I just purchased the CZ Shadow 2 Orange, awesome firearm. Shoots so sweet, This gun is an absolute must in anyone's collection. Its pricey but well worth it.
The pistol is oversprung from factory since they spec out their guns to shoot 9mm NATO ammo, which is a hot round. Too much muzzle dip as the slide returns to battery indicates, oversprung recoil spring which I do believe is a 15lbs spring, CZ Customs sells a recoil tuners pack, get it and experiment with springs to see what works best. Most use 11lbs recoil springs, I prefer 12 lbs and at times 13 lbs depending on my loads... Also, too much muzzle flip can be indicative of not gripping the pistol correctly... Overall nice review, I have both the regular S2 and S2 Orange~ :)
Really appreciate the clarification and over detailed response. Having said that I agree the over-sprung factory spec is setup for P Plus rounds / Nato ammo. The ejection patterns are very pronounced when compared to other platforms. In reference to the recoil spring weight and tuners pack, if needed this is something I'll look into when I start reloading. Thanks for kind words and congrats on your ownership of both the regular S2/S2 Orange. Stay tuned for more S2 Orange content to come. Cheers....
Apologies for the delayed response as I'm just seeing this now. In reference to to your question. I really depends if you're going to be shooting in a USPSA Production Division or any other division that may not allow a single action such as the Shadow 2 blue. If so, coupled with an experience shooter and with the Shadow 2 Orange upgrades "Barrel bushing that increases slide-to-barrel fit, Factory-tuned trigger with short reset etc" may give that edge of shooting tighter groups during competition. Having said that, rather you're competing or not you can't go wrong with either one and for myself the extra cost is worth looking into. Hope this helps.. Cheers
Nice. I planned on owning one of these but I’ve reoriented my hobbies over the past year. Hopefully I’ll find one on the used rack after all the panic buyers go away.
Completely understandable and fingers crossed you'll be a new owner very soon. I shoot a lot and have been for many years, to say I couldn't be happier with this CZ platform is an understatement. Keep me posted and have a great night. Cheers...
I own the CZ S2O as well and yes it is a very well made quality pistol. I shot it once at the range and it performs very well, the trigger is so crisp and clean. Although I had a better group with my Sig 320. Now the CZ just sits in the case and never comes out. I would like to sell it if I could, only because I would rather have something I get more use out of.
Appreciate the insight and congrats on the purchase. The market has been pretty profitable as of recent and you might be on the plus side if you decide to sell. Of course this depends on your initial purchase price. Having said that I highly recommend reaching out to jandkpawn.com if you decide to sell or consign the CZ S2O. I've worked with them for a few years now and have absolutely no complaints 👍. Hope this helps... Cheers
@@platano4life722 I Thank you for the respectful offer, although I've decided to hang onto it for the time being. I do appreciate the offer, however I have grown to appreciate the quality and value of owning a nice piece. If I would ever find the right deal on a Staccato 2011 then I would possibly let go of the CZ. Thanks again sir.
@@MyCalculatedRandomness thanks for the insight, I appreciate owning a quality piece, and have grown to keeping it in my collection. A 2011 Staccato would budge my position on it though lol
@@MyCalculatedRandomness by the way you need a Chevrolet protection plan on that c8 let me know. We have the lowest price in country. Nice build and color combo !
Hi,great video.I'm debating between your gun and the CZ TSO.I'm not a regular shooter but watching the vids make me want to buy.Did you look at the TSO?I've seen a Shadow 2 black and blue along side an urban grey for $1350,for that price their talking a different animal.
Sorry for the delayed response, as I Just got married and as you can imagine we've been crazy busy. Thanks kind words, it's greatly appreciated. With that being said, you can't go wrong with this platform. This is hands down the best 9mm platform I've ever owned or shot. In reference to your question: I haven't had the chance to see or shot the CZ TSO and to be honest the thought of a single action does sound on point. CZ has some of the best triggers within the industry and come to think of it, I might just have to pick one up. As I'm sure I'll fall in love with it. Let me know what you decide. Cheers.....
This was addressed in a previous comment. It was a honest mistake (25ft). Nonetheless CZ is among my favorites. I have a full review of my CZ TS2 Green if interested. Also recently purchased the Dan Wesson, DWX Compact. Review coming soon 👍
I would not ever sell My CZ Shadow 2 Orange with Barrell Bushing ? The inside is all polished The Blue is not Polished or Fitted inside ? The Parrott is not as Polished inside ?
Absolutely and thanks for the request, they're both amazing platforms. This may take me a few weeks as I'm the sole person responsible for this channel. With that being said, I'm currently creating some content of my 2021 C8 Corvette and will start creating an comparison review shortly thereafter. I'll keep you posted as well. Cheer's...
This was an honest mistake that has already been addressed in the comments, which means you have full permission to pick on me bud, I deserve it Lol. "This way by the far the best shooting at a 100 yards, that I've done with this platform 😂".
Appreciate the question. Sadly I have not found the lbs of the recoil springs and to be honest with our recent wedding (Just got married) and moving into our new home, I forgot to look into this further. Having said that, I'm going to reach out to the CZ and see if I can get an answer and will keep you posted. Thanks.... Cheers
Thank you, we really appreciate it and many congrats to you as well. You're going to absolutely love the CZ Shadow (Orange). Means lot, that my upload helped with your decision. Keep me posted and enjoy! Keep safe as well. Cheers...
I don't think you can use the magazines for either caliber, because the gap between the feed lips would be wider for .40 S&W than 9 x 19. I think the CZ brand magazines just have both markings because it's easier and cheaper for them to produce just the one and just change the feed lip gap. I just have a standard S2 but I'm just happy to be in the club!
Appreciate the detailed insight and I agree, from a business aspect it does make since to produce the mags with the option of changing the feed lips if need. Congrats on you Shadow 2! Can't go wrong with any of the Shadow platforms. Welcome to the club 👊👍. More CZ content coming soon... Cheers
@@MyCalculatedRandomness Thanks, I got to use my S2 at matches all summer and fall. It was really fun! I think I've put about 5k rounds through it since I got it in July. It looks like ammo is getting better too! I'm lucky to have an Aim Surplus pretty close, and they had this Sterling 115 grain fmj brass case for $20 a box and that's what I used all summer and fall. I scored a whole case of CCI Blazer brass case 115 grain for $17 a box yesterday and saw on PSA, that they have S&B for the same price! I have a bunch of cases saved up, so hopefully I'll get reloading equipment some day, after the components hopefully become available again. I met one guy at the local steel match, who has a standard S2 and an S2O, and he uses his own cast lead bullets. That must save a ton of money! How do you feel about optics? I got a Leupold Deltapoint Pro 6 MOA dot sight a few months ago and I was kicking myself for not getting the optics ready S2, so I bought a Canik TP9SFX from my friend, and put the red dot on it. As one would expect, I much prefer to shoot my CZ lol but I've also realized that my astigmatism is worse than I thought. That big dot looks really weird without my glasses. I think I'm just going to practice more with what I have, and maybe upgrade my S2 a little bit. Sorry for rambling. Have a good one!
No problem at all and congrats on round count and for the competition aspect. The TP9SFX is by far the best value for the money. I have a few reviews on this beauty on the channel if you would like to check them out. Great to hear that you're getting great use out of your S2. Ammo is crazy at the moment. I havent had any problems with 115 or 124 grain as of yet. I'm hit or miss on optics. I was using a Trijicon RMR, 1 MOA on my Glock 45 MOS but I prefer a less busier sight radius and If you don't have factory cutouts for an RMR I wouldn't have them custom cut for you're S2. I've seen some problems with custom cut S2 slides. With that being said, If you choose to say with an RMR I would go with go with a smaller dot size. 6 MOA is way too big in my opinion. Hope this helps bud.. Cheers...
Uplula magazine loader. Highly recommended to say the least. I've been using this for years and have no complaints! Do you currently have a CZ? If so which model? Cheers.........
Great question. This might sound a bit bias as a proud owner but they were spot on with no adjustments needed. I've yet to shoot another platform this good out the box. Are you in the market for a S2 Orange? I'll have update video posted soon. Cheers..
This is correct, it was a honest mistake. With shooting at many different locations and while using various optics, I do get a bit tough twisted at times when it comes to measurements/gaging distance.
