1:08 I think they may have meant that they don't want people to modify the unloader in order to change the total usable range to get a higher max output, not that using the unmodified unloader range would be an issue. I remember modding the unloader on the old SunJoe pro pump and getting an additional 200 PSI by doing so.
I though kind of the same until they made it to where you can’t even turn the knob with a wrench. 🤣 If that’s the case they that was poorly worded. They should have said “modify” or something like that.
@@CarsWithKeav I'm in alignment with you that if that was their intent that they should have never included an unloader valve. @@CarsWithKeav You can adjust the unloader on pressure washers. You're supposed to do it with a PSI gauge though. You can cause damage, mostly with over pressurizing or heat. An unloader just bypasses flow when it reaches a certain PSI. Too much bypass and you'll overheat the pump.
@@BillHamal I’ve heard several others mention that. Just why would they not have thought of that after 6 months of development? Their website says the cord is 16 feet, but it’s more like 30 feet. @@CarsWithKeav It would be interesting to know what size wire they used for the power cord, it should be a 14 AWG wire minimum. It would be funny if they were using a small 16 AWG cord
Keav I have the European version of the mk2. I noticed that - compared to my old cheaper pressure washer - the handle on my mtm sgs35 is now much harder to press in than it was previously. I think pressure is building up which affects the ease of pressing in the trigger. Once trigger is pressed in, everything feels normal. Have you experienced this as well?
I have noticed on the more powerful machines the trigger does feel a bit more tense depending on the model and how much pressure is built up. Like the pop the Big Boi has on initial pull. AR does it as well. The Active though has a more linear ramp so it doesn’t have that.
You got the power and we don’t. Jealous I am. This motor just doesn’t seem to want to turnover on many of our circuits. Hit and miss here unfortunately with the 120v circuit.
I wish the US had adopted the 240v standard as tools run and last longer. Equipment, such as vapor cleaners, warmup much quicker and perform better on 240v; likely the reason most detailers do not reach for their vapor cleaner is because of the hassle of getting it prepped and waiting too long to use it.
I got the original version when it was released. When it works, it is a fantastic machine very quiet & powerful. The electrical issues killed the experience, especially when you pay top $$ for a high-end machine. After working with Bigboi for several months of trying different things including changing the capacitor to the "correct" spec, I had given up. Luckily, I was able to get a full refund from BigBoi. I am now using the Active 2.3, it's annoyingly loud, but at least it works every time.
Yeah Active at least got the performance down and on a 15 amp circuit, but missed on the sound. What’s worse is we always look back at the AR and Kranzle and wonder how something developed so long ago is still a top pick. Active almost had a home run on their hands.
@ That sucks maybe if you don’t mind the nose the Active is a possibility. It’s been proven pretty reliable so far. I only have maybe two comments saying they had an issue and they were resolved quickly. One person said they couldn’t get customer service to respond. I think that’s an isolated incident.
I’ve done all of this already it is a voltage issue with the motor not getting the juice it needs. They lockout the adjustment knob now they recommended adjusting that for version 1, but don’t recommend for MK2.
For a DIYer, if you can get 1,000 PSI and around 2 GPM out of an Active 2.0, is there a need to jump up to the AR630, BigBoi or other mid tier pressure washer? I get the durability need for a pro, but I've been struggling to justify it as a DIYer.
Not really it’s a want thing really. Like wanting the newest iPhone, but don’t really need it. Active 2.0 will get you all you need and it’s rated for twice the hours of say a Ryobi. They now have replacement parts for it as well and a great customer support team.
Hello Keav, Is it possible for you to create and compose a spreadsheet with all the pressure washer details pro and cons and test results. Looking for a pressure washer and would like to see the breakdown. I want something that has good PSI and GPM and that requires minimal maintenance and will last.
If I ever go full time with this I will for sure so that. Unfortunately I just barely have the time to make and edit the videos. I would say though I think for all you mentions the AR630 is the pick. My family is complaining about the sound of the Active 2.3 finally.
116 volts is actually pretty low for a circuit that has no load. Normal voltages in every area around me is between 121 and 123 volts, but you should be good down to about 110v. My original unit has hummed once or twice. I turned it off and unplugged the unit and then plugged it back in. Went away. The only issue I have had with the original is slightly lower pressures and GPM than advertised and how it has continued to run after releasing the trigger. Has done that maybe 3 or 4 times on me. Oh, and every single time I unplug the unit and plug it back in, I have to hit the reset the plug switch before use. What I can't get over is how low the amp draw is for a pressure washer that does put out the gpm that it does. Even though I really like mine, I would not recommend it to others. I think the AR Blue would be my recommendation, assuming someone has a 20 amp circuit. Great video and it sucks that their quality control is so poor.
Low amp draw is because of the 4 pole motor I would assume. For just about my whole area 116 to 118 is very normal. It’s very rural area so electricity travels long distances and we are nowhere near any substations. And literally a 1/2 mile from the end of the power line. People down the road get from another power source coming the opposite direction.
@@CarsWithKeav I was really hoping that this would work out. I like the fact that it's quiet from your video. Too bad they can't make this work. Your machine sounds like mine, but mine didn't even start. I had to do a WeChat video and walk them through the diagnostic testing. Do you have any good recommendation that is quiet and similar to the MKII Pressure washer?

@CarsWithKeav it's unfortunate. The industry has a ton of knowledge at their fingertips and yet fail to make it happen. Josh has some tricks up his sleeve....
@@IamDetailedAF They will see what happens when a real detailer overseas the development and actually will send test units to me and others to get their opinions and see how it works on their circuits.
@@CAPTJ696 They are claiming now they can fix the hum by shortening the electrical cord. How did they not think of that in the first place. Funny website says 16 feet was the cord length yet it’s more like 30 feet.
Ah, this sucks. I'm a mobile detailer in Atlanta and have REALLY really been wanting a Big Boi for the specs and lower noise level. After watching this video, I am definitely a little hesitant. I work out of a Grand Cherokee, so I plug into my client's water spigot and power. I feel like this thing would give me a lot of grief and frustration and become unreliable very quickly. Watching their own videos, with them talking about their quality and design and then seeing a number of videos with serious issues with different products 🤔
Yeah it's crazy, this company posted two round chair type video supportive of their units and then stating that people in USA are "keyboard heros". What the #&$* really. Keep the garbage in Europe
Not just that, but very smirky towards us and blaming it on our circuits. You’re bringing a product to our country were not going over there and bringing it back. You should have known the market you were selling to.
The Chinese manufacturer just changed the name of this machine. There is no problem at all when using 220V locally, but there is a problem with the motor jamming when using 110-120v.
I actually own the prior iteration of BIGBOI Washr Pro unit and it's crazy that this company sold units in United States with issues involving surging due to voltage. I lost 700 bucks on a product that was faulty from the start
Why did you lose $700, it took me 4 month fighting with them and then filling a complaint with my states consumer protection agency and set up a small claims lawsuit. Took a little while but I got all of my money back.
@69HemiRoadrunner Glad you are persistent and got your money! Some just don’t want to go through the hassle. Buying on an Amex card is a good idea as well for consumer protection.
Yeah doesn't seem that they're capable of delivering a good product, and either aren't bothering to do meaningful testing prior to approving a design for production or knowing that there are fundamental issues, and not caring.
I have this unit and it is fantastic in every way. Absolutely love it but I am in Australia and obviously we have the 220-240V power here. Never experienced any issues with the unit whatsoever. Sad to see Bigboi couldn't set the Pro up for the U.S. market. Maybe if they detuned it slightly it might have been fine. Who knows.
@ Big Boi has the Duo which is a great machine so far. No complaints on videos and has better numbers than the Pro. Problem is they now have that dark cloud of the hum which makes you apprehensive to purchase one. Active 2.0 is such a great bang for your buck machine.
What good is a commercial pressure washer when it doesn’t consistently start upon use. BigBoi spent the greater part of 2024 claiming to fix their problem only to find out that the problems still exist. This is not good, just go with a reliable brand with consistent results. My AR630 has been flawless since installed back in June. Glad I went with the AR.
AR630 is the way it’s just good at everything. I personally don’t think they could figure it out and just launched with what they could and added a money back guarantee to deal with all the problem units. Just my opinion.
@@heniz100 i feel your pain. I waited 3 plus months for the BigBoi and had prepaid for it. They kept telling me that next month it will be shipped and delivered to you. Well after 3 consecutive months of no progress no shipment, I asked for them to cancel my order and refund my credit card. I then purchased the Ammo630 which is an all black AR630 and it was delivered within 3 days of my order and never looked back.
The electric motor is simply underpowered for that big triplex pump. it should be a 56c bolt pattern unit and you would probably be better off with a universal nema motor or even just building your own for that price with an AR pump and a TSS pressure sensor. There is a reason other quality pressure washers push more amps.
That’s possible, but to me it’s we don’t have enough juice to get the 4 pole motor going as its stalls and over amps to try and get going. You could be right though they should have just went with a 2 pole motor like everybody else. They wanted that quiet and under 15 amps so they went for it. Probably more time was needed in real world testing to get it dialed in.
@@CarsWithKeav if they went with a 2 pole the motor would be spinning at 3600 rpm and they would need a pump rated at that rpm. They list the motor as a 4 pole running at 1450rpm I wonder if it is just a 50hz motor they are using as all the 60hz 4 pole motors I looked at for my build were rated at 1750rpm.
@@CarsWithKeav I am not a electrical engineer just going on my experience in both the industrial air compressor and RO filtered water business that I have worked on motors up to 500HP 3 Phase. The speed of the motor is determined by the number of poles and frequency of the power supply. The US uses 60hz. So a motor rated at a synchronous speed of 3600rpm would be a 2 pole, 1800 rpm would be 4 pole, 1200 rpm would be 6 pole and 900 rpm would be 8 pole. According to the spec sheet for the RCA3 Pro it has a US Motor T2C2JHC that is a 1800RPM 4 Pole with voltage rating of 115/208-230 and Full Load Amps of 18.9/10.3-9.4.
@ Already tried that. For the consumer sticker says not to adjust the knob or possible warranty void. I wouldn’t advise my audience to do that. I’ve been dealing with them with these units for 8 months now between both versions they all hum on my circuit and many others. It’s a lost cause for me at the moment and not worth my time unfortunately to play with it anymore. Moving on to the next product. Thanks for the help and suggestions!
Not needed, but I want all the flow. 🤣 Some machines are so tuned to a specific performance through wobble plates and other things you can’t get them to get better numbers just with a nozzle change. I find on Induction units with PCB boards they are limited as well and dialed to a specific setting.
BigBoi, you just lost a potential customer :( Love the numbers, and especially the quietness...but not being able to resolve the humming speaks to the overall quality.
I'm not touching any other BIGBOI product and when US purchasers who've expressed unsatisfactory experience with their BIGBOI WASHR unit, the owner call these folks "keyboard heros". We got scammed no doubt!
We can’t get our hands on those in the U.S. at least not yet. Looks like spring time for the 630 duo here. Comet had only released one or two models in the U.S. and nothing new for quite some time. AR told me at SEMA they were retooling all their equipment and coming out with improved 630 models with TSS on/off switches.
Washing cars is meditative, could be why they have a humming machine. That way you can meditate when washing your car.

@@entasis.fifty-four I wish so as well plus the power makes it to where you don’t need gas powered pressure washers as much.
@ would have loved to go with AR, but don’t have 20A available.
@ That sucks maybe if you don’t mind the nose the Active is a possibility. It’s been proven pretty reliable so far. I only have maybe two comments saying they had an issue and they were resolved quickly. One person said they couldn’t get customer service to respond. I think that’s an isolated incident.
You need to open green nob and adjust it go max lov ring nob then 2 times back up
I’ve done all of this already it is a voltage issue with the motor not getting the juice it needs. They lockout the adjustment knob now they recommended adjusting that for version 1, but don’t recommend for MK2.
Keav. Has anyone ever told u...That u look like a villain in an Indiana Jones movie? 🤣🤣🤣
I bet with my hair I could have at least been an extra in the Crystal Skull movie with all the greasers. 🤣🤣🤣
Keav what kind of shop table do you have?
Hello Keav,
Is it possible for you to create and compose a spreadsheet with all the pressure washer details pro and cons and test results.
What is the name of that tape you use
Blue Monster tape. You can get at Home Depot
I couldn’t get mine to start. No water pressure. I called them and will need to return the unit.
That sucks! Hope they return process is no hassle they says it’s a 30 day money back guarantee.
@ AR630 all day is what you want, but it’s 20 amp.
@@CarsWithKeav I decided to go with the ACTIVE 2.3 after watching your video. I didn’t have a 20amp.
@ It’s a great machine just a little loud, but it’s a pleasant sound.
Keav, have you tried plugging into a non-GFCI outlet? Not ideal but GFCIs have always caused me weird problems.
My 30 Amp outlet is not GFCI just the plug from the Big Boi.
Aloha Keav, as always great review sir, my experience with BIGBOI was fantastic. how ever during the transport the oil cap cover was damage, their customer service was 10/10 watch your video and @imjoshv you guys are very informative and funny, love it. guys keep up the good work. i love my new BIGBOI TASTIC...!!!!
Glad you had such a great experience! Seems to be hot or miss with issues.
Your ryobi collection gonna give matt heart attack 😂
That’s the reason I use Ryobi. 🤣🤣🤣
This makes me nervous for the amount of time i have waited... thanks for the video
I really thought it was going to run perfect with all the time they had taken to resolve issues.
@@CarsWithKeav same thing i took it out the box and its humming. i had to toggle the on and off with the nozzle off the gun for it to work. its nice when it is working lol.. now im considering getting my refund my dog ryobi is more reliable. is it still humming for you?
@ That sucks the hum seems to be just as much of an issue now than before, but who knows. Really wished they figured it out.
KeavNasty with the BigBoi!!!! #DETAILSFTW
If they stopped the humming then I would really complain about it under performing to its competitors. So much potential squandered away.
Yeah, Keav..I'm waiting to Josh to complete the development of his upcoming power washer. I totally feel like I was suckered with BIGBOI
If the hum/cluster mess-ery gets worked out, I would LOVE to have one.
P.S. - WHY THE STUPID ADJUSTMENT KNOB THAT YOU CAN'T ADJUST?! I've never understood why manufacturers do stuff like this in multiple industries.
ATL represent! This thing with the Hum would be hit and miss depending on the clients power source and house circuit. Yeah, my OCD want to adjust just because 🤣 I bet you have to stick with a 15amp because of that too some won’t have a 20 amp.
Thanks for the info!
That sucks and then they blamed our circuits for not doing thorough real world research in the country you are launching in. 🤷♂️
@69HemiRoadrunner Glad you are persistent and got your money! Some just don’t want to go through the hassle. Buying on an Amex card is a good idea as well for consumer protection.
Thanks Keav ..
Fantastic. I thank you again for a great review and that we are not getting one of these.
It’s likes playing the lottery on if your getting the hum or not. Just a bit risky.
Whats up Keav! Lets see what BigBoi got going on now, seems like its going to be a problem.
Maybe they can get in "touch" for some "tips" on how to improve 🤣Solid Vid as Usual Keav!
Yeah doesn't seem that they're capable of delivering a good product, and either aren't bothering to do meaningful testing prior to approving a design for production or knowing that there are fundamental issues, and not caring.
Don’t worry it will all be my electrical circuits fault. 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
I’ve always said testing in a lab is not the same as real world. You develop in the lab and then dial the product in the real world.
Who knows.
Yeah it’s hit and miss here. They to me dropped the ball here because it had so much potential. So jealous of your 220v.
Sticker on an adjustment knob that says adjusting that knob “may void your warranty” is basically a non-starter. Never mind the hum.
Yeah like WTF! You stick an adjustment knob in front of me I’m going to turn it. 🤣
😂 I’m in Australia and haven’t had a single issue with mine
Seems to be no issues with the 240V ones. Just issues with some of the 120V systems in the U.S.
Wait so it does the same numbers at the active 2.0???
Pretty much! Their Duo model did better at 2.12 GPM on my tests.
@ keep going back to that 2.0. Especially at the price. Hard to justify another $300 to get a big junk or a 2.3 for basically the same numbers.
@ Big Boi has the Duo which is a great machine so far. No complaints on videos and has better numbers than the Pro. Problem is they now have that dark cloud of the hum which makes you apprehensive to purchase one. Active 2.0 is such a great bang for your buck machine.
@ it always amazes me how companies take so much time in r&d and then launch a product to the market with issues.
@ Agreed
If they would just put some of that energy into the hummm..😂😅😂 made me laugh ..Keav
I was so dang frustrated I couldn’t break the bottle and the hum just put me over the edge. 🤣
Can't blame you there...lol......Now we just need to figure out how to make our 2.3s that quiet 🤔😁
@ This is the goal. They say they are working on that. We shall see I myself am going to try and figure something out with a wash cart.
@@CarsWithKeav 🤞🙏
Hahaha, don't turn this knob, but but I want to turn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to adjust it! That’s what it’s for. 🤣
I wish I would have went with the AR 😢
I wish I would have went with the AR 😢
@ I wonder if my RCA3 Pro motor is 4 pole? It’s 2hp and runs at 1750rpm I believe.
@@CarsWithKeavmessaged you on IG😅
Wizards has a better foam cannon with the selective spray patterns.
I have reviewed that one and it worked horribly for me unfortunately. It barely foamed.
Dang yeah humming
I had hopes it wouldn’t hum, but right out of the box.
Need at least 15 apms press reset button on 🔌 before evry. Use
This is a 30 amp circuit and you need voltage to turn the motor then the amps come in. Pressing the reset does not stop the hum.
@CarsWithKeav yes chek amps when running mine works fine but try adjust pressure noob open it then run the unit mybae hum stops
You know, I can get a “humming” device that’s much smaller and lighter for cheaper. Just saying.
😊😊😊
Best comment today. 🤣🤣🤣
Just get the Kranzle
That’s an option for sure. I’ll just grab an AR630 and get way more performance for 40% less.
@@CarsWithKeav or that
thanks for the content Keav
DOA 😂
You're also losing too many cleaning units when you use a 4.5 iver a 4.0 nozzle. Not worth it.
For vehicles if you can get over 2gal a min with around 1,000 psi that's perfect. You dont need more psi for vehicles.
4.0 is the move for these if and when it works.
Yeah, some don’t have it and others do it’s hit and miss. As a customer how do you know if it’s going to him on you?
DON'T MAKE A KNOB YOUR PRIMARY COLOR IF ITS NOT A TOUCH POINT
AGREED!
I think I'll wait for the bigboi 3.0 that huming is Sooooooooo annoying
If your lucky they will solve the turn on problem by the MK XXV version but the humming will take until the MK XL version is released.
At this rate 2026 with version 4.0 is about when they’ll get it right. 🤣
Humming might happen until the U.S. goes to 240V. 🤣
I'm not touching any other BIGBOI product and when US purchasers who've expressed unsatisfactory experience with their BIGBOI WASHR unit, the owner call these folks "keyboard heros". We got scammed no doubt!
Enjoy the video
Thx
$630 for that low level of performance overpowered by all the cons... don't waste your money😂
It’s for sure underperforming and I didn’t even focus on that because of the hum.
Thanks for the video, I don’t like that hum. It is obviously humming no mater what they say… John
Don’t worry it will be my fault in the end or they could blame my electrician or power company too. 🤣
@@CarsWithKeav that may be what they say but I’m pretty sure you do everything right. Thanks again.
