I watched this whole thing live and I gotta say, I feel stuff like this should be mandatory by MMORPG developers when releasing Alpha versions for new expansions (as an Easter egg), the thrill of searching through the unknown is insanely addicting, just the fact it should be out of reach makes it challenging, it also serves as great content for the creators, it connects developer work with the general person I find it insanely cool that a random developer wrote "NEED CUT ?" on the floor when going through versions of models, and that players managed to find it and engage with it during the alpha, also the intricacies of using in-game skills to path to places that can't be reached is such a cool effort by the community, in a few years everyone will remember the moment a GM showed up to kill a group of people trying to reach a zone that hadn't been released yet, and that's fucking bad ass to me.
I would spend hours in tbc/Wotlk abusing the auto un-stuck feature+blink to glitch into old ironforge or get outside of stv. Have a priest with you to throw up levitate to walk on walls and you have a endless hours of exploration

last time i saw a ingame gm was during ICC 25 hc man run 10 years ago when boss bugged for some reason he showed up and fixed the boss then he said there you go you bunch of misfits! then dissapeared into the endless darkness again
Asmongold: “Nice Try Blizzard”

@@FecalMatador omg old if.. my heart beats so much.. :D
Al Phuckya there was a glyph I’d use in mop for the eye talent on a lock. You could summon a portal with the eye and if you pushed up against object you could summon the eye through walls. Was able to get into so many out of area zones doing this was such a fun time. Felt like I was experiencing wow when it was vanilla and it felt untouched knowing nobody had ever been in areas
@@Bbronson i miss that walls are no more staircases to get everywhere ^^
see, im the type of admin and dev to literally make like custom effects and make my in game char a leviathon or something epic, just to show up and kill the players, with tons of effects, just for the content and the satisfaction of knowing it will blow players minds when something so minuscule results in somethin nuts. like imagine a custom admin dragon or something raining fire down on them to kill them. kinda like gabe newells ban hammer wep lol
As a past GM, I can tell you that you got a real treat, lots of red tape for showing yourself in game and even more red tape for that type of punishment. Your fate was decided way before you knew you were found.
😁yep
its asmon if blizzard "gave him a punishment" the community would riot
32:30 I like to think that the GM was like "Not there. Don't go through that door" probably there's something big there.
as others have suggested. maybe its the pvp vendors. ;D
Its directed shit for naive kids :)
Was probably about to leak the whole Shadowlands plot with these discoveries so GM stepped in lol
Imagine if they found Arthas, for real people would've gone apeshit
@@crysosisback7115 It would be hilarious if Blizzard intentionally added false NPCs for important characters that won't really be on the expansion in these zones, just to troll with people like Asmon.
maybe something was behind that door he glitched in ;)
Just chilling on a rock, hey you guys, proceeds to warn about lurking gm. Gm proceeds with sorry arthas bo redemption story for you, rats to blizz to get him deleted from game til another expansion
@@Masterwar15 They will now.
I miss the days of when a GM would pop up in elwynn or anywhere and just say Hi
GM interactions like this are the coolest things ever. I heard GMs would like to do but are restricted from doing so. Shame they do it way less now feels like a disconnection from community.

He was probably about to find something that the gm's didnt want us to see lol I mean, he maybe goes somewhere that pops up an alert on blizzard side, or the gm was watching them the entire time. If the gm was there the entire time, this means it was ok for him to show us everything, except one thing, he was getting to it, KILLED!! lol
Haha there is no way blizz didnt know/notice what they doing after 10mins streaming.
Imagine getting flexed on by a GM in a livestream.
Been waiting 6 months for the next instructions, this is getting boring
Blizz is smart for allowing for this just enough to play out.... it’s that unnecessary dichotomy that bears such fruit for blizz.
Enough to draw so many in but controlled enough where the majority gets to see but ultimately knows the end result so doesn’t have to try. All the while creating big draw to the content.
Yeah, I was just gonna say they handled this really well. Enough to drum up hype

Exactly what I was thinking. I bet the GM was following them the whole time...

That was awesome. The GM be like, you've seen too much.
If the GM was watching the stream then probably :P
I'm still shocked they didn't make GM's immersive by making them part of the Bronze Dragonflight or something.
Actually amazing idea

Too bad the guy’s probably gonna get kicked from Alpha by Blizz
@@JPLOWMAN2 nah Asmon brings lots of attention to Warcraft viewers .. they would most likely just message him not to do that

Finding these glitches during alpha test is the whole point so they won't go to live version.

Nah he glitches the shit out of the game everytime...remember classic, when he litteraly went to plague lands on stress test? xD But this was the best yet, litteraly GM area...and all of this cuz DH is fucking busted xD
Nah Blizzard basically WANTS you to break the game in the Alpha/Beta so they can patch the stuff that's broken up. It's part of why public testing exist.
I know he's not gonna stop getting invited, i wasn't serious, he is one of the biggest figures in the community, to not invite him would be a PR suicide haha
Him breaking stuff on stream helps them fix stuff like this lol
aah, i remember such exploring before they implemented flying and were forced to polish things off 360, instead of just the visible parts from the ground. it was always so much fun. good to see that it's still a possibility while an expansion is in alpha/(maybe) beta
Imagine being at work and getting a notification that someone is exploiting the map and you need to log on and kill them
Pretty sure the moment you discovered 17:03 all alarm bells went off at Blizzard HQ. Leading to the resurrection of the phenomena called IGM.

Zorbrix is a senior game producer, they’ve probably been watching before Asmon even got mounted.
i just love to watch this, its like a gem, and the GM and devs like this are legends , good to see not all off blizz is activision , lots of legends working still :)

That would be cool af
give asmond the title "icarus"
this is so cool. blizzard should realize that even though this wasn't supposed to be shown, this gets me so hyped about the game and makes me want to buy it for sure. It sold me on shadowlands indirectly. EDIT: 31:14 even asmongold even mentions that hotfixing it would be stupid because its generating hype around the game!

This is how to become successful on UA-cam. Show them a map that they could discover with map viewing tools, but be authentic, excited and entertaining enough to keep someone (for instance me) the WHOLE FUCKING 36+ mins and watch it, even if I am not really interested in playing WoW anymore (as long as they don't include crazy new shit that's worth it).

Reminds me of sneaking into the Caverns of Time way back when.
Yeah man, I did that, was awesome. Blizzard never watched though, but I remember frapsing it :)
Cot, Hyjal, Old IF, plenty of places we got into back in the day. I once got stopped by a GM before I went into Hyjal.
I got confronted by a gm on the airstrip above IF, hyjal and caverns of time and they usually just told you not to be caught there again then teleported you out, still did it again anyway! Had a good chat about the hyjal battle from W3 with one of them while stood in hyjal. Good times :)
