Being gay in Korea is a hard life. A lot of people think its horrible and the only time you can really be intimate and together is in the car. Driving down the road with someone else, no one will think twice of you. Unless you're making out then that's just another topic. 8) I always assumed the 2nd dude left the relationship to finally "act" like a proper Korean and marry someone from the opposite gender. There is a lot of social pressure to marry and who else to marry then.. not your actual lover! This is such a good song and video.

Korea is actually very religious, Having gone and studied there the conception of Korea being conservative is wrong. Also, K.will did say in an interview that this song isn't about a gay couple but instead of a strong friendship between two guys is being broken because one of the guys is getting married. Seo InGuk the guy driving the car is sad that his friend Ahn Jae-Hyun the guy that is getting married won't be spending more time with him. Korea is more progressive than conservative. the country is opening up to more things as the younger generation learn more about the world.

I get why a lot of people get super suprised by the ending (specially since we're talking about a country that still has a lot to accomplish when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights) BUT I gotta say, with the way the main guy acts I would never think he was in love with the girl - hell even some of the people reacting said he didn't like her. The way he acts is not consistent with someone in love: he's clearly annoyed by her in various occasions; but since we live in a heteronormative world, the only way we see that is "ow he must be in love with her" which is just a way of showing how casual we rly are when it comes to toxic relationships. Whomever directed this video played with the knowledge that we would never guess the true object of the guys love, which is why, if you rewatch the video all of it makes sense, and it's not just a plot twist for the sake of it.
It’s because of how lead spent more time with the girl and the video itself focused mainly on her and showed her more than the best friend that we sort of didn’t see the guy best friend being focused at all till the wedding. Now imagine this video being shot with the two male characters interacting more and the lead being shown with pained expressions while he’s with his guy best friend. Shipping culture is so huge that we ship a lot of STRAIGHT characters together so if the video focused more on the males everyone would’ve been at LEAST suspicious right from the beginning, heck people would’ve shipped them even if they didn’t end with that plot twist. Bottom line, it’s the way that the MV was shot focusing HEAVILY on the male lead and female that made everyone assume that he was straight and in love with her because logically movies/series etc usually focus on the leads. Even then, it took people a while to arrive at the conclusion that he liked her because of how annoyed he was with her.

According to that person: there is two different storylines going on (one in the car & one at the wedding). Wedding storyline happens in the past and the pov is heartbroken guy's. Car storyline happening in the moment, but the pov belongs to some passenger sitting at the backseat (someone who doesn't know anything about the guy, like us watchers). So maybe the guy is telling the passenger about this close friend he loved (who had married recently & broke his heart), but he didn't mention anything about that close friends gender. What we actually saw on the front seat was the passengers interpretation of that story, of that love interest. We saw the girl sitting in the car with him because the passenger thought about it hetero-typically (like we would have too probably). It was only the car scenes that suggested the girl as love interest. In all other scenes (which was from the guys pov) it was clear he was on good terms with the groom and not with the bride. It all makes sense watching with the knowledge of the plot twist. It was the car scenes (our point of view) that was odd this whole time. And once we see what he did with the photo, the groom is imagined on the front seat instead of the bride. Only after that the pov in the car is corrected. (:

Korea is actually very religious, Having gone and studied there the conception of Korea being conservative is wrong. Also, K.will did say in an interview that this song isn't about a gay couple but instead of a strong friendship between two guys is being broken because one of the guys is getting married. I get why a lot of people get super suprised by the ending (specially since we're talking about a country that still has a lot to accomplish when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights) BUT I gotta say, with the way the main guy acts I would never think he was in love with the girl - hell even some of the people reacting said he didn't like her. The way he acts is not consistent with someone in love: he's clearly annoyed by her in various occasions; but since we live in a heteronormative world, the only way we see that is "ow he must be in love with her" which is just a way of showing how casual we rly are when it comes to toxic relationships.
Whomever directed this video played with the knowledge that we would never guess the true object of the guys love, which is why, if you rewatch the video all of it makes sense, and it's not just a plot twist for the sake of it.

It’s because of how lead spent more time with the girl and the video itself focused mainly on her and showed her more than the best friend that we sort of didn’t see the guy best friend being focused at all till the wedding. Now imagine this video being shot with the two male characters interacting more and the lead being shown with pained expressions while he’s with his guy best friend. Shipping culture is so huge that we ship a lot of STRAIGHT characters together so if the video focused more on the males everyone would’ve been at LEAST suspicious right from the beginning, heck people would’ve shipped them even if they didn’t end with that plot twist. Bottom line, it’s the way that the MV was shot focusing HEAVILY on the male lead and female that made everyone assume that he was straight and in love with her because logically movies/series etc usually focus on the leads. Even then, it took people a while to arrive at the conclusion that he liked her because of how annoyed he was with her.
@@ButILikeYouAndThatIsNotFake I remember reading someone's interpretation about the mv long ago and it made sense to me. According to that person: there is two different storylines going on (one in the car & one at the wedding). Wedding storyline happens in the past and the pov is heartbroken guy's. Car storyline happening in the moment, but the pov belongs to some passenger sitting at the backseat (someone who doesn't know anything about the guy, like us watchers). So maybe the guy is telling the passenger about this close friend he loved (who had married recently & broke his heart), but he didn't mention anything about that close friends gender. What we actually saw on the front seat was the passengers interpretation of that story, of that love interest. We saw the girl sitting in the car with him because the passenger thought about it hetero-typically (like we would have too probably). It was only the car scenes that suggested the girl as love interest. In all other scenes (which was from the guys pov) it was clear he was on good terms with the groom and not with the bride. It all makes sense watching with the knowledge of the plot twist. It was the car scenes (our point of view) that was odd this whole time. And once we see what he did with the photo, the groom is imagined on the front seat instead of the bride. Only after that the pov in the car is corrected. (:
