thank you for this excellent tutorial. it was my first time using MasterCam. i was able to follow along and create the same, and figured out how to fix that bad tool path before i saw it in your video (i had assumed i did something wrong, but apparently not :)
You can ignore that. The interface in Mastercam changes slightly between versions. If you are using a newer version the stock setup icon will appear as a red cube, but is identical to the functionality and workflow of previous versions.
Check out this video, it is a couple of years newer and the workflow should be more similar to what you are seeing. ua-cam.com/video/GuKrpMe97jY/v-deo.html
When i get to the point where i want to cut body for the slots, i do everything you do in the video, then when i the green check mark, a bubble pops up saying thicken operation failed

Hi Garrett. Check to make sure that 'Thin-wall' is not the default selection when you are doing your extrusion. Sometimes it can be activated and cause a problem when extruding. It is found on the second tab in the extrusion window dialogue box.

Had a couple questions, how did you select everything at 14:21... and if i click on the wrong line how do i unselect with out exiting the entire fucntion?
Hi Jim. I used the Ctrl+A to select everything. You can also use a window selection to grab it, but I find that Ctrl+A works better for me because it ensures that I get everything. you can simply click on the unwanted entities to de-select them from the selection. I hope this helps!
Hi Jason. I changed the tool position numbers to match the positions I was using on the machine. You want to set them to the tool numbers that you using so that the machine selects the correct tool to cut the area you have defined.
There are a lot of example files on the Mastercam website that you can browse and download for review. See if one of the Signature Parts will work for you on Mastercam's website ua-cam.com/video/PPwdfwV3tYw/v-deo.html
