The Mastercam interface has many helpful toolbars and managers to make building and viewing program details quick and easy, but what happens if you accidentally close or undock them and you can't get it back the way you like it? George Simmons takes you through the process of docking and undocking toolbars and managers to get everything where you want it for multiple monitors or a compact traditional look.
Toolpath, Planes, Solids, and Levels are among the most common tabs to have visible by default on the left side of the screen. Those can be hidden/shown or docked/undocked as needed to setup the perfect user interface!

Haha! This happens to many new users trying to close out of dialogs or commands and instead closing out of all of the managers, glad we could get you back up and running!

one thing super annoying about mastercam's 'managers' system is its horrible behavior with hotkeys. for example... all mananger hotkeys (toopath: ALT+O, Planes: ALT+L) are set to disable/enable instead of 'bring to front'. Then there are HIDDEN hotkeys tied specifically to each manager like Lock toolpath (L) in toolpaths manager which will eat up input for Planes manager (ALT+L)..... The faster I want to use mastercam the more frustrating it becomes......

There are some single key “Hot Keys” when in the Managers that aren't as commonly used. There is a “Quick Reference Card” that is available within the Windows Start menu, All Apps, Mastercam 2024, Quick Reference Card, see if that helps you to understand what they keyboard shortcuts are and how to modify them if they are causing you issues. You can also find a copy on our website: www.mlc-cad.com/mastercam-keyboard-shortcuts/

@@MLCCADSystems Appreciate the help. I think CNCsoftware needs to be made aware of how convoluted the keyboard shortcuts are for new users. There are too many single key hot keys that are kept hidden away And absolutely none of it is listed in the reference card. And nor does it ever show up in file>options>keyboard shortcuts:customize.
Things like the previously mentioned Toolpath regen Lock and autocursor hotkeys like (Q) quadrant, (I) intersection, (C) arc center, (O) origin, (M) Midpoint.
It's frustrating having to develop my own keyboard shortcut layout as a lengthy trial and error process because of all these 'hidden' hotkeys.
