Not many people that stan pop, even kpop, understand how much change she brought to her scene (her and her band mates). Like... I was 14 when i begged my mom to fly us from Canada to the US to just watch her (2ne1 concert) and got to see them live. She and her bandmates were my inspirations and seeing the love back then, im glad to see that many of us Blackjacks have kept strong in supporting. I love her and the girls. Thank you Hot Ones for doing your research and giving this queen the spotlight like she deserves. Would love to see a group, maybe a few GOT7 members or smaller group come onto a show like this just to talk about the scene of kpop (jessi or Eric nam too).

I don't care what you say, Sean Evans has the best table-side mannerisms when it comes to handling the spice!! We all know you can handle it just fine Sean - but you always make sure your guest feels safe & comfortable with expressing how they truly feel about the spice!! It's the little things
Yes. I always notice. If the guest was tough like Hale berry and Justin Timberlake Sean also play it tough. If the guest didn't touch water, he didn't either. But if the guest struggle, he play with it too maybe to make them comfortable. He'd drink his water, his milk, he probably already fine with the spice already
Sean Evans never disappoints. His interview questions are so detailed, and his personality so calming, that were I an agent, I’d fight as much as possible to get my clients on Hot Ones.

I've known of CL for years but this is the first interview I've watched of her and she's so well-spoken and had really well researched questions to answer. Love that!
Maybe it's just me, but Sean seems so comfortable in this episode. The Instagram intro is slower, the laughs are allowed to hit for a full beat, and the back and forth dialog seems more like friends just chatting than an interview. I'd gladly watch 30+ min episodes if they all felt as natural as this. (and others in the past have as well, this is just the best recent example. )
Sean's the best interviewer I've ever seen in my life. The way he adapts to different personalities and situations, and is able to make the guest the focal point every single time. If you've never tried interviewing/counselling someone before, it may look easy, trust me- most people can't do it well. Most people who've had a lot of success and made millions of dollars doing it can't even do it well (*ahem*). He's born for it.
Sean has mentioned before that he tries his best to go more at the pace that the other person is going so here I believe he was doing his best to make her more comfortable since its her first time doing an interview like this and even eating on camera
I LOVED this interview. I'd never heard of CL(I'm a 52 year old man, so not her normal fan base) until I saw this video. And, like many before her on this show, I'm now a fan and will be checking out her music and content. Sean and all of the people that work to put this show together do an incredible job bringing out, and presenting what I believe are the true personalities of these larger than life celebrities. This is truly one of my favorite shows, or whatever you want to call it, on any media platform. Thank you all!!
She’s such a sweet and kind girl with a motherly vibe which attracts both young and older fans to her. Koreans are strict In hierarchy thinking but CL sees everyone as equal. When she was a leader all her focus was giving her members the confidence to perform and that’s why they’re known as the original girl crush group, before them girl groups were sugary pop cuteness but CL, BOM, Dara and Minzy broke the mold. They showed with looks, lyrics and performance that girls could be at the level and even outperformed boy groups. Unlike traditional Korean thinking CL and the girls supported LGBT and gave them strength to be true to themselves by befriending open Gays stylists, makeup gurus, fashion designers etc. In kpop there’s a lot of supposed “Queens” but only CL is known by Koreans as The Emperor or The King because she leaves other girls in the dust when performing, there’s just simply no one who has the guts to do what she does. I’ve been a fan before her debut not because she was pretty on the outside but because she has such a cool way of thinking, performing and being.
My dad would agree--you're never too old appreciate a great musician. CL is one of the most talented performers of my generation. Thanks for checking out her music and other projects!!! ♡

The amount of research this man did for this interview is amazing. This is one of the best interviews of a kpop artist because of the amount of work he put into it. So much respect
I only use about 4-6 drops of Da Bomb in my food at lunch and it's acually kinda perfect. I used to mix the Apollo and constrictor to reach that heat. Will probably have to start using all three once I get used to it. Chasing that spicy dragon is a real problem 😄
@@doomzy8622 I have done a teaspoon worth at work with some co-workers on a Friday just so we could all laugh at each other's suffering. But that isn't enjoyable. 🥵😆 The right amount, with food, makes you sweat and has less flavor to takeover the flavor of your food, unlike the Apollo and others. (even though I do like the flavors of them)
If this is your first time seeing her and you're interested in her work. She's currently solo, her latest album is called Alpha. She was formally in the girl group 2ne1 (highly popular even past disbandment). I'd recommend 5 stars, Tie a cherry, Hello B*tches, or Chuck. She has a lot of good music, you'll find something you like with her. She's incredibly versatile.

i fucking love this woman! i certainly would have never thought she would be on an episode, but i'm so glad she was! I hope more people start to love her too.
CL has an innate ability to gel with so many different kinds of people. People become a fan of her before they've even heard her music. She's relatable and regal at the same time.
I can't stress enough how much this lady impacted me and the lives of other young teens growing up. She showed us what glamour can truly look like, which is that we can be both gritty, ugly, bold, and also vulnerable without shame or guilt. Everything about her was primed to be rejected by Korea at the time, but she took the risk and chose to maintain her authenticity through it all. Queen forever.
Been looking up to her since I was 11 (20 now). Gotta say she helped me a lot with discovering myself and being more expressive. She really shows you how to be the queen. 🍒
CL is a singer/rapper/songwritter, she has been in the music scene since 2009, was the leader of the extremely popular group 2NE1, they really dominated Asia and where one of the first ones to cross over to the US audience, even touring there. She is now an independent solo artist and has released her first studio album ALPHA! ✨
I’ve never really been familiar of CL’s music and craft before but while watching, she’s just so cool and fun to vibe with. Her energy matching with Sean’s made this episode one of the best this season.
Thanks for the nice comment! 🍒✨ you can check out her new album ALPHA, her first project as an independent solo artist. You'll finde the audio, video and performances on her youtube channel🔥
Sean Evans is such a pro at treating his guests like human beings one reason I’m such a fan of this show. All his questions are always so respectful and a great way for us the viewer and himself to actually get to know these talented people.
I have never seen an interviewer better at handling and making guests as comfortable as he can. It’s incredible. Pay attention to what he says after he puts the last dab. He humbly says no showmanship and blames it on the “ shakes” what a class act
Sean is, in my opinion, what every interviewer should aspire to be. He is humbling, he's kind when the guests need it, but he also knows just the right amount of shit to talk with the guests that will talk it back to him. If there were more people that interviewed people like Sean, I genuinely think his classiness would pass on to people and we would live in a better society.

His people do research and hand it to him to look over and interview her. Let me guess, you've never seen Hot Ones until CL was on?
Ugh I would love to see Jessi and Got7!
Damn. My mom wouldn't even take me to the mall. Tbh I dont think we ever went anywhere just me and her.
It would be so cool to have a group tho..like GOT7, BTS etc but ig that won't be happening any time soon

Sean and all of the people that work to put this show together do an incredible job bringing out, and presenting what I believe are the true personalities of these larger than life celebrities. This is truly one of my favorite shows, or whatever you want to call it, on any media platform. Thank you all!!
Welcome. We stan talent
