When you play cover gigs live, you're basically obligated to stay true to the original record. But on UA-cam you have more liberty to make them uniquely your own. Check out this version of Wind of Change: ua-cam.com/video/M3uZ48ATUWw/v-deo.html
Bullshit. If you have your own sound then do it. As a musical artist you should have absolute freedom on any song. Wtf?? Thats the most retarded statement ive heard. Its music. Make it your own. Own it. Rock it.
It's excellent. I just think they just need to increase the tempo just a smidge and it would be perfect. But she has that sultry edge that Alannah has for sure.
I love how you slowed it down from the original. You have a beautiful, captivating voice. I am getting ready to upload my cover of this in a few days, as I just had a breast cancer surgery and am recovering. I am watching other covers on UA-cam to pass the time while I heal.
This performance deserves serious recognition! Absolutely amazing! This is by far the best cover of Black Velvet. I love Abby's voice techniques combining finesse and strong rock notes. Stunning!!
One of the best songs ever written for ladies with that smoky voice and the sassy phrasing. Toss in a very attractive brunette. Yeap, that’ll sell. Bands tight. Well done.
Every once in a while the UA-cam algorithm throws up a diamond - this is definitely one of those occasions! First time that I've come across Abby Skye: I'll be searching for more of her work. Love the husky voice and wonder if she has covered anything by Julie Driscoll, Beth Hart or Stevie Nicks. The guitarist isn't too shabby either !
A very slow and, therefore, very tough version. It takes balls. Awesome: holding the listener's attention with such a slow tempo, that's not an easy thing.
Wow!!! Abby, I uses to think Alannah sang this song great but you're version is even better. I love your arrangement and this song was made for you voice. Bravo!!!! where are you from and where do you perform these days?

The song is in a twice slower rhythm, at times it resembles a funeral procession. Only the chorus stands out, thanks to the great head of the singer, but the rest of the time you would fall asleep
usually..........covers are at best a facsimile of the original , the notes are there but they lose the heat and the passion, the "music" of the original. ABBY is absolutely bringing the heat! Smokin! The ONLY suggestion I have is for the band to bring a little more heat also. ALL the guys are obviously excellent players , I'd just prefer a little "kickin it" from the bass and drums...and I'm pretty sure they can bring the heat. And that's the ONLY thing I'd change.....really REALLY good job!

best version ive heard. everyone else is too smooth she's raspy in the right way, the right amount of attitude.......... its great!
2nd and 3rd that, my man. Well said!! Wholly support that assessment based on all the versions I've heard.
Yeah. Gravely. Right spots almost
She has so much power in her voice and she doesn't have to go to extremes. That's rare.
Best Cover ever, even better than original. What a Voice!! So powerfull
Yes this is incredible. Similar to original but actually more powerful!!! Amazing.
gosh her voice is so freaking good!she made the best cover of this song!!!
Black Power ❤️. The baas line. The rhythm and guitar. The drummer. The lonely voice. The bland of musicians coming together to make us happy ❤️😭❤️
People barely clap i would have gave her a standing ovation WHAT A SEXY VOICE CONGRATS ABBY YOU GOT IT GOING ON
She killed this omg
I love you Abby, I have watched this and the concert so many times. I just love, love, love your voice

Quite a brilliant cover actually
no sweat. nice job.
...Perfect !!!
I love how unlike most they actually slowed the beat down instead of speeding it up. Plus her voice is amazing.

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rodgers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Up in Memphis the music's like a heat wave
White Lightnin' bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love Me Tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet and that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon
What could you do?
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet in that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet in that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please

Hey, I have a question. If this is live, how can the lead singer pull the mic away from her mouth, but there is no variation in loudness?
Is that Leonard Hofstadter on bass?
Little hottie.
And damn good vocals
I like this version even more than the original one )
😎😎😎👌👌👌
Smooth, sexy singing... Great performance Abby. Lovely band too.
Drummer has to listen to the original recording for the hi-hat accents, so important for the song
Wowww better than the original!!!
The song is in a twice slower rhythm, at times it resembles a funeral procession. Only the chorus stands out, thanks to the great head of the singer, but the rest of the time you would fall asleep
Got to be the best cover i've heard, raspy, sensual and sexy❤
Better than the original!
honey you don't need any any backup vocals you did good by yourself
Tempo ?
I want to sing for you

MADE IN CANADA.....SONG FROM THE 90.....?
Fabulous version, sound recorder needed to bring her voice down a little a notch or two as it dominates too much.
It's HER song, so if it dominates, it's because it's HER song, nobody else's
