Thank you! Does your 72 have the original engine or a swap? It'll be a while before this one is running and driving but I'm already looking forward to it!
Good project. I just picked up a 74 that I will start working on next year. Mine needs minimal body work. I got lucky and only needs little work on engine to get it riding. I am looking to keep it original. Looking forward to seeing your upgrades to inspire my build.👍
That sounds like a great project! Congrats and glad you found a clean one. It makes sense to keep it as original as possible since it's clean. Will you be documenting the resto on your channel?
Gotcha! Thanks for the the info. Hopefully it can be fixed if I end up reusing it. I may end up fabbing a mount for the ECU I'll be installing behind the glovebox door so it may be left out. We'll see!
I was looking for one for several years and finally picked a 1977 Celica Hatchback up in late July 2021. Thought I was going to have to get one from Arizona or California but found one in West/Central Ohio. I am also planning a engine swap but have not decide which engine to acquire.
Wow definitely got some work ahead of you. Looking forward to seeing the finished car.
A lot of work for sure, but it'll get there eventually. Thanks!
I own a 77 celica too so glad to see other people giving love to celicas !!!!! Lots of love from Greece!
Thank you and sending love back from the US!
I use to have a 77 Liftback, but I like the coupes.
Can't wait to see the progression! Happy wrenching!
Thank you! Progress will be slow but hopefully steady!
sweet! hoping to score a '73 some day myself... I think they are the coolest old school car.
Thanks! I hope you find one too!
So awesome! I’ve got a 72 and it is so much fun to drive. Good luck with the project! Definitely gatta follow along!

@@UntappedGarage currently runs the 20r with some mods and factory 5speed. It’s setup for SCCA racing atm.
Can’t wait to see your progress!
Nice, following along. My first car, back in '89 was a '74 Celica. We called them 'Sell-Lee-Kas' in England!
I find myself switching back and forth from hearing it said both ways!
Best of luck and looking foreard to watching your progress for my own inputs.
Thank you! Should be a fun project.
Building my 77 coupe right now as well!
That's awesome! Do you have a channel or other way to follow along?
“Badges?..., we don’t need no stinking badges”

That board that broke in Amazon box the front passenger side is the interior surround of the glove box 🙂

Great project much better than mine
It's not bad but it needs some work that we don't find until some later episodes 🤣

That's exciting! I am wishing I had gotten one from AZ at this point but I'm too far into it now. Are you starting a build page for yours?
@@UntappedGarage aaarg - cant get the oil filter off. Tried oil filter tool no luck, lubrication, and hammering a screwdriver into it.
Nice just started watching, I found you through Instagram
Thanks! I follow you on Instagram also, your project is an inspiration!
