Amazing! The only problem is you have him 3 spikes down the middles back (when he only has the top 2 in the middle like in the games, and 2 on the side and it ends up creating that 3 spikes look from the sides while looking less cluttered on the back)
@@finngomezgamer it was originally as you described! I added the third middle spike as I believe that’s what he has in the movies (you will catch a frame in the trailer), but if I were to go back, I’d keep it to two :)

Hello! Absolutely wonderful work, it looks great! However, I wanted to ask, how did you change the expression during the rigging process? Did you go into sculpting mode and move the eyebrows/face parts around? Or did you use a different technique? I also do 3D Models and would love to know more about how to make a static/base expression more dynamic. I am unaware if you used facial rigging of some sort. I would love to know!
@@letscryy3441 your first guess is correct good job! Since I didn’t have time to make a face rig, I would duplicate the head/eyes and use proportional editing to move it how I wanted :)
This. This what I want to see in future Sonic games. A mix of Sonic movie designs and current Sonic designs. I'm so fuсking tired of this sega's "side mouth" sh%t you can't even imagine. It looks so bad. So when I saw movie's normal looking faces and mouth in the center, I was ecstatic, lol. They also made characters' muzzles a bit longer, so they actually look like fuсking hedgehogs for once. And on this render you slightly added even more length - which I appreciate. It looks amazing. Here we see best of two worlds combined. Longer legs/arms/torso from previous game desings and that cute appealing Sonic movie muzzle! You, sir, a fascinating artist. 👏 What you created - is an eye candy. Be proud
@@laniakeas92 ah, man of taste! I was having these exact same thoughts about the designs, which is why it didn’t feel redundant at all to work on a model like this. I would say Sonic 06 came pretty close to these designs. I am so grateful that you not only appreciate the art half of the project, but understand the design portion of it too! Cheers sir :)
@ShinGidora you're welcome! Yeah, I noticed you got a lot of inspiration from 06 desings as well. Smart, smart. Would be interesting to see other characters desings' from you. Maybe Rouge or Amy? Especially since people wanted to see them in 3rd movie (which is not gonna happen 🥲). You made me really interested in 3d stuff. Subscribed.
I don’t understand the hate for the side mouth. Sonic characters are 2D characters as there core, having the mouth be centered all the time looses some of that appeal. The movies can get away with this because of the medium they are in, the games can’t. The best solution is to have the mouth face the camera depending on what angle it’s facing Sonic just like in rise of lyric.
@aidanshowers8366 it can be applied sometimes. Like it was in Sonic Adventure 2. But in Sonic games of past years - there is an overabundance of this animation. It's so poorly stylized it looks absurd.
@@laniakeas92 1. It was never in SA2, or any sonic game pre-unleashed. 2. What do you mean poorly stylized? Yeah it was pretty prevalent in games unleashed onward, but that was mostly due to either poor use of it, or just a lot of angles facing sonic from a side view.
