that a customer wants to return?
Do you guys have videos on how to make a new fb account after one got permanently banned? I blindly messed around with ads a few years ago and the whole ad manager account got permanently banned and I can't even reach out to support to ask for a do over or anything 😢
Chris fits my personality. I love legit clever humor (anthony jeselnik) but all below my IQ pay grade or general ‘stuff I already knew or predicted’ gets my INTJ female ‘yup’ face.
we did. There was a whole part about emails. Nothing is easy. I apologise if it came across that way. I make sure not to make any of this sound easy. The truth is, 10k visitors is just a matter of how much ad spend you put into it... so whilst it's not a technically hard task, the facebook ads side of things certainly isn't easy
@@shimmymorris1 I think I'm referring to actually building the email list. Is the point - get traffic from ad spend and hope they sign up for your newsletter (with the understanding you collect emails from any sales). I listened to the part about emails - it was almost like you two made the assumption that your listeners already have a list. (and none of this is easy....otherwise everyone would be doing it)
@@thebikeracer i never say this is easy... business isn't easy. we say you get emails by having a pop up offering a discount. we also mention that we use klaviyo. this wasn't a technical video showing you step by step how to use klaviyo and set up your email flows. more to tell you what we do and how we collect emails
Yep, an entire hour about making t-shirts with zero interest in the joy of actually crafting t-shirt designs… or making customers happy… Just how to make money. Soulless.
You are missing the point. This isn’t a tutorial on how to get started, designing products, launching, advertising, marketing etc… This is more like a talk on one specific part of the process and thoughts on this. I agree it’s not the most valuable video, especially if you already went to these steps, but it’s a good refresher in my opinion.
@@mathieu221 Appreciate your opinion, and the detail in your answer, and I respect it. I know people are interested in these businesses, but ask yourself how many people are watching this video because they are actually enthusiastic about designing t-shirts and will continue to care if the market shrinks next year? My personal opinion is that unless you really enjoy and care about the business you’re in - including the customers - then GTFO. I see blue and orange fill lights… slat board… Nothing original here. It’s all copy and paste social media 101. It’s unfortunate, but I understand it. In a way it’s a pyramid scheme. The guy at the top makes $x and then says “you can too, just like and subscribe… I get the YT ad revenue and you give the clicks…” For those that follow this model and successfully build a business, I applaud you, but it probably signals that you have the skills to build a business in something you really care about 👍🏻
Obviously you should enjoy it and want to make customers happy. This video was just about marketing which is a vital step in the process. There’s many things to consider but I was asked by many to make a dedicated video on various marketing methods…
If you feel tired, go to bed. If you were bored....why watch the full thing? Leave and watch something else you enjoy. Also, Chris knows ALOT, done multiple millions and sold brands, left and right. If you were in his community, you would know that the man is authentic. Do you want some goofy guru with high energy and sells you on bs? Or someone that is actually serious about the business and helping people? Cmon bro, you're better and smarter than this. Stop wasting time and go do and watch things you enjoy🤙
proper disappointed to see a comment like this from someone who's watched my videos for so long. There is an insane amount of value in this video and Chris has a huge amount of experience. The high energy fake BS you see from a lot of people don't actually help you at all. Business is serious... getting sales is hard. Not everything can be turned into a Mr Beast video. If this isn't your vibe and you don't really want to set up a successful PoD business, that's totally fine, but I think you're watching the wrong videos... channels like Airrack, MrBeast, Ryan Trahan, and other entertaining UA-camrs might be up your street
@@ChrisHeckmanYou're a rockstar dude! Given the thorough knowledge you share, I can't see how anyone would have the energy to voice or listen to someone who's speaking over-emphatically/ theatrically and with the same thoroughness. We wouldn't expect a professor to speak like a hip hop MC or an auctioneer, it would be mentally exhausting and distracting. Time and place are a big part and you're right on the money delivering a wealth of knowledge, with a smooth calm tone. People who need otherwise are probably desensitized from watching too many YT shorts and expect people to sound more like the annoying AI voices. Keep rocking on, Chris!

How to find customers?
@shimmymorris1 any recommendations on virtual / business address in UK for POD?
