My best result so far has been Peppermint Patties (The Salted Pepper). John has made Peppermint Bark, but I don't think patties yet. I can't wait to try these Sprinkles.

@@gwenmead6184 Granulated sugar will make it grainy, so i think it is best to stick to powdered sugar. If you don't have un-salted butter, just skip the extra salt, but be careful, different companies use different amounts of salt, so it might be too salty. Adding more powdered sugar to taste might be a good way to fix that
@@Emma_Bunnell Yes i totally agree but i was saying when you mix it with egg whites and I actually did put powdered sugar to it after it just kind of remained buttery you know?
I fully admit I would get so distracted by just tossing the sprinkles in a bowl that it would take AGES to get to using them! But they would make the prettiest toppings for marshmallows and cakes!

Just made these using the exact Americolor gel food coloring kit. The messy part was sifting the powdered sugar. Other than that, the recipe was so easy and the sprinkles don’t have that waxy taste and texture that store bought sprinkles have. I’m making more tomorrow to have all the colors!

I tried to make these sprinkles, they were delicious! But instead of light corn syrup I used honey. I used honey because we did not have light corn syrup. But the honey work really well! So yummy!

This aligns with our goals to eat whole foods and give our bodies every advantage to fight off sickness. Of course, the sugar is not so healthy, but once in a blue moon, I'm OK with splurging! They held up really well in the muffins, I was surprised as I too was expecting the colours to bleed, not gonna lie there was a little but nothing like I have had from shop bought sprinkles. Think of it as an IQ test - and everyone can see if you passed it or failed it. You also REALLY need to learn the difference between a comma and a semicolon and when to use a period.

the meringue-based frostings are way less sweet and more buttery. You can add a bit extra sugar. I think there's a note for that on the blog post :)
Make sure you use un-salted butter, i have made that mistake one too many times, its grossssssss

I don't think so. Since they are primarily powered sugar, I think they will dissolve in the cake.
