There's no such thing as a broken build or cheese in from software games. If an enemy can one shot or kill you in two hits, they are cheesing YOU. So....any and all starts are legit starts. Even hiding behind draconic sentinel and spamming poison mist

Couldn’t agree more I can’t believe that people said it’s embarrassing that he stayed on a boss for 5 hours that’s not embarrassing that’s called commitment and dedication to do something that’s what all Fromsoft games revolve around, never giving up. Glad you’re not a hater anymore man, and you actually opened your eyes, it’s practically considered wrong not to like the souls games lmao. And let’s be honest… who tf remembers Horizon Zero 😭😭. Hyped as hell for this DLC, this is like the biggest DLC ever made right? Upwards to possibly 20 hours for just a DLC it’s gonna be huge man. Probably going to be the biggest gaming thing this year next to Helldivers. I’m so happy to actually be going into a souls release and apart of the souls community, never happened before. Got into the series with Elden Ring on the 1st of May 2022 and have beaten all the souls games just last July. We’re all on the hype train and it’s full speed to the 21st of June no breaks!

Amen. I can't remember who, but some UA-camr put it best when he asked (while playing Elden Ring), "Can I be part of the SoulsBorne community without actually being part of the SoulsBorne community?" Fortunately, the community is actually pretty awesome and encouraging for the most part, especially to newcomers. It's just a small part that are "purists".

@@GJXGamingArcade even the purists are awesome! As long as they don’t overreach which sometimes they do. It’s subjective enjoyment at the end of the day but I think there’s something special about the “overcoming adversity” (lol) element that’s present as long as the adversity is present. I have some friends that completed the game in an easier way but it was still a good challenge and fun for them, for me not so much.

I started playing this game in January and I was hooked immediately my first souls game and now I got over 800+ hrs and I’m damn near maxed out there’s only one way to play the game and it’s however you want

I mainly want to use a magic build for the Lord of Frenzied flame ending. I still have my Elden Lord save with the knight’s greatsword maxed out and soon Godfrey’s armor. I oughta see what special greatswords I can get to dual wield and go to town for the dlc. In the future I want to start as a wretch and have that be my “completionist” playthrough with the Age of Stars ending. Just spewing some Elden Ring ideas. Also started Helldivers 2 last night and in the next couple months I might try twitch streaming again. But for now I gotta finish that Mandalorian project AND Stellar Blade.

Everybody thinks that the way they play it is the best way, and if you're playing in a different way you're not getting the full satisfaction. The thing is is that these games are made to enjoy in a multitude of ways, and I can get as much enjoyment out of cheesing the s*** out of everything that someone else does playing on rl1.

Dude hell yeah you're real. Not all of us have the time of day to play hardcore underpowered builds. And people who do that are still cool and fun to watch, respected by any type of Elden Ring player. Miyazaki himself even stated that THAT'S why he added so much character versatility to the game: because it makes the game more fun for everyone.
So in the end, the gatekeepers are just angry that the GAME OF THE YEAR was enjoyed my more people than previous Souls games. It's actually kind of funny if you think about it 😂

To be fair, that's just how they like to play the game. I do hate it when they talk shit about how others defeat the game. I totally used Spirit Ashes in my first playthrough. But I'll admit I did have fun challenging myself on my second play on really fighting those bosses all by myself. I feel though you the only way you should play this game is the way you want to play it. Never let anyone tell you your playing it wrong. What's most important is how you have fun with this world. Some people like help on builds on finishing quests. The number one rule of any game is you do you.

FS fanboys are funny: Oh having no easy mode is good, because it protects yourself from just skipping the challenge.
But with Elden Ring: Oh it is fine to just let the computer spirits fight the boss for you, just restrain yourself if you don't want to skip the challenge.
I seem to always end up getting 60-70% through FromSoft games then quit! I hit a wall then don't seem to return to the game again. It bugs me that I've never completed a FromSoft game. So this week, I've started a new character and I'm determined to see those end credits roll before the DLC release. I spent an hour just dodge rolling the Tree Sentinal to the point he couldn't hit me more than once in 50 swings. More than being over levelled as I progress, I want to be over skilled this time though.

Every new player starts out dying a lot, people just don't want to talk about it, every death teaches a lesson about your playstyle, etcetera, the issue with summons is host getting carried by three overpowered and overleveled phantoms and the host doesn't get to experience the content that some of us has experienced, so if you're getting carried by overleveled phantoms can you really say you experienced or played the game at all? Though I can't really say anything on how people choose to play this game, but we're all probably gonna die a lot in the Elden Ring DLC, so can we say that we're any better than the new players? Yeah, we might be a bit better, but we're going into an expansion where we have no idea what we're gonna face, and it's gonna test the limits of your build, which is what the game does best, doesn't matter if you got an op build, any boss can still beat the crap out of you and humble you real quick for making a mistake or getting too cocky.
Oh yes this happened to me earlier on NG3 I was getting smashed by a mini boss and like HOWWWWWW
I naturally avoid broken builds, I play while limiting Ash of War or weapon arts. I prefer using pure skill and my issue with Elden Ring is the dodgy dodge input and input lag for dodging. Had some other wonky stuff but nothing irratated me more then hitting dodge and realizing my guy isn’t dodging with full stamina then spam hitting it 3-5 times before getting smacked. Radagons stomp is a perfect example. The second his leg started moving I hit dodge before his foot and knee hit the zenith. Then it would hit the zenith come down and smack me despite me hitting dodge. Over 2/3 of my deaths came from that. (DeS, DS1-3 and BB) nodiffed them with DS3 and BB dying only a total of 110 times for those two games alone. So I stopped trying during Elden Ring because why try when half the time the dodge may or may or work on top of that the iFrames start later vs DS3 BB where I was able to react sheering on reaction speed and reflexes and certain bosses needing to remember their patterns a little bit. Even without trying still took 4-6 times on each boss (1-2 times if the dodge buffering wasn’t dogshit). DS1 I did a paladin heal build Boar helm, combat bandages for body and monk leggings for legs had just enough stats to wield the Black Knight Sword. Had enough stamina to dodge 3 times and maybe get 1 hit before our if stamina. No defense, health at 760 (cranked it up to 938 for Manus) and usually only had 5 flasks. Wasn’t using faith for damage increase or magic damage, I wasn’t even a glass cannon as I had stated to do healing and maybe fire spell (for slimes). Not breaking poise, no stun or staggering, no crazy damage until end game, no stamina, no defense and no MP. I cleared demon ruins and over 70-80% of main game with divine claymore +10 doing 100 base damage and 100 holy damage (most enemies are unaffected by holy) but once enemies defense where high and I was only doing 70-80 damage I switched and then maxed it out right before beating the game.

You said you try to be entertaining but play the way you want. Doesn’t matter if it’s an OP build you still have to play to that style. You played hard and are absolutely correct. lol man id be using the most op weapon possible. But that's because I'm not a Souls player. As a Horror game fan, ill always start on hard because that's the experience I want. How people get pissy about how ANOTHER person plays... that shit is wild. I cant imagine how it is being a content creator where you have thousands of people watching and criticizing how you play. There’s plenty of videos, Fextralife would be the best place to start. My first Souls game was Dark Souls 2 (arguably the worst game to start) which I received on Christmas and I hated it. I played for a day and gave, it was just so slowly and clunky and unfun. I came back to it few months later and watched a video videos and it clicked, and I’ve been addicted since.
The two things you need to figure out:
1. Where the I-frames in your roll are
2. How stats work
After that, you’ll start to win and have fun..and then die again and again but at least now it’s not the game punishing you, it’s your own lack of skill, and that’s a better feeling to overcome
there is a really good platinum run series of FightinCowboy which i highly recommend

As a Dark souls pro, this happened to my fav Fromsoft game too, but I don't know why. Half the fun of the game is seeing all other homies getting washed by the bosses. 😂

Look, it's simple. You buy the game, ignore most of the content, and then just equip twin spears and crouch poke. That's all you're allowed to do. You're in it for the exploration/story and not the combat? That's not allowed. My gf's husband's son choked on a dino nugget (the only food I eat) and did I help? The game doesn't pause. Neither do I. I carried on reporting gankers for using miracles when arcane is the far more useful stat.

Been playing souls games for 12 years now. And I can honestly say that the community doesn’t know what the fuck it’s on about. Don’t listen to Twitter and Reddit cucks on how to play the game. After what happened with Warhammer 40k, I would say we're not gatekeeping hard enough. If we lose FromSoft to the wokies, then gaming is practically dead. Nothing worth playing anymore at that point. Your definition of being a badass in the game is completely wrong. Being a badass in any Souls Like means overcoming the challenges that the game imposes on you with your own skills, depending on a specific weapon the whole game doesn't make you a badass.

Of course, you can play the game as much as you want, but that's not the developer's vision, much less you're cool because of it, you're just someone who likes to play comfortably without feeling difficult.and no challenges.
