    Marcus Aurelius wisely said, "You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength."

    God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference

      According to Stoicism, the solution lies in focusing on what is within our control and accepting what is not. Instead of trying to change a million minds directly, Stoicism emphasizes working on oneself and leading by example. By embodying virtues such as wisdom, justice, courage, and temperance, Stoics believe individuals can influence others through their actions and character. This indirect approach aligns with the Stoic principle of focusing on personal virtue rather than external circumstances.

      Incorrect... Your body tells your brain what to do not the other way around. That's why the world's so messed up.. the curriculum tells us to trust our brain.. when our brain can tell us the wrong things our body never does.

    What is really the mind to control life. 🤔

    • @powerfulstoichabits
      @powerfulstoichabits  21 годину тому

      The mind is considered the locus of control over one's life. Stoics believe that external events and circumstances are beyond our control, but how we perceive and respond to them is entirely within our power. The Stoic philosophy encourages individuals to cultivate a rational and disciplined mind, capable of making reasoned decisions and maintaining inner tranquility amidst the ups and downs of life. By focusing on mastering our thoughts, emotions, and responses, Stoics aim to achieve a state of eudaimonia (flourishing) regardless of external circumstances.
