People say that Dara can't sing but look at this video. Dara can definitely sing. It just have a different color compared to Bom, Minzy and CL. But when you combine all their voices, it all fits well.

And the best introduction award goes to Ben. The acoustic part where CL raps is a different song. On the album that part doesn't happen in this song but its in the Come Back Home Unplugged version. Hope that makes sense. So its like other videos where they included more than one song.

I watched this again and I realized why I haven't found any group that can match 2ne1's musically. I always amazed by them all the time I can't figure it out why, but now I understand.
Have you tried listening to Mamamoo? They're not as badass as 2ne1 but they are vocally blessed and has so much stage presence. They also sing live. You might want to check out their MAMA 2018 perf.

Literally everyone that hears YG artists' vocals: "They all sound so different"/"Their vocals are different/unique". That's one of the reasons why I stan YG artists
2NE1 was really unique in the Kpop industry and they were one of the few female groups that actually had more female fans than male fans.
When Gwen was talking about Bom's voice, it reminded me of how YG and GD always used to say her voice is really unique and something that can't be found in Korea.

I was really excited when it was about to be released but had to go through multiple listens for me to actually appreciate the song's experimental elements when I finally heard it. It's definitely one of my favorite songs from 2NE1.
Thing with 2ne1 is they can go from different transitions. BALLAD to HIPHOP to REGGAE to POP to ACOUSTIC RAP/ACOUSTIC to ROCK to ALTERNATIVE to DISCO. They are too talented for this world. Too bad we've only had them for a very short beautiful time.

That acoustic guitar rap verse isn't actually in the song though. It's a cut from the acoustic version of the entire song that they just slip into the MV. If you have the mp3 version that part is still on the normal beat

This group can sing over all types of music like regae, rap, ballad, love song, hip-hop, etc. They're the best
For me, the strongest point of 2NE1 is their diverse voices. I think it makes them versatile and able to adapt to many genre. I like them, but I didn't really "follow" them but even to me their disbandment is such a loss to kpop, imo, because they had very strong identity and is just simply irreplaceable.
I find many similarities between 2NE1 and Winner (the group I stan) so I feel special link to this group even tho I don't really stan girl group. I guess that's why Winner's cover of Missing You was such a gem.
I would love for them to react to "It Hurts" by 2NE1. The vocals were so on point and filled with emotion.

For Come back home the video concept is like about how people are addicted to phones and using them to escape reality.
In the music video, Sandara Park is heartbroken because the man she loves prefers to live in the fantasy world. (The woman and her husband watching the TV and the guy uses drugs) Sandara and the other members, CL, Park Bom, and Minzy, enter the fantasy world and become warriors that destroy it, portraying the importance of reality and humanity. Basically they sabotage the virtual world and the company making it by blowing it up. Then they leave but we arent sure if they killed themselves in the virtual world.
2ne1 is very flexible and can do reggae, r&b, hip hop, ballad, pop, etc. without sounding like they're trying too hard like other groups.

out of all the reactions i've seen about anyone's music, this is my favorite coz they comment on the music and not the production of the MV. These kinds of reactors for me validates that a song is beautiful and meh coz they know what they're talking about, music-wise.
it's probably worth noting that the acoustic part after the first chorus isn't actually part of the full song, there's a separate acoustic version of Come Back Home. (so i guess they just wanted to kinda promote it in the mv but yeah just to clarify)

The Rap threw me off in the M/V to be honest. It was part of the acoustic "Come Back Home (Unplugged)" version, but wasn't part of the actual song, so when it was with the M/V it was really weird and broke it a bit, but overall, they're amazing. Still my favourite group by far.

I'm also really interested in what the vocals have to say about the typical YG nasal singing that even blackpink does? because a lot of people say its not a natural voice and they make it nasally on purpose, especially Rose and Bom?
Daph Duck yeah because the nasalistic singing that Rosé and Bom do is more towards being stylistic and in turn it creates bad vocal habits. Nasality hasn't really been a positive thing in singing because in Contemporary we aim to sing with a clear relaxed voice rather than one that's blocked. If you can show that you can control your nasality then that's fine but over time it became a bad habit for them :/

i've heard that if you don't use correct technique you can only sing for about a few years before your voice breaks down
Daph Duck age plays a part too! Rosé hasn't been doing anything too damaging, but she didn't start out great to begin with so ._. Bom however has shown signs of regression and that's honestly really sad to me.
When you're younger your body heals faster so you're not in immediate danger of losing your voice completely unless you damage it to the point of no return.
How you sing also determines how long you can preserve your voice. For example Seohyun sings lightly so even though she's straining damage to her vocal cords will not be as bad as say Tiffany, who uses a more "aggressive" way of singing.
Constantly singing out of a comfortable range obviously also contributes to vocal damage. Your schedule too, which is why it's important to rest. And that's why some singers have off days because their vocal cords are too tired to sing. I remember being in choir practice once and my voice wouldn't stop cracking cause it was so tired. Even the smallest amount of pressure would cause my voice to crack :/
wow, this is all really interesting to hear from a practiced singer's perspective. Makes me wonder what the companies are doing, hiring vocal coaches but still letting thier singers sing like that
Daph Duck doesn't YG just let his artists do whatever they want? And not everyone can self-teach themselves how to sing well. If bad habits aren't corrected eventually they'll make things worse, and that's Bom's biggest issue.
I honestly don't know who's worse lol JYP or YG. YG doesn't do anything while JYP teaches the wrong things that could harm singers in the long run

First time I heard someone (outside of the kpop fandom) say Minzy had the best voice. I agree but I still like all of their voices.
