I was always wondering why it is called pound cake. Maybe, I thought, the ingredients are one pound flour, one pound sugar and one pound butter, not so. It certainly does not weigh one pound. What's the mistery?

1:41 "3 cups or 300 grams of granulated sugar" Um, each cup of sugar weighs 200 grams. So either the sugar is supposed to be 1.5 cups or the weight is supposed to be 600 grams. Which is correct?

Make sure all dairy products are room temperature, even left out over night. If you have hand mixer you have to whip this LONG TIME to make it fluffy. Sift the flour. There's so much he doesn't tell us for great cake making. Mix flour and liquid - some flour, some liquid because the liquid keeps gluten from going whacky and keeps a fluffier or lighter cake. A tube pan can be used.

Just baked today, it was still a tiny bit warm when I tasted.....absolutely delicious! I really enjoy your videos, and truly appreciate your explanations on technique and ingredients, and your comments on substitutions; it all helps to make me a better cook and baker.

    Hi sweetie 🌹
Have you tried this one that is called, polish snowballs.
It is some kind of oil fried cake, it is werry soft texture indside, writh vanilla and lemon flavor, dusted writh the powder sugar.
It is not a doughnut, not a cake, not a berliner phonkugien.
    Sorry if I misspel 🙈
    Be safe and take care
    Big hugs from stine, from Denmark 🇩🇰 🌹 🌺 🥰 💝 🌺
