Cooking a country ham using the Swartzbaugh Conservo Toledo Cooker

I cook several whole country hams a year and when I saw instructions in the Conservo manual for steaming a ham I had to try it. I'll probably cook them like this from now on.

I wondered why these cookers had a domed top. I like your stone counter tops. Thank you for posting how these ovens work.
How much should I expect to pay for this steamer?
Bruce - thanks for sharing the Conservo manual - very generous of you! I have one that I bought at an antique store many years ago but never tried to cook with it. But I found your videos, and I want to try mine out! Unfortunately, I now realize that I'm missing the whistle top that goes over the water funnel/tube. Obviously, mine won't whistle, but otherwise, do you think that missing piece would allow too much steam out? If so, I found a rounded top cork at my house that fits snuggly in either the funnel top or the hole when the funnel is removed. If I drilled a hole all the way through it, so some pressure can be released, do you think it might work as a non-whistling substitute? Thanks for any input! (I realize this video is many years old now)
What heats the water to create the steam
electric or gas burner
I found one of these in my dad's garage after he passed away in very good sharp, where would I find, get a manual, instructions for it. I would appreciate any help.

Can you use it without water. Just as an oven?
No I don't think it will take the dry heat. Probably melt the soldered seams.
I just found one of these cookers and was surprised to see your video. Would you be willing to share a copy of that manual? I want to use mine for canning mostly. I was so excited to find it.
