My local Triumph Dealer has a Speedmaster that has a solo seat, wrapped pipes, and the Bobber handlebars. Looks amazing and the ride has to be better then the Bobber.
I love Bobber. It's just pure art and I can't resist that sort of beauty. It just looks so cool and classic at the same time and will deffo get attentions on the road. However, Speedmaster is unreal too. It's more like a comfortable version of Bobber and got more ways to be customised in a more classic look which I prefer. It just makes you feel more like a classic gentleman. So if I have to choose, a Speedmaster would be the one. Or I'll work my arse off to get both. :P
You have really nailed it with this review. To the point and perfect length. Don't fancy either bike, but enjoyed watching and learning about them. Your camera work is perfection too.
Nice review! I have a 2018 SpeedMaster purchased new in 2020. Beach bars are a personal preference. I know many hate it, but for me, it is one of the best addition after I coupled it with Motone up & over 1 inch risers. I'm a certified IronButt Rider, finished 3 1000 mile in 24 hour rides all on this SpeedMaster. With Corbin seats & quick release backrest, Madstad quick release windshield and Viking hard saddlebags, this is my weekend tourer, city ride bike AND cross-country tourer all in one!
Speemaster, rear seat removed, blacked out, bags, with different paint on the tank besides their bunk red or blue, is the perfect Triumph for me. I saw one with Cranberry Red tank and was shocked at how good and natural it looked. Another with black parts off the bobber, made an awesome SM. Triumph also gave all the newest colors to all the other models but not the SM which sucks.
Your reviews are excellent mate. Thanks for making them. Having owned a Bonneville T100 in the past, it's been invaluable to help get my head around the range after all these years.
Bought the Bobber about 3 months ago, rode if for about 3000km but already sold it again due to lack in comfort. It's an amazing looking bike and great for small trips to the pub and back, but not that good for commuting let alone longer trips. Even installed a high-end Wilber's suspension but didn't do much for me (72kg weight). Still great looking though.
I ran out to buy the bobber when it first came out. I still have my 675r but had to have that 17 bobber. Still happy with it in 2021 overall it’s a very cool bike. Only issue is with the tire pressure I dislike having tube tires. But haven’t tried out that seal kit just yet. Now I’m broke so I’ll keep em both for a while longer .
Speedmaster is set up to carry more weight and, as I’m no shrimp, I bought the Speedmaster. After a Canadian year and bit of riding (that works out to eight months given the Dark Time) I’m pleased to say I made an excellent choice. Top notch comparative analysis! Cheers!
I've never worked out why the Speedmaster grinds the pegs much sooner than the Bobber Even with the mid mount pegs fitted. Maybe the forks are an inch shorter or something? Wonder if the 2021 version is improved?
Currently own a 2020 T120 (Bud Ekins). Thinking that when it needs swapping I'll side step to the Speedmaster, Originally went in to buy the Speedmaster but saw the new Bud Ekins sitting there (and being a massive Steve McQueen/ Bud Ekins fanboy) my heart just reigned over me! Recently had a side by side comparison with @Willie T's Speedmaster and I'm still not sure I made the right decision.
Good comment Richie, what is not impressing you with the t120? cracking bike and you have the best color scheme. However, the new euro 5 models are lighter more agile and improved across the board. I'm about to make a decision soon when I test ride the t120 and speedmaster , my head says t120 but heart wants the speedmaster as I have had a kawasaki vulcan before and enjoyed the cruiser style.
@@Row2nd To be fair there's nothing I don't like about my T120, I don't even mind the stock tyres (which everyone else seems to hate). Its not my main ride, I also have a new Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT which is my daily rider/tourer. My T120 is a perfect personal "great escape" bike I can relax on and ride on a day off exploring the English countryside! 👌
I’m sure I’d enjoy the Bobber more as I don’t really carry passengers. But I just really don’t like the rear end on them so would probably spend a bit of extra cash getting rid of the mudguard etc to tidy it all up.
I reccomend a Wilburs fully adjustable shock upgrade makes the bike super comfy on highway no more spine tingling bumps. Although it is a 1500 dollar shock but it guarentees 100 percent you can ride this bike 8 hours and more not pain.
If you can change the foot pegs to highway shift or boards, Bob tell me you can curve back the handlebars back a bit on the Bobber and I’d most likely be Bobbing along the Camino
Thanks for the awesome review I’m looking into buying a speed master, I bought the Bobber TFC (thanks to your review about a year ago) and I love it. I like the last year’s paint scheme with the black and white tank with the gold pinstripes better than the black and white paint from this year. Do you think it’s a better bike? Looking at the specs they look about the same. I want to do a bit longer rides than I do on my Bobber, but I guess my big question is, are the bikes so similar that I’m just buying the same bike with different handlebars and foot peg positions and the pillion seat. I want to stay in the Triumph line but I’d like something I could drive every day but still keeping that retro look. Also thinking about a T120. Thank you again for all your awesome videos keep them coming! Best Regards, Denis
Those are indeed two pretty similar bikes, but like I said in the video they legitimately feel quite different. I’d demo the t120 and speedmaster if you can and see which you prefer. Either would be good for longer rides than the bobber.
Just depends what you want to use the bike for. Probably the Bobber for just solo, commuting around town. Definitely wouldn’t consider forward controls.
Thanks for posting my younger days with hardcore drunk man presently thinking about downsizing been looking Indian scout water cool beach wind belt drive 100 horsepower that's a lot to be said
stick to drinking. the triumph is liquid cooled too. 100hp is a crank number that with the belt drive, translates to low 80s at the wheel on most dyno charts. peak hp means next to nothing, how often are you going to be at peak hp making rpm on a ride on public roads? the triumph makes more power where it counts. the scout is a nice bike and one id consider, so im not bashing it. belt drive is nice, but you do lose more power from hthe crank to the wheel vs a chain. all in all for this type of bike belt is probably my preference too, but it isnt a deal breaker.
Nice bike, except spokes, and that dang chain drive (which I left back years ago on my mini bike, never to look back). But love the 6 speed trans and 270 degree crankshaft .
Bobby all the way! .. but.. first off you need to mod both of them because the factory 'compliant' stock items on both are mostly just awful! The Bobbers rear fender would be the first to hit the dusty shelf.
For Speedmaster, the silencer length should be lengthened to the bike length to show the difference between them... definitely it will create a longer silhouette appropriate for a cruiser.... cruiser should be long always... short is bobber....
Can we change the rear mudguard for speedmaster and throw in the same bobber seat arrangement? If it's possible then I'll go for speedmaster and when i feel like riding a bobber I'll change the set up.
Ah the bobber. Rode one, loved it and put a down payment on it. Then I did some research on that tank size. It's just too small and not workable if you ride a bike on a regular basis. Shame.
My local Triumph Dealer has a Speedmaster that has a solo seat, wrapped pipes, and the Bobber handlebars. Looks amazing and the ride has to be better then the Bobber.
I’ve been on a 2018 Speedmaster for 4 years - it is badass and I love it !
Time traveler?

My Vote, Speedmaster, I’m thinking on putting it in the garage right now!👍
Ordered my Speedmaster last month 😎 Cannot wait for summer 👍🏼
My Low Rider has beach bars. Most folks seem to hate them but I have grown to like them. Speedmaster for me. Thanks
You have really nailed it with this review. To the point and perfect length. Don't fancy either bike, but enjoyed watching and learning about them. Your camera work is perfection too.
I have a red speedmaster love it 😊
My motorcycle is my main transportation.
Luggage is a must.
Speed master for sure.
The seat from the speedmaster on the bobber, perfect.
Think that's possible? That would be awesome
Speedmaster for me! More comfort and a proper Triumph badge on the tank.......Sal : )
Speedmaster for me too. Retro and old school looks but it kind of works. Like it
Took the bobber for a test ride last year and loved it. Saving penny for one.
Stick a set of white walls on it to finish it off.

The SpeedMaster pretty much fits everything I want for my second bike except the price 😔 Also I'd prefer if it were blacked-out.
Second bike hmm 🤔

Great video. I think the Speedmaster should get the 16L tank that’s on the Scrambler 1200.
I go for Bobber ! 🏍❤️

Same..sold the T100 because of the poverty spec suspension and brakes. These bikes are ok if you have pristine pavement and drive slow..
@@barrybarnes96 what do you ride now? I'm very much considering a BMW R1250R or GS as my next one
The Speedmaster looks great
Waiting for the Speedmaster black
Currently on a Thruxton 900 thinking of moving to the Speedmaster in a few years.
Bobber all day everyday and especially the nights. 🙏
Isn't it uncomfortable to sit on?
@@ahnafabtahy2260not if you upgrade the seat!
The seat on the bobber looks bloody uncomfortable.
Thornton Hundred do a pillion seat for the bobber and loads more.

Getting rid of the chain will be the way forward. I and many others will consider buying this without a chain! I Hope Triumph considers this.
I prefer the non blacked out look on the Speedmaster!
I have a 2002 Bonney American, so I might oped for the bobber.
I've never worked out why the Speedmaster grinds the pegs much sooner than the Bobber Even with the mid mount pegs fitted. Maybe the forks are an inch shorter or something? Wonder if the 2021 version is improved?
Nice video mate, an all black speedmaster is what we want, hoping triumph will making the speedmaster black version like the bobber black
We hope this motocycle in Brazil.... later
I like the bobber with the larger front wheel🤙
They don’t make that one anymore I’m afraid
I have the Bobber. Love her to bits!

I think the bobber would be perfect with raised handle bars (or bars like the speedmastee) and the foot stance a little more forward.
Bobber hands down. It looks buff and young.
Shame they still have their handlebars covered in cable ties, could learn a bit from HD in this space.
I own a 04 speedmaster, love that bike. Was going to buy a bobber. But lack of saddlebag options sealed it. Speedmaster all day
The bobber has to be one of the most gorgeous bikes
i will go for speedmaster it looks like a world war harley with windscreen ❤️ lovely bike
Both are awesome🤩
Taller riders prefer the bobber as you can adjust the seat . I still rather fancy the old 865cc speed master. It just had its own look.
Nice balanced , and well presented review of these two great bikes mate. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I love the Boober look, but my shot back won't like the tiny amount of suspension travel.
Mid foot controls from the factory - the Triumph Speedmaster just got my vote over the Indian Scout …good’ne!
Can you remove the rear seat of the speed master to make it look like the bobber?
The speed master should have had a larger tank
4.5-5gal tank would be good for people wanting to do more miles
gotta appreciate the mad lad who parks a Honda Fireblade in front of the triumph factory
I had a 2007 speed master. Only 860 mL, but very capable and comfortable. I don’t know why the new ones change the degree of the front forks.
I think your assessment is spot on
If I ever had to lose my Softail deluxe, the Speedmaster would be the only replacement. Chain drive just sucks though.

Speedmaster. Because I like to ride further than my local coffee shop.
I have debated this for months. I am an at a complete impasse, like a battle of strength and wits between a Sicilian and the Man in Black.

Speed master .. comfort wins for me .

Honda Fireblade 10 o'clock @ 0:49
Great video! Pretty much sums up all you need to know to make that choice. You didn't mention being able to get away from the Mrs with the Bobber!
SpeedMaster with the high bobber bar is about as ultimate as it gets.
Speedmaster for me
bobber looks better. The bobber black is awesome, has big fatter tire and blacked out obviously. Speedmaster if you do a lot of long trips.
For Speedmaster, the silencer length should be lengthened to the bike length to show the difference between them... definitely it will create a longer silhouette appropriate for a cruiser.... cruiser should be long always... short is bobber....
I own a Bobber and if you reverse time I will still buy The Bobber
Covering some distance, but the tank is too small.
Nice vlog Rob bobber is the ultimate second bike for me perfect along side my street scrambler 👍 u got some road footage for ur other channel as well🤔
The speed master looks more graceful. I would take it and black it out to get both of the best worlds
Speedmaster--mature men
Bobber--Teenagers.
Is that a cbr1000rr in the background of the opening scene? Swing a leg over it as well and post a review please, love your vids man!
Test rode the Bobber Black and hated it! I'd go for the Indian Scout. Will you be reviewing any of the Indian Scout range?
I love my speedmaster.
If you're single: bobber. 🤟🏻😎
With couple : speedmaster. 🤟🏻😍
Easy.
A huge problem with the SM is that the pillion has nowhere to put their legs when the luggage is fitted. FAIL
What about a Bobber - Speedmaster hybrid, old style looking with two tractor seats
Good review, appreciate it
Love the speedmaster but would rather it had silver and black alloys rather than spoked wheels, nuisance to keep clean !

Do they both have that tiny 14 litre fuel tank? !2 litre? I thought I just heard the guy from Triumph say at EICMA that it had a 14 litre tank?
Nice review!
I have been asking myself the same question for nearly two years. It has to be the bobber. The speedmaster just has a meh look to it.
