    I'm glad it has helped :) If you are over swinging the kick then the timing of the kick might be slightly wrong. If you are under doing the kicking and wrenching the hip down to come back then it's too early. If you are coming all the way back to where you started and losing balance then your timing could be too late or your not controlling it when you have completed the kick. If that's not the case watch the tutorial and see what other things could be wrong based on the way it's broken down :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster

    Depends on what you consider as mastering it. I always try to improve each kick and not only for one situation. For example doing a spin hook kick on the spot involves far less skill than doing one against an opponent as they are moving and it involves timing, distancing, etc.
    My favourite quote is 'Perfection can never be achieved but it's nice to strive for it' :)

    Keep working on your static and dynamic flexibility and it should go away. I have stretching tutorials on my channel under the playlist 'Stretching Tutorials'. If the problem is still there when you gain significant flexibility then I suggest you consult with your doctor to check whether you have and underlying injury. Good luck :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    Yea. If you pass every grading it can be done in under 4 years i think but there shouldn't be a rush to get it. A belt is just a belt, it's how you feel and what you've done to earn it that really matters. Good luck :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    Crescent kicks are usually easier for the average person to do so it's more than likely flexibility but could also be improper technique. I have a tutorial on the basic hook kick for you to understand the steps if that's the case. If not, i also have a playlist on my channel called 'stretching tutorials' that will give you stretches to practice to help improve flexibility. Hope that helps and good luck with your training my friend :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster

    I believe so yes. Tae means 'Foot','Leg' or 'Step On'. Kwon means 'Fist' or 'Fight' and Do means 'Way' or 'Discipline'. Taekwondo is loosely translated as 'Foot Fist Way' or 'Foot Fist Art'. It's 3 separate words so they are some times linked together or separated in parts. Well that's what i think but if anybody has more information on it, please share it :)

    I'm glad you think so :) As for amount of techniques i'm going to quote Bruce Lee :) "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
    I don't just do Taekwondo so i already have experience from several other martial arts in different areas :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    I have seen it before lol You need to work on static and dynamic stretches that involve the abductors and hip flexors to improve. You can also train leg strengthening drills in those areas too ie. holding your leg out in a side kick position. Good luck :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    That's because it's completely different. When you kick fast it's dynamic flexibility but when you hold your leg it's static flexibility and leg strength to keep it their. I have tutorials in my 'other tutorials' playlist that will help you. Good luck :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    It does take a while planning, filming and editing but i prefer to be happy with the tutorial, rather than babbling. Gives everyone a better understanding of the kick and is better to watch. Thank you for saying that and for your support :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    Practice stretching, dynamic stretching, leg control and the kick, then it will improve. I have tutorials on stretching which target the muscles that we use to kick so the routines will help with improving all of the kicks :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    Hi :) Thank you. You normally wouldn't break with this technique. You would break with a Reverse Turning Kick which is the same motion but the leg stays almost straight on impact. If you do break with this kick though, just listen to what i say in the tutorial when i'm talking about power and hit the center of the board :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster

    You can find them in the 'Stretching Tutorials' playlist on my channel :)

  • @GingerNinjaTrickster
    @GingerNinjaTrickster  11 років тому

    No problem. We teach this way so you keep your hook kick short and fast. This means less chance of getting caught in your spin and more chance of landing the kick on an opponent. Swinging is not wrong, it's just a different method. I actually mention it in my tutorial saying a bigger motion will create more power but is slower so there is less chance of landing the technique on an opponent. So to answer your question both are correct in different ways :)

      no, taekwondo is about self-control, you will be tempted to use this against your bully, but that's not what taekwondo preaches. it is a martial art that teaches patience and discipline. don't use taekwondo as a way of provoking people or in violence, only if you are in danger and need to defend yourself. if you want to stand up to your bully, stand up without violence, but with strong bold words. if that doesn't work, see an adult.

    at 7:55 that is no longer a reverse hook but more like what we call a swing kick. You do them both beautifully. A reverse hook is an offset back kick with a hook through the target. You know your good when you make them look easy.. And.. you make them look easy for sure//

    You moves are real good and you have real good control over your body but like i said if you would have taken hapkido instead witch has all of the same moves as taekwondo and the moves of jujitsu and aikido you would really be good at martial arts and why just take taekwondo if you can take hapkido witch teaches you all of the same moves and thousands more unless there is no hapkido school there not saying i do not like taekwondo i took it to but still.

  • @TheShinobi32
    @TheShinobi32 11 років тому

    But just saying if i were you and i could i would take hapkido or hwa rang do instead,hapkido is way better than taekwondo and hwa rang do is even better than hapkido because all of the korean karate styles were made from hwa rang do witch has over 4,000 moves and more weapons than most martial arts but that is me and what i would do.

    Hello again, The difference b/w the ITF and WTF spinning hook kick is that the WTF throws their shoulder down to the opposite side of the kicking foot the instant contact is made with the target, whereas the kicking leg and the torso will both be parallel to the ground. This will make more of a "whipping" motion.
