i Need Your HELP.... I have a 1949 Belmont barber chair, the base is steele... It leaks oil slowly in various areas! As a result the hydraulic pum no longer goes up when pumped with the handle. I Need PARTS... I NEED A CONTACT TO A SUPPLIER THAT WOULD HAVE THE PARTS NESCESSARY TO REPAIR CHAIR... HELP...
same chair I learned on in Barber Collage 1967, worked in shop that had exact set up as barber collage. I felt at home.. now I have 3 of these. tore it down , re did all the metal with power coat. and had all the vinyl re done also but now it is missing the sleeve in the pump handle to keep it tight. any idea where I can locate one... BTW Power coating is great but they did the leaf spring , and now they are STUCK..
you know when you remove the spring mechanism from underneath the seat , you can pull the Rod back and it will allow you to release and remove the pump handle on the right side of the chair. (pump/lock/recline handle) well when I put this back together the Handle just wobbles all over . my friend said it needed a sleeve like tube thing that will take up the space and make it tight again..
You may want to break it down and take a look at the hydraulics see where it's leaking. Them old chairs parts are damn near everlasting. Probably just some worn bolts or seals. Check that out first.
HI i'm looking for a two pole head rest for my 1935 Belmont Barber chair so if you come across one in your project I would appreciate the info THANK YOU
You can go to a rubber and gasket company and they will make the pieces for you. The thin rings I purchased from a hydraulic shop here in Nashville. If you look at my title/subject it will have the places I purchased the parts good luck.
hydraulic unit had been locked up and i have begin separating unit and piston is locked up also turned into a real job so far, i will keep you up on progress
sup brotha....i have an old belmont that looks like a similar pump. any updates? did you find any specs on the pump? any info would be of great help for me since my chair pump is not working since i separated it from the base.
If your pump was working before you seperated it you may have to replace the rings and hydrualic fluid as I did in my videos. If that does'nt get it you may have to replace the pump.
where did you get those gaskets? also the ring. mine is 3 1/2 inch wide. how much fluid did you put in? thanx brotha sorry for the bother just trying to get this chair working again.
universalpenman Did you replace the rubber rings, and when you put oil in... put it at the half way mark. If you watched both videos it's all basically step for step. Good luck
I just took my base apart only to find the swivel brake shoe is missing- and the rubber ring. Does anyone have a source for one? It is a #5 as demonstrated here
can't you tell your music is way too high to be a tutorial? Audience can barely hear what you're saying. It's MOST distractiing. If you want a musical, sing. If you want to actually show people something, throw the music away. We either want to hear a musical or educational.

Define the sleeve in pump I don't understand.

Would you mind to to share the contact information, for o ring gasket. Thanks
How did you take the handle off, the twist part?
should make a video the same but with a chair theo a kochs
I have a Theo koch I’m trying to restore it doesn’t have any bands tho should it.
Not too sure about that chair right now. I just purchased one 2 months ago and still working on it. I haven't broke it down yet.
Who fabricated the bands that were in pieces?
Went to a rubber and gasket shop here in Nashville.
Hey now I am undertaking a restoration of the same exact chair! my hydraulic plunger is bound up can you shoot me some pointers on the system?
It may be the brake, if you push the lever down all the way and have someone put pressure down on the seat. Air can get in there and lock it up

Mik PopielMikP go to your nearest rubber and gasket company they will fabricate it for you
Thanks Rasheem. I'm missing the metal brake shoe too though. Any tips on sourcing that?
Mik PopielMikP Did you clean the hydraulic fluid and cylinder out? It may be stuck off in there if not I have no idea... That sucks
how much fluid did you have to put in?
Start with putting half the cyclinder hight for oil
I have two of these chairs for sale... I need parts for them... help!
I don't have any parts sorry but how much are you selling them for?
500 a piece
Anthony Gallegos
i can see why they last so long, quality parts, today's chairs are junk

It's always that one... if it doesn't help you move on to the next video friend. We all can't get it right everytime. 😂
