- In this part 2 video of the Super 8 sound video series, we have rare footage of the ex PRR Logansport to Columbus, Ohio Panhandle in and around Marion, Indiana. The train traffic that was on this line from Logansport and also Elkhart, helped make Marion a great spot to catch trains along with help from the ex C&O Chessie System. Also several svenes of the Chessie in and around Marion too. Rare scenes of the CR at east Marion and west of Marion at Sweetser, Mier, Amboy to name a few. Also some action in northern Indiana. Thanks for watching and please like and subscribe. Part 3 coming soon.
Those were great memories. Love it
Yes they were great times. Thanks
For those not in the know.
CR GP35 3640 ex RDG was last engine shopped by RDG and thus painted all green.
It exists today and is in the process of being fixed up for use.
I saw 3640 in 1977.
I appreciate that good info. Nice to know that about that old 35. Thanks
These videos are so awesome. This is what UA-cam is for. I love this, I do.
Huge, huge thank you, sir.
Thank you. I will have a couple more sound videos coming up. Thanks for watching
@@NELSONRRVIDS Oh, you betcha.
Seeing the Cardinal on the C&O was a blast! Thanks for posting this!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed that. Sorry about the poor quality.
Love it!
Most recent years I post on Flicker as Kent Nelson. Also Railroad Pictures.net but been a long time since I have posted on it. Also on Instagram as Kent Nelson. Thanks for the comments.
Amazing to see some footage at Mier! My grandparents lived in Somerset for several years so we used to pass through Mier on the way up. Again, it's weird seeing anything move at that kind of speed through there.
Yes same here. It's been 31 years since the C&O pulled up the tracks. It's hard to imagine them running like that. Thanks
My grandparents lived in Converse. Spent a lot of time there in the 60's. This is incredible seeing this rare footage.
These are some very great videos! Thank you so much for sharing them! Any videos of the C&O Peru yards? Love it! Cheers!
Thank you. Yes I do have one coming up in Peru. Crossing the River. The only time we filmed a movie over this bridge. Unfortunately
Awesome footage! I couldn't help but notice your thumbnail, is there anyplace you post your photography?
What was the story behind that LG coal train? Interesting to see a move like that in Marion on the old conrail.
When Conrail landed a contract for the coal, they put a high speed connection in at the diamond in Marion connecting the PRR to the NYC at CP 133. That allowed them to run the coal trains from Columbus, Ohio to Elkhart, Indiana. That was around 1978 and they lost the contract in 1980. Still had other trains running that connection for a few more years,
Another guy with that dreaded disease "zoomises" .Don't you see how awful it looks when you are always going in and , in and out ?
Well watched today’s videos. That stopped in the 80’s.
Why dont you quit your bitching and just be thankful this footage exists.
