Geez, I didn't realize that the city had that many historical buildings, much less cozy-looking venues. And, I've gotta say, you've outdone yourself with the humor this time!
Whoa. Good to see a video of yours again. I hadn't seen one pop up in my home feed in awhile so I didn't even realize you were still making videos. lol.
I’ve started calling your sarcasm humor/really weird and funny remarks Wide world stadium humor because there’s really nothing else like it your videos are amazing
my daughter says "what in the wide world of stadiums" rather than "what is that?" or "what the heck?" these days. I think of his humour as "Dad humour" myself but its pretty good most of the time :)
I spent my teen years in Lousiville back in the 70s! I visited a few years ago and wow the changes! 3 of the stadiums can be used by Pro teams IF Louisville was considered for expansion teams! I'm bookmarking this video!!!
I have an idea for a video: “Where NFL quarterbacks went to high school”. It would be cool to see the stadium and the neighborhood they grew up in to get a feel for their upbringing.
He should have mentioned The Gardens is one of the most important venues in the history of professional wrestling in America. Not did I see Ozzy there, I also saw Andy Kaufman get pile driven by Jerry Lawler.
Churchill Downs is one of the most iconic sports venues ever. I didn't know they extended its capacity but it's definitely a eye catcher. Imagine an NFL game played there.. How cool that'd be!
The Yum Center is actually now the biggest arena in the state. Kentucky recently got renovations to theirs to replace some bleachers with chairbacks, and decreased their capacity to just over 20k. A few sites just haven't updated that yet.
Louisville Gardens has hosted about a thousand professional wrestling events, including weekly shows in the 1970's and 80's. Jim Cornette has a book about it, Tuesday Night at the Gardens. Some videos on famous wrestling venues would be interesting. Besides the large arenas and stadiums that have held Wrestlemania and other big WWE events, most cities had an arena like Louisville Gardens. Before 1990, wrestling was all regional promotions ('territories; think college conferences versus the NFL), and many of them would have a regular touring schedule, running some cities monthly or even weekly. You could pick venues by region, by state, by promotion, by longevity, etc. That's enough content to keep you going for years.
its really long too don't forget, on the google maps looks like 650m long grandstand. That's 6 and a half football fields. To amobz's comment wiki says 50,000 seat in the grandstand which indicates over 100k in the infield!
Surprisingly good video for a second-tier US city. Here are some cities I'd like to see: Tokyo (great baseball as well as Olympic venues), Chicago, Bay Area, Stockholm, Barcelona (Olympics and basketball venues as well as football), Athens, Buenos Aires and Atlanta
Rupp Arena used to be the largest in basketball arena in the state going by seating capacity but a while back they got rid of their bleacher seats and dropped from 23k to 20k so The Yum! Center does hold more for basketball now.
I'm not a horsey race fan but I suppose my favourite is Churchill Downs, it looks iconic and historical and all that. The soccer stadium that has a roof like bourbon barrels will be close second. Don't knock KFC man, my children love that place and I think its healthier than Macky Deez and Burger King but maybe that's not saying much.
And KFC did not start in Louisville. It began in Corbin Kentucky and the first franchise was in South Salt Lake City Utah in 1952. The company wasn't even headquartered in Louisville until 1966, after stints in Nashville and Shelbyville, KY as the headquarters city.
YOU GOT THE PRONUNCIATION RIGHT!!!
As a Kentucky Resident I thank you!
Geez, I didn't realize that the city had that many historical buildings, much less cozy-looking venues. And, I've gotta say, you've outdone yourself with the humor this time!
I miss Louisville Basketball in Freedom Hall. The Yum Center is nice and all, but Freedom Hall has so much history and felt more like home

You should do videos like the history of blank stadium or the blank team’s stadiums
For instance Idaho’s Kibbe Dome or the Minnesota Twins ballparks
Mailboxes; good one! 🤣🤣🤣😂
Go Cards! Also that city in the eastern part of the state had a renovation that put their arena to smaller than the Yum Center.
6:00 The UFL Louisville Spirit should play at Chirchhill Downs

Anytime I Hear Anything About Louisville All I Can Think About Is Corny
Andy Kaufman wrestled in the Gardens. That alone makes it a historical building😂
Crazy, Churchill Downs doesn't look like they'd hold that many spectators
Standing Room Only in the infield

How much did state taxpayers spend on that football stadium? Is it used more than 12 times a year?
