- Learn the Top 5 Jiu-Jitsu Sacrifice Throws for No Gi BJJ, MMA and Self Defense. Sacrifice throws are great, but should be used with caution. They are higher in risk compared to other throws because they force you to be in a "bad position" in order to throw your opponent with good Jiu-Jitsu
The sacrifice throws you will discover are:
Uke Waza from a 50/50 Clinch
Sumi Gaeshi from a Front Headlock or Double Leg Attempt
Kimura Uke Waza - attack the kimura grip and force an uke waza
Reverse Kimura Throw - attack the reverse kimura grip for a simple sacrifice throw
Yoko Guruma - underhook "deep half guard" throw

passing the torch is what has made
life in the present day so great.
We learned alot of these in Japanese jujitsu with slight variations good stuff.
This literally is a refresh of all my favorite takedowns. Amazing work!!

Good technique thanks you 🙏
Thank you guys. Helped tremendously. Greeting from Germany! 🙌🏻
Great content
Yessss I looked everywhere for the first technique
Great video
thank you for the support
Sensei Matt 🙌🙌🙌
The first technique is Uke Waza. I got trouble by this technique. I was just having fun by doing some randori with three of my friends. Three vs me, one by one. I applied uke waza to the third guy, then he got little finger dislocation after being taken down. I rushed to the emergency room at the nearby hospital to get him taken care. The last part of little finger was dislocated from where it was attached. I really feel sorry for him. I've just arrived from the hospital.
we did that first one in class today. more drilling required but its a sick technique. so you sit down and rotate towards the side that you have their elbow.
here again for review. still my favorite throw from standing. a black belt did it on me today and i flew. so simple and very effective, like a lot of my favorite techniques. osssss
Wow coach
The first throw reminds me of a lateral drop in wrestling I'm curious if it's as easy for the opponent to counter or if sitting to your hip negates that
I wish I lived in Connecticut I’d be in that dojo getting a refresher course from sensei Matt. 😌
You can always come visit!!! We’ve had many come through during the years

Awesome content! These are some very incredible takedowns!
I have a few questions...can you use these during your sparring practice and are there available counters for these throws?
Thanks! We use these CONSTANTLY! I believe they are an essential part of takedowns
That they are, very functional and straightforward
finally, credits to judo!!!👏👏👏
We always give credit where it’s due, but most of what you see that is Judo came from studying Japanese Jujitsu.
wow, I did the second thing to a guy who is like 90 kg, I am 75 kg when we went for a single leg. But I didnt know what it was called thanks!
I’ve used it against bigger and stronger guys too, it’s my favourite takedown because it is both efficient and flashy.
I remember when I was a bjj white belt, I was sparring with a friend and when he tried to do a sacrifice throw, because I was very heavy, somehow his legs collapsed or smth but I fell hard on top of him like body slamming myself on him by accident.
Can a smaller guy do these to a larger guy? Subbed!
Absolutely! Especially if they're pushing into you a lot. If they're not pushing, give them a small push and they'll often push back to stop you.
Are this safe for uke knees and head?
He’s fine! They know how to fall

3:50
no es "uke waza" is UKI WAZA, uke es quien recibe la accion y uki es pequeño
this guy is def from rex quon do
I'll do this to bigger ppl, I'm having a hard time taking them down
You got this!!
Whenever i do the first one, my opponent drops his kees and pinches my calf skin
This is just superb, been searching for "waki gatame" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Keyandon Judo Process - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
I am a white belt. I am a fake martial artist.
If you're a white belt you are a beginner. Not Fake. I don't perseve someone who is studying a dicipline to be fake at all. You may not have experience but you gotta start from somewhere. A black belt is a white belt that kept training and didn't quit. Keep training.
A fake martial artist is someone who pretends to engage in martial arts.
A beginning martial artist is not pretending.
This shit doesn't work try being a 100lbs woman and doing this to a 200 lbs man
