All of us OGs are now old and have jobs own homes and have children I just wish I knew we where living in the good times as players or fans we helped build this to what it is today much love and respect for all the true OGs
Say and feel however you want about Doug, but you can never deny that the man is passion in its purest form. Nobody else would go out of their way to have these players represented and he made it happen. You can never forget where it all began and those who put the scene on the map. Congrats the all of the players and shout out to everyone who made this happen, LEGENDARY.
That Bo1 ring is the dopest championship ring that has ever been made. I'd never seen it before this but holy is that a flex being able to say you were Bo1 champions.
@@megagamer69420 you're right but you can't fault him completely. I'm sure his buddy was aware that Phiz was intoxicated and also possibly intoxicated as well. Rip to them both, its a tragedy and it sucks but they all knew the consequences and the possible outcome

thats so awesome getting rings for all those early champions. Im 32 years old and I remember all those early Cod years very well. I even tried playing those PCLs on CoD4 and MW2... In the end I just wasn't good enough to be a pro and remained a GB free ladder star throughout the years. It was still so much fun, I made so many friends from CoD competitive. Thank you for this video it really brought back alot of memories.
Free ladder was still fire though! It wasn’t until Ghosts that I considered myself good enough to do tourneys haha. I even beat Kenny in one those and won. Good times
Call of Duty 4 is the best CoD there ever was, or will be. You cannot change my mind. If you weren't around the the nightly scrims, GB tournaments, and matches.. You truly missed out.
@@PauloMatiasi'm just starting to play cod4 on pc after not playing games since bop2 (well i played a very little amount of warzone during covid and then stopped all together)
I grew up watching halo. I was a halo kid through high school, but I always knew Call of Duty existed in the same space. I truly learned about call of duty through the Team EnVyus UA-cam channel, and pretty much dedicated my high school and college years to these games. Team FeaR won the first event I ever went to in Raleigh in 2011. Will never forget that weekend man. Changed my life.
This brought serious joy, just knowing that the OG’s of call of duty being remembered and recognized, getting a ring for a time that CoD was played for fun….
This is one of the best documentaries I’ve watched on the scene and I’ve been here since the beginning. Wish it would have been longer, hope more of this sort of thing will be coming out
Thank you for making this project happen and for putting this out there. This era of gaming was such an integral part of my life and had unknowingly shaped a path for my future as odd as that sounds. I picked up graphic design just making logos for teams on Gamebattles and have followed that into my career path in the years after. So many memories were made, so many late night Gamebattles were played, and so many friendships came from this time. It's a part of my life I'll always cherish and will look back on. This truly was the Golden Age of Call of Duty
I started watching at the end of mw3 and man what a journey even from there. Seeing these og names puts such a big smiles on my face. Thank you for those that took the time to read it this together and thanks to all those pros that paved the way. Back in the day you’d pray to whatever you believed in to see one of the pro players in league play on blops 2 and or play against them in game battles. And when it happed it was like seeing an actual celebrity to us. Loved those days
Awesome documentary. Love that they have rings to forever remember them of the memory. Going into this, theres a lot of names I never knew. Perhaps because I got into the COD4 Promod side of competition at this age with names like Stevy, Phantasy, QLimaxzu, D1ablo, Mazarini, etc. Theres this side of COD4 competitive and side by side COD4 Promod on the PC was the big hit as it took away all the fluff (no killstreaks, weapon mods, etc), just barebones COD4. I'd encourage anyone to look into COD4 promod as theres documentaries on it as well. I competed in a LAN tournament for COD4 Promod and it was one the most fun experiences of my life.
Great mini doc but definitely could have done a 14 min episode for each championship. Lots of stories left out of this. What a great time to be alive tho! Props to doug for putting it together so that it didnt get left out of history
Hopefully young cod fans are watching this. This is important shit that few people remember. These days of cod were my life. Forever cherished never to be replicated.
ill never forget my buddy showing me gamebattles back in 2009 and getting to watch what the scene has grown into today. shoutout Shawstin and Censor this was an awesome piece of content!
Damn. Haven't seen a lot of these guys on my screen in years! I respect you all. Spent a lot of time playing and admiring COD. It was a good time! The golden era of gaming! ❤
Wow, wow, wow… these guys paved the way for a scene and community that has forever changed my life. I have met so many amazing people doing the same things these guys loved doing all those years ago and I could not be happier for them to get their recognition. I love this community and everything it has showed me and I have grown along side it. I wish everyone could have been there to see the golden years but sometimes it’s better that way. Amazing video and I can’t wait to see where we are one day when my kids look back at this generation just as I look back now…
right, while i never would've said it back then because I was trying to compete with these guys, I idolized them and wanted to be on that stage with them so bad. Had the opportunity to play some of them and even steal a W in a GB match and some scrims too. I felt like I was on top of the world. Our team also got pummeled by some of these dudes too and it was like a wake up call, letting us know how hard you really had to work to be at their level.
Amazing amazing video and amazing times. Playing gamebattles through these games were without a doubt the best times in call of duty Congrats to all of these champions. If the cod esports scene was developed at this time, these would be million dollar tournaments without a doubt with how insanely popular these games were. This shoulda been a 2 hour documentary with more pros and more depth this was fire

If I’m not mistaken, these 3 championships were the only tourneys that had no rings to it.
