This is a sort of Hobby I picked up. I have done one already and sold it and made a nice profit. And I just got another to do ...looking forward to it.
Hey Jae; Just saw your video and it's pretty cool! You look real proud of your beautiful chair! I was looking around the internet because I am restoring my dad's 1959 Theo Kochs barber chair. He gave it to me about 30-years before he died. I want to make mine as nice as yours. I'll check out your website and if I need your expertise I'll give you a holler! Thank, bro! Eddie from Cali
How do I find out what year a barber chair was made? I’m going to look at one Monday and the lady that is selling it doesn’t kno either? Please help because I think I’m about to get a nice koch chair for a steal
Hi, my name is Ric Dean. I have a 1910 Koken like yours. I have MS, so since I have always loved Antiqe Barber chairs I decied to restore this chair. I am not good on computers but need some tips on how to assemble the lollipop handle. So if you could please call me I would be so thankful.
I just got a Theo A. Kochs barber chair..I was wondering if you knew how to fix them..It goes up and down but it doesn't lock for swiveling and it doesnt lock when it reclines..
+Miguel Rosas For reclining brake its a simple adjustment from the actual mechanism of the othe end of lever. Where the foot rest connects to lever under the chair.
On a 1920 Koken Barber chair i notice when you started talking about the brake, i have the same thing. Do you have any references or information on how it is replaced or looks. Thanks in advance.
I'm bout to buy a chair but the brake doesn't work (so it won't swivel left or right). Can u help me fix this problem or tell me how u fixed ur. Pls help thanx
Hi. How do you suggest moving the chair without damaging it? I have one in my father's basement that I'd like to move it upstairs. Just inherited it. I've seen videos on here where if you press down on the pump lever and lift the chair, the chair separates from the stand, making it easy to transport. How do you suggest I move it? A dolly?
On mine, 30's Koker.. remove the seat cushion, - then it's 4 bolts, and 1 pin, and the whole chair assembly with footrest and brackets comes off in one piece, . that'll make two manageable assemblies that weigh roughly the (if there's hydraulic fluid in it of course you'll want to make sure that's level.)
Hey my dude, I just picked up two Takara Belmont 50s chairs, one of the hydraulics won’t pump up the slightest and is locked into position, the chair also won’t swivel. Do you have any advice?
hey Jae, ill be restoring 2 koken chairs in the next few months. where did you get the nickel or chrome done and roughly how much.? i think i just followed you on instagram? not sure, is your profile private?

thanks for all the insight.
How proud you are of that chair is funny and dope at the same time. Will definitely be in touch with questions when I find a chair.
Just bought a Belmont to restore. Trying to get some insight on restoring the pump. Great video
I will definitely stay in touch for questions, about the hydraulic system .
Great vid. Inspiring.
