To those saying there isn't anything like this here in the USA... there used to be. Back in the mid-1960's, I was eating something very similar to this that was served at the "Food Circus" (a big food court, now called The Armory) at the Seattle Center. It was the same flying-saucer shape, with hamburger and chopped onions inside. The sandwich was called the "Space Burger", which made sense since we were in the middle of the Space Race with the USSR. There are a lot more ingredients in this UFO burger, but it is the same thing as the "Space Burger", more or less.

Honestly this just reminds me of those grilled cheese clam sandwich makers that took this same concept and put it to a grilled cheese sandwich. People can't give away those things now, it was such a fad. My family had one and I enjoyed it the odd time when my mom would make grilled cheese that way, but eventually I just begged her to make it on a regular stove pan because the old way was soooo much better.
I predict this coming to the USA would come and go the same. It seems like, according to you, that's already happened lol.

Looks delicious. I wonder how much that would cost with all the preparation and ingredients.
About 10-15 years ago in Ohio, I was talking to some friends at work about the usual stuff people in their early 20s talk about while unloading trucks at walmart (how we would prep for the zombie apocalypse, movie script ideas, get rich quick inventions, etc.) and I suggested the "sloppless joe" instead of a sloppy joe. Basically everything contained in the bun or something. It was only a year later I think that one of them sent me a pic of a boxed frozen version of it being made. Lol.
    Nothing new under the sun.

@@cahillrebel The video made the process seem much longer than it would really be. For some reason they felt it necessary to show every step of the food prep, but in reality all of that would be completed before doors open for business. They also had their meats pre-portioned so it seems that all that would really go into it is assembly and then putting in the press, which I doubt takes more than a minute or two. The most time consuming thing would be cooking the burger patties, because that's not something you would generally pre-portion and you want the patties fresh cooked. So with all that in mind you're probably looking at about 10 minutes to prepare one assuming you have to cook the pattie as well

When I was in my High School days back then our canteen/cafeteria had this burger called Flying Saucer, it has different filling like mayo-tuna, bacon and egg w/ or w/o cheese, corned beef spicy/non spicy. It's kinda like this one without the UFO shapea and yeah, it doesn't spill and it's sooo good specially that it's hot while eating (from after the pressing machine or smth) ahh I miss that snack lol, I've never tried or seen something like that again after I graduated idk if the school is still selling that Flying saucer sandwich/burger.
