I see people walking behind you in the video how can you have visual line of sight with the goggles on and even know if someone is below the drone if you're looking forward with the camera?
How many times must I say this 🤷
I have a Visual Observer when I'm flying and Filming, sometimes one and sometimes two VOs, regardless of whether I'm wearing goggles or not!

@@xavier_arthur Okay I must admit I have not seen this video before where you say that and show it. Now I am still curious when you're sitting in your car flying does that mean your observer is standing outside in the heat so he has a 360 view of oncoming air traffic from behind you?

That FPV mode though. Definitely improved! More fun flying the Mini 2 with it.
When DJI made goggles they sure made GOGGLES they are huge. Unless of course you are a small guy? I smashed the T up LB!
DJI must be thinking about us all and we finally got what we wanted. DJI Mini 2 with the Smart Controller just makes me so happy!
Same Mini 2 but a whole lot cooler!!! I’ve been waiting for this to happen. Always been a fan flying with the Smart Controller. And yep, the latest firmware update really gave us more of that FPV feel with its optimized gimbal FPV mode.
I notice that you fly out of your vehicle a lot, have you had any issues with interference/reception?
The only reason i wont get a mini 3 pro is no googles compatibility and i have all of the googles :(

I'm only one week in to owning the Mini 2 and watching how much fun you had in this video makes me want to try FPV mode. Need to go out to a park somewhere wide open and try it out. Love your passion bro
Awesome video X! Those have the smart controller with other drones & have the mini 2, this is perfect for you but for others considering to buy it if you only have the mini 2, keep in mind the smart controller is more expensive than the mini 2 fly more combo so spend wisely!

Nice dude. But can you tell us if DJI GO 4 (on the smart controller) functions completely with the MINI 2? Explaining: can the Mini 2 now do ACTIVE TRACK and WAYPOINT intelligent flight modes, available in the standard version of the smart controller in its P flight mode? Do some flight for us, please. Thanks!
The smart controller now has DJI fly app loaded on it to accommodate Mini 2, if you try to pair Mini 2 with DJI go app, it won't work, DJI will not allow active track and those other features to work with mini 2 because it will hurt sales of their more premium models with these tracking features like Air 2 and air 2s.

This in no way seems like a good experience or a viable way to obtain usable footage. I just feel like if you want to fly fpv, then learn to fly fpv . Trying to mimic it, only leave you with a worse version of what that drone is best at.

Just pulled the trigger on my new DJI Smart Controller so that I can HDMI out to my FatShark Dom v3 with HDMI input capability. It's not Full HD capable but they are great goggles when the video is good so they should be great with this setup. Kudos to DJI for giving us this ability. The next natural step would be to add Mini 2 to the DJI goggle lineup so they could sell more goggles! Since I'm new to the Smart Controller, I would love to see some Tips/Tricks for using it with the Mini 2...Hint, hint, wink, wink ;)
And from the future now you need to register with the FAA and have a spotter with you when flying drones fun times lol
Is there any way to attach an iPhone lightning to hdmi-out dongle on the standard controller and cast the signal straight into the goggles at this time? I’m asking because I found the goggles for really cheap along with the cables to get this set up, but I don’t want to spend the money if it’s not going to work.

i purchased a set of Googles from ebay and sadly, after 5 minutes of just setting up the firmware, wearing these things make me nauseous. It appears like the focus ring doesn't adjust well enough for my eyes. No way i'm going to put a drone if the air and attempt to use it when i've felt sick to my stomach for the last 45 minutes. :(
I'm going old school tomorrow. Taking out the M470 with a GoPro 4 hanging from the bottom. No FPV screen.

This is really interesting. I've enjoyed using my Mini 2 on FPV mode but this update is something else. The control is better and the stability is way better than before. I did the FPV flight mode review as well on my channel, but using DJI Goggles + Smart controller is really dope. Thanks for this, I better start getting that smart controller and goggles

Do you have any problem with the SC arrow orientation in the DJI Fly App map? Drone arrow heading is ok, but the controller arrow is 90degree off for me, same when flying Air 2 and Air 2S with the SC.
Calibrate your phone's compass, away from metal objects....It's never very reliable TBH...🤔🇬🇧

who needs an obstacle detection, like with the Ais S2? nice and gentle.
The only reason I would ever use obstacle avoidance is if I were to use one of the intelligent flight modes near obstacles. I've never been a fan of vehicles (cars, planes, busses, trucks, quads, helicopters, etc.) deciding when to stop, brake, avoid or control the vehicle.

Hi Max this setup will work with Mavic 2 Pro even better.
You don't need a smart controller 🎮, your standard mavic 2 controller will work with the goggles 🥽 and it gets better.
It works wirelessly. You see, these goggles were designed for Mavic 2.

Those are aftermarket goggles. DJI has stated they do not intend to make the Mini 2 and DJI goggles work together.

I love flying with goggles but rarely do it because everyone says you need a spotter. Correct me if this is not fully accurate. I have the cheaper goggle system but it works the same way with the help of the Maven App for FPV and use of goggles. I love it because with goggles, there is no sun in your eyes are harsh reflective glare on your phone which causes you to miss a lot looking at a bare phone. You already know that DJI by itself does not give you a goggle option unless you buy all that expensive gear you are using herein. Thanks for sharing DXF! Always informative!
I may go to this location tomorrow morning. I sure as hell ain't flying through any potential obstacles. As for your statement, "Put the little cross on where you want to fly." Doesn't one have to be sure the gimble is level...aka on '0º'? Any deviant here would give you a false 'cross'...right?
Very nice but the smart controler is much more expensive than the mini2. Possible headtracking (moving the gimbal with the head)?

Just sub'd ! Thanks for this vid. I have the DJI Mini 2 and i'm considering this ultra-spendy Smart Controller. Anything i should know before pulling the trigger to buy? Is these a new controller coming out soon to replace this? I tend to buy something that's been out a while and the very next day the new version inevitably drops. Any tips and what's the most "low-end" compatible set of goggle that will accomplish this FPV feature? (I'm not in need of anything 4K) Thanks for helping me shop and showing the cool new features
Dji will never make the fpv v2 goggles to be used with the air 2s or mini 2. They would choose the most awkward looking goggles. I don’t get the thought behind that one . From what I heard they worked with the air2s but pulled the plug on it. Maybe to get more money out of us to buy a more expensive googles.
Love what you did but if you don't have the controller already and a pair of goggles, it's potentially cheaper to just buy the FPV combo, which is what I'm going to do.

Don’t buy the combo, buy a real drone. I own it and I don’t even fly it. You cannot compete with a quad running a GoPro processed through reelsteady
@@GrauFPV I hear you but after watching, listening and studying FPV, I've decided the DJI has nearly everything I want for now, including the safety of a breaking/hovering system if I feel I've lost control. Add in return to home and it's a win win

Its O2 so same as RC N1
If you have an android phone you don't need the Smart Controller, instead use a cheap hdmi to usb dongle in place for hdmi connection to any goggles or screen.
i regret buying the Mavic Pro 2 damn drone never gets any feature updates yet they update the mini/air drones like crazy.
in Sport mode the fpv mode is not realy smooth enough how ever your input on the sticks are !! in normal mode it works fine ...

My is lagging with Air 2 (have combo with Smart Controller), with Mini 2 I will wait at least one month before update. See Xavier's video how it is lagging, chopping. Very bad for 637€ (747$).
