Great to see (or not see lol) a mechanical restoration and not just a load of paint. Too many pretty looking ones about and not in work clothes. Just doing the brakes on our 165, still a hard working tractor for us
Fantastic to see and hear a tractor I spent a childhood driving, these definitely are worth the time preserving. The water in wheels was simply to add weight therefore traction. Especially if a loader was fitted as it helped balance the weight but also in field operation such as ploughing needing that extra traction, it was cheaper to use water than buy the costly wheel weights.
@@BensWorkshop . Not yet. I got it from an auction here in Japan. F rom the look of things a car mechanic looked at it and told me that it must have overheated. He doesn't have the tools and manpower to fix it.
@@Kifaru254 If it has been doing nothing for years a valve could be stuck open or piston rings glued stuck. You can check to see of the vales are moving up and down by just taking the rocker cover off. For the rings, check by taking one plug at a time out and putting a little oil in each cylinder and checking compression then. Could still be valve seats though.

Sorry to hear about you losing the footage.
Benedict White yeah it’s very frustrating, there was enough for about 10 videos
Nice to hear the engine sound. Got a mf3060 with low engine compression dont know how will get it running again. Still looking for other options
@@Kifaru254 Have you checked the valves and rings?
